It can be. You're in the dark, twisting around a lot and I forget how many inversions it has.

Sippers! Oh I wish those would make a comeback. Sugary sweet water, yay!

They certainly load up the Saratoga chips at the Reds HOF grill when getting the chicken tenders. Those things are tasty!

Sweet, I was there that same day. Looks like you had a real good time. I'd agree with your boyfriend and friends about Vortex. I rode it around 3 in the afternoon and it felt really good. It's been years since I last rode it but it didn't feel too rough for me. As for Flight of Fear, I love that ride. But I must confess when I rode it last Friday it seemed more rough then I remembered. That could have just been from having not rode it in many years though. But I still enjoyed it.

I saw the same last week, with regards to the turkey leg stand.

Instrumental music returns to International Street
DMann1979 replied to BeeastFarmer's topic in Kings Island
Thank you for this topic. I spent a bit of time under the entrance at the charging station last time I was there and loved the film scores and classic music playing. Recognized the ET finale theme, and it never fails when I hear that as it reaches the end I always tear up. But ai couldn't place another piece. I knew it was John Williams, bit couldn't place the film. Thanks to the list in this thread I know it was Born on the 4th of July, so I thank you. -
Asking for a coworker, her granddaughter want to get a season pass. I told her to get Gold before the 29th. If she buys the season pass they sell at Kroger does that count as Gold or can that only be done online/at the park?

Had an amazing night ride on The Beast tonght in the last car. Hitting those tunnels in pitch black was an absolute rush.
-
Ideally I'd go but I'm going to the park all day on the 19th. But I will take advantage one of these nights this season though.

I am a fan of the Saratoga Chips at the RHOFG. I like those thick cut chips in general. The chicken tenders dinner with them was pretty good all in all.

Thanks. I checked the park website and saw the listing for this Friday's trucks. I have a Gold Pass, just going to meet with my best friend. She's bringing her two young nephews and the older of the two is 9 and big enough for the larger rides. But no one in his family (even his Dad) likes coasters so I told her I'd gladly take him on Beast, Mystic Timbers etc.

To those who were at the park yesterday(Friday May 12), what were the food trucks like. I'll be going this coming Friday and I'm curious what they'll have around. I presume naturally none of the trucks fall under the meal plans as they are outside operators.

1) The Beast, I just love it too much. You don't ride it, you experience it. 2) Diamondback, That lift hill always makes me tense but after the first drop it's just amazing. 3) The Bat, I love the push down you feel as it swoops along the track. 4) Mystic Timbers, I don't think I've ever rode a coaster that seems to stay at a consistant speed throughout. 5) Flight of Fear, I love how midway through it slows down just enough for you to look around and see the twisting steel surrounding you. 6) White Water Canyon, Just be sure to take your socks off and have a towel waiting when you get off.

I'll be at the park on the 19th but not a member of ACE so I wish you all the best time over the two day period. Might have to consider joining ACE next year so I can try this.

Well I had a fanny pack, maybe I got a decent ride attendant. He told me just to wear it to the side and I'd be fine.

I wasn't planning on going this day, as weather reports into Friday were calling for showers throughout the day. However, I awoke around 7am to see sunlight creeping through the window (I live in Dayton/Kettering, so only about 45 minutes from the park). A quick check of the weather revealed that the day was to be partly cloudy now with only a 20 percent chance of rain. I decided then and there to head off to the park, Gold Pass in hand for my second visit of the season. I arrived around a quarter till 10, with a lot of people already gathering. There appeared to be a lot of school chior and band groups there. Which meant for a slightly crowded park. But since I had no other plans for the weekend, time was not a factor. I intendedto stay until it got dark anyway so as to enjoy a night ride on The Beast. Got through the gate, flashed my pass and headed towards Mystic Timbers. Even with early access a line was forming already. But I managed to get on the ride in about five minutes. What an intense fast ride that doesn't let up. A great addition to the park. That was the start of a really wonderful day. I spent 11 hours and set a personal best record of riding eight coasters in one day: Mystic Timbers, Backlot Stunt Coaster, The Bat, Vortex, Diamondback, Adventure Express, The Racer and ending at dusk with The Beast. Would have been nine had Flight of Fear's line not been so long. This was my first visit using the season dining and drink plan and I had no trouble. Both meals were fine and I think I got about six refills through the day. As the days get warmer that drink pass is going to come in handy I know. This was for me one of my favorite park visits. If two weeks ago was my soft opening, this was my official start to the 2017 season.

I waited maybe 15 minutes for Diamondback, that was around 5pm.
-
Bat had a 20-30 minute wait, that was around 1pm.
-
At the park for the second time this season. Feels nice to have the sun out, even though it's low 50s right now.
-
I have a question, since both season drink plans are the same price. If you get the Souvenir Cup plan, do your drinks have to be filled in that cup, or can you still get a paper cup drink if you choose. I'm asking for those times I might not want to drag the cup around the park.

Rode it yesterday. That first drop with the curve felt very intense. What I was amazed with is how consistant the speed and pace was. It never felt like it slowed down so it was very fun and intense all the way through for me.

Made a first visit yesterday, cause it was UFCW day so discounted tickets, parking and lunch in the picnic grove. Just myself, as anytime I go with friends or family they aren't much for the big rides and I hate to make people wait as I ride. Only in hindsight do I realize I should have parked by the Soak City entrance, as I got to the park at quarter till 9. I could have left my bag in the car, rode rides, had lunch then go to Soak City, walk out to the car and get the bag, change, walk back to the car and drop off the bag and avoid locker rental fees. Something to remember if I have the time to go again later this year.
