  1. I am most anxious to see photos of any work that's taken place at the park. More clearing, footings, grading etc. The physical indications really get my anticipation blood flowing. For those that regularly visit the park and post photos of the area in question - keep those coming (albeit taken within the appropriate confines of the park.) Tomorrow morning... if at all possible ;-) LOL!
  2. Nor am I ;-) Point taken about the "leaked layout" - that pushed things over the edge unfortunately. I wear my KI heart on my sleeve. I just think it would suck to be one of those making the actual decisions, trying very hard to keep a secret - only to be scooped by "leaked" plans (authentic or not) from people that aren't doing the heavy lifting or internal decision-making. My point all along is, and will be, speculation is a good thing (and I bet the park thinks so too) but once too much gets revealed, or someone takes it too far, it takes the fun out of it.
  3. Apologies, but I think its absurd that people cant enjoy 'decoding' without seeing detailed blueprints. If participating like that makes you uncomfortable, well... not my business to "advise" you what to do.
  4. Please Lord no.... that's how all this whackadoodle craziness began yesterday... Just be patient, savor the mystique and clues as they come, and wait until the park officially announces. Cake tastes better to me if I have to wait for it... and I enjoy the anticipation and speculation of how good its going to be... I dont need to be told all the ingredients by someone other than the chef.
  5. I'll repeat what I have said in many different formats, and I truly mean it... I've been a fan/attendee of KI for a long long time... well over 35 years... and I sampled the park under every form of ownership in those years. I can say, for certain, Cedar Fair is doing a tremendous job with the park. They have restored a flair/vibe to the park that was all but obscured for years. (That includes all facets of the customer facing side of the business.) Those making the obviously informed decisions are to be commended.
  6. ... who's overall cost is based on what its marketability and profitability will be over a determined period of time. (Thanks Gordon Bombay)
  7. Does anyone here read? About 25 people have posted the same thing about the population I used as a "reference point" ... but I'll say it again... Pay attention to what I SAID not what I posted.
  8. My God everyone here gets so obsessed with debating minutia... add in this, add in that... wah wah wah.... KI should get the biggest coaster in the world... this sucks yada yada yada... Its pretty apparent they are getting a sizable capitol expenditure... re-read what I said and really listen to what I AM and AM NOT saying... "Vitality of market, and viable marketability of product has EVERYTHING to do with decisions on capitol expenditures."
  9. Those are pulled via city - not metro area. They increase largely if you look at area vs city population... but overall, the ratio stands.
  10. This may clear things up a bit... Vitality of market, and viable marketability of product has EVERYTHING to do with decisions on capitol expenditures.
  11. That wasnt me...
  12. Base of spine leading up lift hill bolts to the footing like this:
  13. I think everyone is digging too deep and overthinking things. Its likely a combination of a lot of things that dictate it's construction calendar. Probably has more to do with the scheduling of the contractors KI has chosen to prep the grounds, pour concrete, assemble the ride etc. When Lightning Run was built at KK, they had to wait to begin assembly because the same company was contracted to build Banshee at KI. They literally started assembling LR within a day or two following Banshee's assembly being finished. Proof here: (skip to 31:24) Construction at KI is just as, if not moreso, complicated as anywhere else. It involves a lot of "choreography" by those overseeing the project to coordinate suppliers, builders etc etc etc.
  14. Wake me up when KI sets the OFFICIAL announcement date. :-)
  15. Best quote of the day! My sentiments exactly! Lol!!!
  16. So it’s not a giga, it’s a GAGA... short, with small hills - overhyped. Called “Little Monster.” Lol
  17. Dennis Speigel knows no more than the rest of us. Remember a few years ago when he told the local news that the footings in Rivertown proved that they were for a dive coaster? He's a very nice and knowledgeable guy, that has a place in Kings Island's (and moreso Kings Dominion's) early history. But he has no say, or knowledge, over any of KI's current installs.
  18. KI Fanboys & Fangirls be like:
  19. Oh well - it actually made sense. If you do a Google search of “Kings Island Constellation 355”, there is a link to this book: (Note the Orion bit...)
  20. If this is true... WHOA!
  21. Looks to be 1980....
  22. ...and electrical junction boxes.
  23. Thanks for postiing that. I believe the coaster may interact with Beast like a large turnaround or such over/under The Beast's brake shed, 2nd drop and behind Action Theater and Racer's turnarounds.
