Does anyone here read? About 25 people have posted the same thing about the population I used as a "reference point" ... but I'll say it again... Pay attention to what I SAID not what I posted.

My God everyone here gets so obsessed with debating minutia... add in this, add in that... wah wah wah.... KI should get the biggest coaster in the world... this sucks yada yada yada... Its pretty apparent they are getting a sizable capitol expenditure... re-read what I said and really listen to what I AM and AM NOT saying... "Vitality of market, and viable marketability of product has EVERYTHING to do with decisions on capitol expenditures."

Those are pulled via city - not metro area. They increase largely if you look at area vs city population... but overall, the ratio stands.

This may clear things up a bit... Vitality of market, and viable marketability of product has EVERYTHING to do with decisions on capitol expenditures.

I think everyone is digging too deep and overthinking things. Its likely a combination of a lot of things that dictate it's construction calendar. Probably has more to do with the scheduling of the contractors KI has chosen to prep the grounds, pour concrete, assemble the ride etc. When Lightning Run was built at KK, they had to wait to begin assembly because the same company was contracted to build Banshee at KI. They literally started assembling LR within a day or two following Banshee's assembly being finished. Proof here: (skip to 31:24) Construction at KI is just as, if not moreso, complicated as anywhere else. It involves a lot of "choreography" by those overseeing the project to coordinate suppliers, builders etc etc etc.

Wake me up when KI sets the OFFICIAL announcement date. :-)

Best quote of the day! My sentiments exactly! Lol!!!

So it’s not a giga, it’s a GAGA... short, with small hills - overhyped. Called “Little Monster.” Lol

Dennis Speigel knows no more than the rest of us. Remember a few years ago when he told the local news that the footings in Rivertown proved that they were for a dive coaster? He's a very nice and knowledgeable guy, that has a place in Kings Island's (and moreso Kings Dominion's) early history. But he has no say, or knowledge, over any of KI's current installs.

Oh well - it actually made sense. If you do a Google search of “Kings Island Constellation 355”, there is a link to this book: (Note the Orion bit...)

If this is true... WHOA!

...and electrical junction boxes.

Thanks for postiing that. I believe the coaster may interact with Beast like a large turnaround or such over/under The Beast's brake shed, 2nd drop and behind Action Theater and Racer's turnarounds.

Please keep things on topic...

FYI, last weekend when I was there, there was clearing around and under The Beast's 2nd drop... here's the area...

And it’s actually 2 - 9 (two - nine) not “29.” “2 - 9 with” is down with guests on board.

I didnt realize Greg Scheid was no longer with Cedar Fair - online it says he "retired." Did he indeed retire, or was he retired? Just curious since apparently he now does "outside consulting."

I'd actually be surprised to see all those maintenance buildings moved. I assume to do so, they'd have to move the water storage basin/silo (at least I've always thought it was water storage) and there's no indication of that - yet... To my knowledge, the maintenance buildings closest to that water storage have been there since earlier years of the park. They were not built when KI opened, but I think constructed in the first decade at least. They were built to house the wood coaster shop close to Racer. They added the longer red building and tan metal building next to the originals over time. BTW - fun fact... if a ride/coaster is built in the area vacated by Firehawk then it will be the 4th attraction on that plot of land. Shaggy

Side entrance by water park.
