  1. I have a vision of Kings Island making International Street longer. The ticket processing center, and gate is brought to where the tents began this year, and after you enter it is nothing but boutique shops, walking paths, and floral arraingements leading into the park.
  2. This is an interesting topic, and one that should be discussed. I have been attending Kings Island with a season pass every year since 1994, and very happy doing so. Not until 2018 did I attend Cedar Point with my daughters. They were becoming enthusiasts wanting to learn about every type of coasters, and ride a variety of them. We made the trip, and bought FastLane plus passes. Well worth our investment. We rode every ride at least twice with 10 rides on Top Thrill, Millennium Force and Maverick. I noticed small details in my first trip, that differed vastly from Kings Island. In 2019 I wanted to share the same magic and fun with my wife and youngest daughter. Our trip was fun, but did not capture the magic of the previous year. My wife did not want to buy FastLane passes or ride the big 4 coasters. After some persuasion we bought FLP, and were able to ride most of the coasters. With the whole family however I realized that Cedar Point is not very family friendly. A few weeks later I took my older daughters and their friends, and we were able to have a lot more fun. Our 2020 trips were a disaster. Long lines, hardly anywhere to eat or use the restroom, and we rode only Steel Vengeance and Maverick in an 8 hour time period. Kings Island nailed the pandemic park opening, and Cedar Point dropped the ball. Although I now consider both parks to be a home park, and love them both for strengths and weaknesses. I would like to compare them. First Impression Pros Kings Island takes your breath away with the Eiffel Tower, and International Street as you enter the park. The flowers, building facades, and fountain are a beautiful greeting. Cedar Point is amazing as you drive up the causeway with their towering roller coasters, and the water surrounding the park and you. The excitement builds as you watch the coasters come closer. Cons Kings Island's view from the parking lot hides a lot of the rides , and the International Street Restaurant shield the beauty of International Street and the Eiffel Tower. I can envision KI taking the building down, and the anticipation of entering would grow. Once you enter Cedar Point it is a concrete jungle with no charm, nor concrete that even matches. There is no wow factor like there is at KI which is a huge letdown, after seeing the rides from a far. Edge Kings Island Cleaniness No matter how you cut it Kings Island is the cleaner of the two. Cedar Point is on a peninsula surrounded by sand, water, and seagulls. A recipe for a dirtier park. I notice the kids with brooms at KI, but cannot remember seeing them at CP. Edge Kings Island Roller Coasters Kings Island has a great collection of roller coasters for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Cedar Point also has a great collection, but they have three that make them stand out from Kings Island. Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, and Steel Vengeance, Kings Island does not have a roller coaster in my opinion that can compete with these three. Edge Cedar Point Flat Rides Cedar Point owns this topic. Kings Island cannot even compete here. Edge Cedar Point Hotels With on the property resorts, cabins, and hotels room nearby Cedar Point takes the cake for staying on the point or very near the CP. The best hotels near Kings Island are an eight to ten mile drive down to Fields Ertl. Cedar Point has done a wonderful job making sure that all the attractions you need are there for you stay. A day at their very clean beach is one of the best days of my life, and now the kids look forward to that more than the park itself. Edge Cedar Point Food Kings Island and Chef Major own the Ohio Amusement Park food wars. At Kings Island you can have a variety of meals, Cedar Point , chicken tenders it is. Half joking, but it seems to be CP's staple is Chicken Tenders. Kings Island has such a variety with the meal plan you can go days with out repeating a meal. Edge Kings Island Overall I think Kings Island is the better overall park with it being cleaner, better food, and family options. Cedar Point has the better collection of rides, but I think their target audience it teens and adults without small kids. With todays disposal family incomes becoming smaller due to the pandemic, I can see how families get more bang for their buck at KI. I love both parks, and consider them both home parks, but as I said earlier Kings Island is much more enjoyable for my whole family where as Cedar Point is a lot of fun for my older daughters and their friends when done with a FLP. To each their own. I have been to three Cedar Fair parks, but that number was to grow to six this year, but now hopefully next year. I rank them based on fun for the whole family, and the enjoyment we had there. 1. Kings Island 2. Carowinds 3. Cedar Point Next year hope to add to the rankings Michigan's Adventure, Dorney Park and Kings Dominion.
  3. I felt that way about the Raven. I was disappointed in it. After riding the Raven I could not understand how it won multiple Golden Tickets. I thought it was rough, and way too short. The turn over the water was a cool element though. I did however love the Voyage, and did not think it was rough, and the Legend was a great ride, but a tad rough. Doubt we ever go back, but Holiday World was fun to experience. Glad they are putting the TLC into their coasters.
  4. I doubt they do anything, but decorating the Eiffel Tower. It would be cool though if they just opened the restraunts and shops on International Street. I would go walk around, and buy some items.
  5. The Bansheelover family was supposed to visit this beautiful park, but we all know why we did not this year. However we will be there next June! I personally cannot wait to get 10+ rides on Shivering Timber’s.
  6. My personal wait times needs to be addressed. I believe with my support of Cedar Fair parks by 2030 CF should have a pass perk for my family and I to have Uber Fast Lane passes every visit. What is UFLP, you ask? It is a skip ahead of everyone and my choice of seat. I believe with my advance age, and my roller coaster riding days are numbered this will be a great idea for their number 1 fan.
