  1. All those reasons that you stated are very viable and valid options given the financial capabilities of Cedar Fair and Six Flags. However, I feel I can speak for all enthusiasts who know about the late Will Koch and the family ordeal that occurred after his tragic and abrupt passing. To make a long story filled with legal family arguments and many severed relationships. 70 years ago Holiday World was founded by So Louis J. Koch, two generations later So Louis J. Koch's grandson (Will Koch) took management over Holiday World and it's operations. Will's innovation lead to two great CCI coasters that call Holiday world home. The Legend and The Raven truly put Holiday World onto the map and enabled a larger woodie to rise out of the wooded, southwestern Indiana wilderness. In 2001 Will tragically passed away due to diabetes complications. As result his widow, Lori Koch took control of the park. Will's brother Dan Koch was promoted to interim president, however, due to severe disputes and disagreements Lori fired Dan completely destroying a family. Dan and his mother (Pat Koch) moved down to Alabama to form Alabama Splash Adventure. The dry park features Rampage, a 120 foot, terrain twisting, CCI woodie. Though unlikely, I would love to see Dan and Pat rekindle their severed ties with Lori and the rest of the Koch family. Similar to Herschend Family Entertainment, who owns both Dollywood and Silver Dollar City. I feel the only way that Holiday World can endure the brutal amusement business in the Midwest is if the Koch's would reunite and invest equally in both parks. Hopefully, love and family will prevail in this situation possibly preserving the fate of Holiday World and Splashin' Safari. Sorry KI, I hope to see a classic, family-run park succeed!
  2. I was watching the most recent Koaster Kids video and quickly noticed @malem riding on the final train of the season on The Beast, with shorts and a t-shirt. Your a very brave man! Malem can be seen at around 8:35...
  3. Sadly my last trip to KI was on Sunday August 13th. The day was very fun as my nine year old took his first lap on Mystic (Picture soon to come). However, I closed the night wanting to grab a new credit, being Woodstock Express. They were only running one train operations leaving me waiting 20 minutes just to get one ride. Since my brother rarely ever goes to KI, I also wanted to grab the elusive Great Pumpkin Coaster credit. To my surprise, my GP parents swooped us up an hour before closing. That sums up my last ride of the 2017 season.
  4. All of those platforms would be very compatible with podcasts. Some of my favorite podcasts include: Coaster Radio, In The Loop and Coaster Buzz. Some very cool ideas would be guest interviews, construction updates, debates, (these would be very interesting and different) and trip reports. I enjoy those coaster podcasts, however they all are very broad and vague on specific parks. A KIC podcast wouldn't just help expand KIC, but also strengthen the unity of the community. I'm 100% for this idea and would LOVE to make this dream a reality!
  5. A smokehouse in Coney Mall would bring life back to the somewhat dilapidated area. My nose can already smell those juicy, barbecued ribs radiating throughout Coney Mall. Plus, who doesn't love some good homemade ribs!
  6. Millennium Flyer trains could possibly transform The Racer's ride experience. The Millennium Flyer trains are "the ONLY trains that can negotiate the highly twisted track configurations of a GCI roller coaster" (GCI). The only problem that GCI could run into with installing Millennium Flyer trains is Racer's track configuration compared to other GCI's. I don't know if the width of The Racer's track is compatible with the width of Mystic's track, however, I'm sure GCI could create custom width trains for The Racer somewhat similar to what B&M did with Banshee due to the wider vest restraints. I could just imagine popping over those airtime hills and feeling the clock rewind 40+ years. Information regarding the compatibility of the trains
  7. Here comes an unpopular opinion... I would be fascinated if Huss were to re-design their "topple tower" design. Yes, structural flaws plagued the past models such as, Timber Tower at Dollywood and Ornen at Somnerland, however, if designed correctly the attraction could supply thrills for all ages. The visual appearance of the ride has proven to be worthy, strong theming elements and bright colors make the ride look appealing. I think the tower could stand in Coney Mall where Flight Commander once stood, and would be themed somewhat like the past attraction. The theming is half the appeal...
  8. Back in the year of 2012 when the structure of Son Beast was still standing much speculation was generated throughout the "GP" community. I overheard an older gentleman with his family discussing the tragedy in which Son of Beast inflicted onto an unlucky train of riders. He stated that "The train flew off the lift hill, this caused the riders to go flying into the parking lot killing hundreds of innocent onlookers." During that period I wasn't an avid enthusiast, however, I did possess common sense, resulting in myself to laugh out loud in cringing laughter.
  9. An evil technological breakthrough has been lurking around the queue lines of Kings Island. What is this awful, brainwashing breakthrough you may ask? FUN TV (*Insert evil, demonic voice).   10. "Power hour" also commonly known as "efficiency hour" seems to be a subject of debate in the community of enthusiasts. I have been subjected to this technique a few times and contrary to many opinions, I actually enjoyed the process. Yes, ride ops can skimp on routine restraint checks and rush riders, however, waiting 20 minutes opposed to 45 in the brutal southern Ohio heat is much preferred, in my opinion. I personally enjoy when the Diamondback crew does this as the trains rarely ever stack.[mention=8280]VortexBFForever[/mention], from past experience, Vortex' crew performs with GREAT efficiency and never skimps on restraints. Keep up the amazing work on my favorite Arrow looper [emoji4]!
  11. Loved the interview! I found it very odd how he really did seem to downplay the removal of Dino's. You could truly take his statements in any direction you would like. I'm sure when Mike was asked about the removal of specific musical genres he thought, "Geese, enthusiasts really do pick up on those details."
  12. Recently, the track work for Steel Vengeance was 100% completed. We were lucky enough to have Tony Clark shoot a video of this historic event. The RMC installation crew will he heading down to Doswell for the next few months to complete Twisted Timbers. Both rides will likely get rave reviews next year. To note, I find it funny that Tony Clark joked about the testing process .
  13. According to Tony Clark and Cedar Point track work is 100% finished on Steel Vengeance. RMC did a superb job with the layout as well as the construction. Hopefully, RMC continues to stay ahead of schedule.
  14. This past Saturday I visited my first horror maze of the season. As some of my buddies often know me for my "bravery" on coasters they wanted to see how I would react on the spot, to horror actors and jumps scares. We visited Scareatorium, "Columbus' priemer haunted house". However I was let down with a quite bland, expensive ($22 for general admission), And not so frightening experience. The scare actors were decent however, didn't try to conceal their ways. To put this into perspective, voices of scare actors talking amongst others could be heard while I was walking through the maze. I have gathered some photos via Scareatorium's site and wanted to share. To note, I only have TRULY visited Cedar Points haunt, in comparison of price, quality and fear factor I was quite let down with Scareatorium.
  15. It seems as if Steel Vengeance's track work is 99% finished, as it appears only one to two pieces of track have yet to be installed. Today, the first piece of vertical, first drop track was placed onto the structure. I'm sure by this time next week mechanical work will have already started.   16. Many enthuasist including myself want to see more then just a coaster in X-base yet, an immersive, themed and interactive area. Ironically, Toverland in Kronenberg, Netherlands announced what they would be receiving in 2018 and here are the results... Queue Theming... The B&M Wingcoaster (Fenix) If the ride itself is half as good as the train design, then the Dutch are in for a real treat! An interactive, interesting and in-depth themed section will be coming to Toverland in 2018. This park expansion will include a new B&M Wing coaster that interacts with the front gate (Hmmmm. Wonder where they got that from?) by the name of Fenix. The coaster will be over 2,667 feet long, reach a maximum height of 131 feet, top speeds close to 60 mph, and will contain 3 inversions. The icing on the cake however is a boat ride manufactured by Mack Rides. The ride will interact with Fenix and will take riders on a 12 minute, mystical journey. I would LOVE to see Kings Island create a strongly themed section of the park with many flats, coasters (A B&M giga could be flattering if done correctly) and eateries.

