  1. Does any one else remember the special "sneak peak" at IJ during the week during the pass processing hours? I do cause I worked it but I remember very few people ever coming.
  2. The only coaster that I would worry about if I got stuck on the lift of would be probably faceoff
  3. I heard from a very reliable source that the IJ cars and the Antique cars were going to premier to have the antique cars retrofitted to the old IJ train frames. BMW has refused to renew the licence for the coopers, however Ford is more than willing to license KI for use of the Model-T's.
  4. I wonder if they'll do ride reservations for the first bit like the did on IJ. Lol, everyone complained when we had the ride reservations because they didnt realize that your in line wait time was significantly shorter, then after we took them away, people complained that they were gone.
  5. I really wish Cedar Fair had gone with something a little more vintage or if nothing else, something that INCLUDED the Eiffel Tower.
  6. The other day? it's january. I've been ther several times on what could be considered crowded days and have never seen geauga utilize both stations, nor have I ever waited more than 45min-1hour even with the line close to the entrance. The wait was almost identical to that of Borg from the entrance, which I also only waited 45min for. I'm not saying they never used both stations, this is just my experience. I'm also not quite sure what your drawing is refering to.
  7. I wouldnt consider a min or 2 on a lift a ride broken down unless the operator tells you so.
  8. I have ridden all of the vekoma flyers including stealth while it was at PGA and Borg where it now sits and i have never been really astonished by their capacity. Getting everyone into those restraints takes a good while. In all the times I have ever been to Geauga Lake I have never seen both stations utilized. At Six Flags America on Batwing, only one station was being used, however while we were standing in the station, there was a problem with the ride. The course of action taken was to park that train in that station, flip over the rotating track, and move all the guests to the other station where within 15min we boarded and rode. Personally other than in situations like that^ I dont see the double station being as efficient as Vekoma had hoped. I just feel like there is so much that could go wrong with the rotating track that the risk of breaking down would be too great. (not to mention the extra staffing needed to run both sides for just a little extra capacity) My guess is if both stations are going to be utilized, it will probably be the same days as when both sides of Skyflyer are utilized. (Saturday's in the summer etc.) Just my 2 centz. -Nick-
  9. Yea its on a vhs tape put out by rhino home video called America Screams. It was produced in 1990 (though the footage was from the 70's). I bought the tape from blockbuster probably 7 or 8 years ago. It talks a lot about the history of roller coasters and has some great footage of the screamin demon and the king kobra at dominion. http://www.amazon.com/America-Screams-Vari...s/dp/6301687639 This is a copy of the vhs for sale on amazon. This is where that prototype video comes from. It has the mini-model, the full scale model, as well as a long interview with ARROW about the design of the suspended coaster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America_Screams ^if you've got the video, help out^
  10. its definately sitting in the parking lot
  11. Check out this analysis of the incident, sheds a lot of light on it. I would have done the same thing in tiggers place.
  12. also when you work at disney, you are not you, you are who you're preforming. If you play cinderella, you're not yourself you are cinderella. If you're tigger you are tigger, not a man behind a mask.
  13. I've walked through the water park fully clothed several times and you have to watch out for people cause they will throw water on you from above. On new years eve, my mom and I were there and two kids had grabbed one of the little water wheels and tried to let it go as we walked under, luckily i pushed my mom out of the way but I did get some overspray. That and the kids that insist on standing on the fountains in the floor and shooting it everywhere. If you're going in clothes, you gotta be careful.
  14. King Cobra was the first standup coaster to be built in the United States.
  15. As opposed to doing what with them?
  16. It would take a considerable amout of work to make a train able to run backward. Think about it, the chain dogs are all angled one direction, the would have to be retrofitted to run the other direction. Also the break fins are not in the center of the train, they are off to the side meaning they would have to be put on the on the other side meaning new mouning brackets on every car. The anti rollback clicker things would be facing the wrong way on the trains and would have to be reversed. The electrical contactas for the restraints wouldnt be in the wrong position since they are not perfectly spaced throughout the train. All that stuff and more have to be perfectly adjusted. If the fins were not perfect, they would not trip the sensors right or catch the train well. Short and sweet, NO your friend NEVER rode The Beast backward. I'd bet that the trains come with some type of warrenty or something that would be void if the trains were run in a manner that was unintended by the manufacturer.
  17. I have that old video on vhs, its produced by like rhino videos. It talks a lot about beach side parks. It does show the screamin demon on it as well as the King Cobra at PKD. In addition it shows an onride view of a full size ridable prototype of a suspended roller coaster. Its like a parking lot prototype similar to Thrust Air 2000 or the intamin rocket prototype.
  18. SPOILER WARNING: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LOOK AT THE NEXT THREE PICTURES, IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO RUIN THE SUPRISE OF EXPEDITION EVEREST. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED THIS CANT BE GOOD OH NO THIS IS IT LAST CHANCE TO TURN BACK PHOTGRAPHED IN LIVING COLOR...THE YETTI The first two were taken by me, the third by my girlfriend. This is not easy as you only get a very short gilmps of the yetti. We had to ride it 5 times before we finally got a picture. Disclamer: Tomb Raider Nick will not be responsible for any loss of anticipation and/or thrill of anybodys initial ride experience on Expedition Everest due to these pictures.
  19. I have been on that Top Gun. Its alright but kinda short, and the ride definately shows its age. The way the queue is set up, it has similar themeing as PKI's used to have(radar, cockpit, etc.), but they cant close it off. Because of this there is graffiti everywhere and none of the effects work, it really is a shame. The ride is fairly smooth as most B&M's are. That turn over the lake however, well that lake is only about 6-12 inches deep so in clear spots you can see the bottom which isnt pretty, every time i've ridden it, its about half covered in scum.
  20. Heres the music to go along with that picture^ http://media.putfile.com/You-Win