  7. So you’re saying it’s a giper or higa?
  8. With that explanation then Fury 325 and Leviathan are hypers as well since B&M doesn’t use the term giga. A giga coaster is whatever Cedar Fair defines it. The coaster could be absolutely flat, and then drop 305ft from the station to be a giga. Who really cares what is. It’s an amazing ride that dominants the skyline. When you’re on it you’re eye level with WindSeeker. 13 ft doesn’t make a difference.
  9. Maybe the larger waterlines are need for an aqua coaster of dizzying heights?
  10. I only consider Cedar Fair operations since we have Platinum Passes.
  11. When we visited Carowinds last summer my daughters absolutely loved Ricochet. I really wish we had a wild mouse at KI. The nearest one to us is at Michigan's Adventure which we had planned on visiting just for the wild mouse this summer, but we all know why we could not. I think a wild mouse at KI would be a great addition, and would love to see it squeezed in by the Festhaus, or behind the Eiffel Tower next to BLSC.
  12. I agree with the original poster. I think a year of park upkeep and repair is needed. Make the ole park the King for its birthday.
  13. Completed my 14th trip on Orion this evening. I have rode it 2x in the front, 9 in the very back, and 3 in the middle. The front is most intense ride in the park. The wind whipping your face, and staring down the 300ft drop is intense. I did gray out a little on the helix tonight on the front. Very forceful. The middle I feel you're just along for the ride. Nice ejector air on the speed hill, but nothing amazing. The back is a lot of fun feels like you're holding on a runaway train. The first drop is very forceful which feels like you're getting popped out of your seat. The airtime is long and drawn out on the return hills, and the helix seems like it last forever. The last turn and hill to break run makes it feel like you will shot into the woods. The elements of Orion are fun, and fast. That is pretty much all I ask for. To compare it Fury or Millennium Force isn't fair. They're closer to the ground, and feel like you're in a race car. Orion feels like you are in a plane soaring above. I do enjoy the drop on Orion more so than Millennium Force it is steeper and feels like a free fall. Fury's drop feels like you've been shot out of canon. I am glad Kings Island has their giga coaster. It will bring thrills for years to come. It is a crowd pleaser, and very fun. My giga rankings 1. Fury 325 longer, faster, taller my overall favorite coaster. 2. Orion the drop and ejector air is amazing. 3. Millennium Force it is a speed demon, but get better seat belts, rode it twice last week, got kicked off the third time for my seat belt not fastening. yet to ride Intimidator 305 supposed to ride this year, but will in 2021. Leviathan will be rode in 2022.
  14. As horrible as 2020 has been on our summer. I have been fortunate it enough to visit the park 15 times. Each time I have had a meal. All 16 of my meals have been hot , fresh, and delicious. Better than I can make myself. Ranking my meals by tiers. Tier 1 Pub Burger hot fresh, and my go to burger when I really want a hamburger. Fish Sandwich hot fresh with the perfect crunch. Space Hoagie blew my mind. The "condiments" on the sausage were really unique and full of flavor. Wish I could make this Chicken and sweet potato from Coney. I can't replicate the chicken. My favorite meal. Family doesn't like coney bbq Both salads at the Brewhouse. Really wish you could substitute the tots for a half salad. Tier 2 Panda kids love, I never venture away from double orange and the noodles. Has been fresh the 5 times I have had to eat it. Juke Box cheeseburger hot fresh, and tasty. Fries were undercooked that is what knocks it down. Chicken Tenders from Chicken Shack. Once again hot fresh, and fast. Does its job when I was in a pinch. Tom and Cheese BBQ is pretty good, but have had it twice first time would have put in tier 1, but the second wasn't melted or something as good. Drops it here. Tier 3 Chicken Sandwich from Chicken Shack. No condiments, dry, and stale. Will just go to Chic Fil A if I want a chicken sandwich. LaRosa's from Festhaus. Had been sitting out, cold, cheese was hardening. Not making that mistake again. Wanted something other than panda paid the price. Have not gone to Hank's this season can't talk the kids into it. Never been to Subway too slow. Usually go to eat at the Brewhouse and catch a few rides. I found myself craving the Brewhouse during the off season. Overall the food and service have been fantastic. The selection is perfect for me. Has a variety of things I like, and I try to try everything at the Brewhouse and Coney BBQ every season.
  15. There’s still two pieces left laying on the ground at that the site. Do what you have to do.
  16. Probably too late now, but KI should've had made The Vortex pit the smoker's lounge. Slide down into the mud, and climb back up. Would have been a new ride.

  18. I don’t wear a mask, but if a business requires is like Costco I suck it up and do it. Since Kings Island will, and my kids want to go. Mask it is.
  19. I was using the pandemic as an excuse not to up my weight loss, program. Now I'm going to have to go back to my wrestling days in high school to drop weight.
  20. Some news out of Cedar Fair today. https://ir.cedarfair.com/news/news-details/2020/Cedar-Fair-Expands-Its-Suite-of-Mobile-Apps-to-Promote-a-Healthy-Smart-and-Fun-Filled-Guest-Experience-When-Parks-Reopen/default.aspx
  21. No, the park will be busy enough with everyone wanting to do something. May have to limit the amount of people in the park.
  22. https://southwhitehall.com/news/april-16-2020-planning-commission-public-notice/ Dorney Park and Cedar Fair have withdrawn from the meeting. I wouldn't think the plan is dead, just put on hold until the pandemic is over. I am willing to bet the township has more exigent circumstances to deal with.
