  1. I've been told that originally the water traugh theming in The Beast queue did in fact run while the water was there. Shawnee Landing, now thats a ride they should bring back, lol.
  2. Santa was smoking and asking for booze, priceless.
  3. Speaking of the things in the AZ, I wonder if Cedar Fair will ever get us a new Action Zone sign. I always wondered, Coney Mall, Action Zone, Boomerang Bay, Nickelodean Universe, Hanna Barbbera land, Nick Central, Nickelodean Splat City and Oktoberfest all have had signs denoting that area of the park, yet as far as I know Rivertown has never had an actual sign or anything to really signify its presents. (other than say, rivertown station) (Also I am unsure as to whether sections like adventure village, animal habitat, etc had signs.) I always wondered why. I guess there is no good place for a sign.
  4. Ha, i love the one about the girl at white water canyon that throws rocks. Anyone who has worked a KI a while knows who started that, and who keeps the myth alive.
  5. Wasnt it a pay per ride park in its last year? I remember paying admission but I'm positive my family and I got wristbands to ride the rides. That is except my mom, she just got a couple tickets to ride screechin eagle and was good with that.
  6. I was on the Cedar Fair main website and noticed that Bonfante Gardens was one of the Cedar Fair parks. I know that there used to be an association between either Bonfante Gardens and Kings Island or with Paramount. Does anyone know if Cedar Fair owned Bonfante Gardens before the purchase of Paramount or if it came in the package as Star Trek: The Experience did? Thanks! http://www.cedarfair.com/
  7. I wonder how long it will be untill typing www.pki.com will not take you there anymore. Probably at least a year.
  8. dont forget "Every Pay Check On Thursday" Originally Walt Disney's idea for EPCOT was for people to live there, mostlikely workers.
  9. I have one of those^ they're completely black and white, not even grey. I have an original 1972 souviner size map, the tomb raider press release, tomb raider poster, and tomb raider crazy TR shot glass.
  10. When I was 14, 15, and 16 my friend Allen and I would go to the Job Fairs just to get in to see the park in the off season, see expansion progress, and because they always had free LaRosas and soda.
  11. I once read that Kings Island pays 78% of all of the property tax that pays for Mason School Districts. I'm not surprised, check out their high school/community center. I doubt Mason would do very well without KI.
  12. No I was wearing my extra large screechin eagle t-shirt. (I comfortably wear a medium now) I was going through a phase. Shame too cause I have so many XL coaster shirts that I feel stupid wearing. King cobra, incredable hulk, original AZ shirt, Screechin Eagle, Vortex, Racer, Outer Limits: Flight of Fear.
  13. http://www.americanaamusementpark.com/ Here's the unofficial website with some great pics etc. I could swear I went to the park in 2003, once with my family, once for the ace event Screech Fest, ERT on Screechin Eagle all night, amazing.
  14. The Miller Coaster: The longer you ride, the blurrier it gets, the the closer you get to puking.
  15. The newer slides have a really kushy padding for your feet but those older ones like the late rushing river and sidwinder (new names elude me) have that old honeycomb turf that feels like you're walking on nails.
  16. I gotta agree with the interpreter, Cedar Fair has never flaunted valleyfair at all the way it does Cedar Point. Even when it was the two of them, expansionwise valleyfair was treated like the ******* sibling. With the addition of parks, the emphasis was still given to Cedar Point, and then sprinkeled down to the rest of the parks. edit: the ******** means that the parents of the sibling were not married
  17. The reason that x-flight and steel venom could be removed was cause they were on the edge of the park. Dominator would leave a giant hole in the middle of the park. Also CP finds a way to build rides, whether its moving flat rides or building on top of things. With their space constraints, CP will probably only build custom made coasters, not pre-fab coasters from other parks.
  18. Still, one of the things that makes rides like Top Gun, Tomb Raider, Wild Thornberries, Italian Job, etc. so memorable is the fact that their named after a movie. Looking back on a trip it is easier to remember the rides, especially if the person has seen the movie.
  19. I was on Jokers Jinx at SFA and for some reason unbeknonst to me, the breaks applied at the end of the launch causing us to go halfway up the cobra roll and come back down. They got a bunch of people out there to push the train back, got us off then shut down for about 45 minutes.
  20. Yea I was in line next for Wicked Twister when some idiot next to me threw a wad of paper at the train as it went by, breaking the sensor beam causing the ride to e-stop and the breaks to apply down in the launch.
  21. DeLorean Rider

    Firehawk?

Well that shouldnt be a problem since so far they only have 2 full trains.
  22. So far all we've got is a helicopter which is borderline ironic since the ride is built on the old helipad.
