Well there's your answer.

Too much trouble, people would loose their vouchers and get upset. Besides the prize is not that you get to take home a basketball, it's that you get to walk around the park with a basketball and let every guest know that you were good enough to win it. Same with all the the other prizes at the park, its barely a trophy once it leaves the park gates. The prize is knowing that people are watching you carry around you're 5' scooby and thinking to themselves, "wow, that guy sure is awesome." Even though they're really saying, "wow i'll bet that's a pain in the ass, why would you want that?"

Yea just dont post anything dealing with the brady bunch and it probalby wont get deleted, .

There's more than one set of lights though. There are lights that they use at the end of the night and such if someone looses an article that are controlled by a light switch, however the GIANT spotlights and beacons inside that are used when maintainance are doing work are controlled by a breaker box inside the dome. We'd use them on cleanup when we'd lock out and they would take about 10 minutes before they were practly blinding. (Also the pre-season refers to the time before June as the season is considered between June and August, after is called post-season)
-
Yea^ its not supposed to be looked at as a water ride but as a gentle stroll through the different cultures of the world.
-
The lights inside the dome take about 10 minutes to come on completely and they have to be turned on from inside the dome.

Teen Injured In Kings Island Parking Lot
DeLorean Rider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Never underestimate ambulance chasers. Remember, the coffee at McDonalds is hot. -
I cant believe that we're argueing whether there is a difference between a log flume and a ride along boat ride like gulivers rub a dub. Have you ever ridden another parks log flume, most of them you get significantly more wet on. The log flume at Americana used to get you soaked. Holiday world got me soked. Kennywoods, got me drenched. Kings Island doesnt get you wet like it used to so they improvized. You argue that you think that its okay to get wet by getting splashed but then get upset if you get drenched. What does it matter what the method of deliverance of the water is. AND why do you keep comparing the log flume to rides like Gulivers Rub a Dub. One ride is a ride through the woods on swiftly moving water with hills and lifts, the other is a level trough of water with slow flowing water. Its apples an oranges. One of them, the emphasis is your surroundings, the other is the fact that your riding along in a log through a trough of water, NOT TO MENTION that it has a jungle theme to it with animals including elephants. Now you know that the elephant is there, if you dont want to get wet, dont ride. Also this past March I was in the third row of Pirates of the Carribbean and I got wet from both the drop and the cannon ball firing. And its a shame that you dont like getting sprayed by the gysers on WWC cause man do they love spraying you.

So I assume you do not like the gysers on White Water Canyon either?

You know in the case of Firehawk and other intense rides at the park, the safety guides do not have medical recomendations, they have medical restrictions (new since Cedar Fair). In the case of Firehawk, technically, anyone with heart condition or high blood pressure, back trouble, neck trouble, recent surgery or illness, or pregnancy are NOT permitted to ride. Obviously the park cannot accuse guests of any of these conditions however if something were to happen where that would be brought into question, the park does have it clearly marked at both the entrance, exit, and in the map that anyone with those conditions are not allowed to ride. Same with a parent who tries to sneak their child who is too short to ride onto a ride.

I personally like the elephant. I was always upset when I rode the ride and did not get wet. I also always hated when while working the ride people would say, "uh... this seat is wet," and ask for a towel or something to dry it with. Then they'd get off and yell at us for not telling them the elephant was there. The park does not try to hide the fact that its there. Its kind of hard to miss if you're watching the ride run. I think there is a difference between a gentle boat ride or tunnel of love type ride and a water/thrill ride. The log flume type ride was taken from the idea of lumberjacks riding the logs down the side of the mountain on the water throughs that were used to transport the logs at the end of a days work. I believe that you're supposed to get wet in the process. I do think that it is a shame that Kings Island does not have some sort of gentle boat ride whether it be on a lake or in a tunnel, but I dont think the Log Flume was intended to fill that role. Also the elephant is not always on. The employees can turn the elephant off. In the fall the elephant is not turned off as well as days where it is very cold out.

WOW, now that is impressive.
-
True^ any time a modification to the ride is made such that the ride experience is different or the location is different it is treated as a brand new ride.

Yes, I've probably ridden more than you. Personally I think that the "classic steel looper" that you love so much is a piece of junk. The only good steel looper that arrow made is Tennessee Tornado. And thats because Ron %$#% Toomer had nothing to do with it. I'm guessing that you havent ridden a floorless coaster yet. Yea sure Vortex could be converted to a standup...If you wanted to KILL people. That rides transitions are so bad; they're worse than a 7 year olds RCT creation. Look at it this way, if you put standup trains on Vortex, that would make your head about 8 feet from the track rather than 4 feet. That means every jerk in the track you would feel WAY harder because you would have to go so much further back and fourth with each jerk. I've been on Skyrider, Shockwave, Iron Wolf, Vortex PGA, Vortex Carowinds, King Cobra, Mantis, Chang, and the only ones that I can truly say that I got off and immediately wanted to ride again were King Cobra and Skyrider. Also like I said, check the facts, NOT ONE standup coaster has been built since the creation of the floorless coaster. Also I dont have anything against inverted coasters. BUT I also think that Floorless coasters are significantly better. I've been on Medusa, Medusa, and Dominator and I would prefer either of them to any inverted coaster I have ridden. When they ran a discovery show exclusive on the making of Medusa the first floorless coaster they spoke specifically about how the problem with the inverted coasters ability to make one feel as though they are flying is that you cannot see the sky. While you're flying, how can you not be able to see the sky? So they created a ride where you could have your feet dangle and still see the wide open wild blue yonder. Also in refrence to T2; I've ridden T2, KONG, Minderaser, Top Gun PCW, and Thunderhawk. NOT ONE of those would I consider riding again the next time I go to any of those parks. You know that once a women who rode Mind Eraser (cant remember if it was SFA or SFNE) tried to sue the park for brain damage and the park in court made note that the rides name was Mind Eraser and that tha should have been a warning. Anyway thats off topic. I've also ridden about a dozen B&M Inverted coasters and though much more enjoyable than anything Vekoma put together, I would still rather ride a B&M Floorless any day.

Personally I dont mind hearing Chicago playing on I-Street.

In the past there has actually been serious consideration about removing TR from the building and making it an outdoor top spin. If the ride were outside it would actually run a lot more reliably. The problem right now is that because it has to sync up with the show, all the movements have to take place within a very strict set of parameters where as if the ride was outside and didnt hit a marker at the exact time, it's no big deal. The only thing is, that would cost money to do and the park has decided they have other priorities.
-
I could see where that would actually be pretty cool. I hope you got a picture.

Anyone with a park map from fearfest 2004 needs to read the sub text under tomb raider. It talks about an exciting new sequal. This was an idea by the marketing dept of KI that they didnt get approved by the rides dept. Aparently marketing didnt realize the amount of time and effort it takes to write the program for the ride, and the show, and then make the ride sync up with the show. Obviously it never happened.
-
Yes but those can be turned off aswell if necessary.
-
Yes but not all of that down time was attributed to the PGA incident. The ride was actually very broken down. Remember when delerium had the sign out in from of the ride that said something to the effect of, "this ride is temporarily closed, we apologise for the inconvenience, we are waiting for a part from Germany." Well with drop zone they were waiting for a part from I believe Belgium.

Agreed! What food for thought, hmmmm...
