  1. So you had problems with your pass again this year? I`m actually a little concerned about using my KI Platinum pass, because they had problems with it when I renewed it back in September.
  2. The webcams refresh every minute, not every thirty seconds.
  3. Yeah, I was a little confused by that post as well. It is a sand base. They filled in the groves with more sand. I fail to see what the sarcasm was about and who it was directed towards.
  4. Yes! (I`m not Terpy though). To be honest, the best way to find out would be to contact the park. It might be too late for this summer season though, as most seasonal parks have already started filling their summer positions. And you know how the old saying goes. "The early bird catches the worm."
  5. Ok. Any particular reason for the 1996 guess?
  6. Didn't Six Flags Magic Mountain install a tiny museum dedicated to former attractions at the top of their observation rower a few seasons back? The only problem is that most parks do not like to dwell on the past. Nostalgia doesn't necessarily translate into increased revenue. As such, they are often not inclined to invest in such things ad museums or memorials to past rides and attractions. Yes, there are some exceptions to those rules. Some parks firmly embrace their heritage more than others.
  7. We gave begin interviewing new hires for the 125th season at Coney. It's hard to believe that the long cold winter months are drawing to a close and the summer amusement park season is approaching quickly! Before we know it, it will be Memorial day weekend! I certainly can't wait, but also know that the time will fly and the season will end all too quickly!
  8. Any date associated with that picture Paul?
  9. I don't really see how you get 70s retro from the colors. The first thing I think of is the main sign for Cedar Point up in Sandusky, right near Castaway Bay. It has similar colors.
  10. I was thinking the same thing earlier when I saw those images of Canada`s Wonderland`s WindSeeker!
  11. Looks like the first piece of the crown of the tower has been lifted into place.
  12. Sand is the base for pavers. The grooves in the sand are from where they used pipes to screed the sand to make it a level surface. The reason you see a lip around the edge, is to account for the thickness of the pavers.
  13. And soon, we will be able to stand in that spot and see a very different view!
  14. I actually remember Cedar Fair saying at one point in time, that approximately 40% of the attendance at the former Paramount Parks came from pass holders, while that number was substantially lower (like 10%) at the legacy parks.
  15. Not to mention, the fact that I-275 is not far from Coney, and the noise from the traffic can be heard at Moonlite Gardens. Especially in the early evening hours after all the rides close, and the crowds have dispersed!
  16. I have found memories from going to the Cincinnati Zoo on field trips back in elementary school! The zoo has been a leader in green technology and buildings. Part of that also has to do with the fact that they are set as an educational facility, and more importantly, they are a not-for profit organization.
  17. Yeah. I still don`t know what Q seems to be after. At first I thought they were simply trying to turn a quick profit. Their motives still aren`t exactly clear at this point to me.
  18. But what if Falfas is not after monetary gain? What if he is looking after what remains of his career? I mean, he was stated to be Kinzel`s replacement as CEO.
  19. But if Falfas was indeed fired, and did not resign, as Q is alleging, then did Cedar Fair not mislead the unit holders? It certainly seems very suspicious to me. And it certainly will further tarnish Kinzel`s reputation, in my opinion. That and the Apollo deal certainly made Kinzel look like he only ever had his best interests in mind, and not those of the company or unit holders.
  20. And if I`m not mistaken, Disney typically does not let their ride manufacturers cite them as a reference. Not sure where I read this, but I recall coming across it several years ago.
  21. Georgia! There is a song or something like that right? Notice they are building the "roof" to the tower on the ground, before they lift it into place.
  22. Of course, it's almost certainly just because of Kings Mills, Ohio, which does not contain an apostrophe even if one is "implied" since apostrophes are quite rare in city names. You would think that would be the case. But I recently had to replot a rendering that listed Mayslick as such. Why did we have to reprint it? Because apparently it is spelled "May`s Lick" complete with an apostrophe.
  23. And of course, the log flume at KI currently has an operator at the top of the final hill. But of course, that is also where the main controls for the ride are as well.
  24. And is it also not true that when Beast first opened, they would have a ride operator sitting out on the second lift hill?