The way the coaster dips and weaves throughout the forest, as well as the seamless and picturesque environment, makes everything about this coaster brilliant. The trees seem to be immense and the way the water glistens is somewhat tranquil. Not to mention, the way the coaster effortlessly plummets into the ravines. The coaster from a first glance reminds me of an "Outlaw Run" or "Lightning Rod", yet the beautiful B&M supports and track immediately remind any enthusiast of "Fury 325" or "Leviathan". The transitions are seamless and heart lined perfectly, and the tunnels remind me of Fury's "Hive Dive" or even The Beasts double helix tunnel. The Coaster combines the elements of a B&M but most impressively delivers from a terrain element.

Huge shoutout to the RMC crew as well as Cedar Point. I have a really strong feeling that this ride may truly be the best RMC and dare I say best steel coaster, we will have to wait until May to judge.

RMC is making excellent progress and track work is 95% finished. The top of the lift and the first drop are expected to be finished in the upcoming week. Mechanical work (Computer systems, Braking systems and the lift) as well as clean-up is expected to begin in October. If everything goes smoothly testing may begin as early as December.   20. Could you imagine the energy of that announcement!? "The largest capital investment of this parks 46 years, comes Centurion, the worlds tallest, fastest and longest giga coaster."   21. Exactly. I received a lot of disagreeing opinions in my last post about he possibility of giga coming in 2019. Like what you said, the attendance of parks speaks for itself and Kings Island is definitely worthy and deserving of a giga in 2019. About Knott's Berry Farm, Yes, Knott's is located in the heart of SoCal but I personally feel you hear so much more about Cedar Points attendance opposed to SFMM's due to the fact, that in the Midwest there is more priority on amusement parks. Look at states such as Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and New Mexico, not one large park in any one of those states.
  22. Recently an incident on Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. It appears that the catch car collided with the magnetic brakes, destroying a part of the ride. As many know, the coaster has developed a bad wrap due to its EXTREME amounts of downtime. This can't help Intamin's already fractured relationship Cedar Fair.

  24. Too soon? Yes it would be a HUGE capital investment yet, Kings Island has some of the highest attendance in the park chain. Cedar Fair has invested yearly into Cedar Point due to its extreme attendance and I believe they would do the same thing for Kings Island. Look at the pattern since Cedar Fair purchased Kings Island: 2009: Diamondback 5 Years... 2014: Banshee 3 Years... 2017: Mystic Timbers 2 Years... 2019: Giga The trend does show that Kings Island has received lots of love from Cedar Fair in the last 8 years and I believe that this will only increase, as this year seems the attendance is substantially greater. Another strong point is the fact that Cedar Point is landlocked and can only become so great. I wouldn't be shocked if Cedar Fair were to decide to make Kings Island the premier park of the chain in the near future. To achieve this feat a giga in the foreseeable future is a MUST.
