  1. The path over DBs photo takes it through a pretty wide gap under the midcourse, and around the outside of the turn. The path through the middle of WWC puts the "bridge" over the conveyor lift.
  2. There are 2 ways to deal with DB, one takes a path through the turn, over the photo; the other runs down the middle of WWC.
  3. There are a few options. The best is one where they reroute the train, or remove the log ride.
  4. This map gives a pretty good idea what the terrain is like in the area. https://mappingsupport.com/p/gmap4.php?ll=39.34,-84.271&z=15&t=t1
  5. Scale, layout, and storage/station are good indication of GCI. The foundation strips and steel structure are further reinforcement of the GCI possibilities. Having recently worked with CF at other parks gives a little more weight to this theory.
  6. I am certain that this ride will have bigger hills than that. I have a lot of doubt of any kind of launch.
  7. Pink is pretty much just a reference point. There could be any number of reasons why they were surveying in that area.
  8. I'm starting to wonder if they may alter the train route a little. I really don't think they'd want this ride running through the center of WWC, but could see them going over it a couple times. It would be really sad to see them remove either water ride in that area. I think the interaction, or lack of, with Diamondback could be very telling.
  9. I think that's just a location tease. It appears that the ride will interact with WWC.
  10. The minimum length based on the information at city hall is 3250ft. Elevation is not considered in this number.
  11. If they put the station on that side of the tracks, and cross over WWC, the bridge span lines up pretty closely to a section of the rapids. I can show this graphically on Wednesday morning. I have my speculation files at work.
  12. I am just waiting for more information on placement. If they go over WWC, I can put the turn around in a comfortable position next to DB. I still expect Rivertown to expand with this project.
  13. I've hit my hands on plenty of supports/tunnels/other passengers while riding rides over the years. That's what happens when you put your hands up on rides.
  14. The statue of Don will be the centerpiece of the new midway built across the train tracks.
  15. I find the 3rd row of each car to be a bit jarring. Other than that, The Beast is very smooth compared to other large wooden coasters.
  16. After doing some scaling work, based on all the information we have, the current length (without elevation accounted for) is 3250ft. Edit: A very rough outline of Prowler at WoF gives me 3000ft. So I can't imagine this ride being more than 3500ft.
  17. "Curves don't do anything" is part of the reason people think Mean Streak is boring. Remember when he was designing rides, curves were not quick direction changes. People enjoy direction changes, and so the hills provided that in a more consistent way. Most of the previous twister designs would tear themselves apart due to either poor structural rigidity or poor vehicle tracking. Better engineering and construction techniques, and better vehicle design, has allowed designers to add curves to the direction change library.
  18. So, back to the falling trees thing, again. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/744168360326344708
  19. Yeah, pretty sure it's always had trims. It's just more noticeable than the skids were.
  20. I very rarely play games at parks, and definitely wouldn't go out of my way to get a special card to pay for them.
  21. That seems like it should be relative to something else? I mean, shorter than what? Smaller than what? Slower than what? 3500ft (my top length estimate) is pretty respectable for a wooden coaster not named The Beast.
