  1. The only other interesting thing in the fair guidelines released by DeWine that may or may not be applicable to amusement parks is the building capacity and concessions mandatory requirements. Building capacity mentions max group size in queue, seating areas, ect. is set by the state, but can use barriers if not possible. Self service beverage at concessions will be permitted, but buffet and sampling will not be allowed. (Big one since I can't even get my own coffee in Indiana lol)
  2. Acton signed new orders Friday night with a July 1 expiration date, that included amusement parks and fairs, which is what is causing confusion for everyone right now.
  3. The Ohio County Fair guidelines released has an interesting section on amusement rides requirements. "Any operation of amusement rides must be in compliance with all Executive Orders, Orders of the Ohio Department of Health, and the standards for ride operators and riders outlined for amusement rides by the Travel and Tourism Advisory Group (forthcoming)" So any guidance for the ride operators will be coming from the same Advisory group, and IF they can make up their mind on what date fairs can take place they will need the guidelines soon.
  4. Looks like some work around Diamondback lift hill, maybe we'll get to see some test runs in a few days if they fill the pond.
  5. No way in heck would I risk a visit or my $ with a system like that. Could definitely turn into bad PR if they don't resolve refunds or the ticketing quickly.
  6. I've only had to deal with Siemens PLC for 20+yo CNC machines. There are so many "hidden" variables that need a separate laptop connected to view it's kinda crazy.
  7. I'd assume they wouldn't do away with touchless restraint checks for child rides, or would have to close them. Too high of a risk to depend on little kids.
  8. I just listened to the actual press conference and having a bit of doubt about next week announcement. The Q about parks at the 35min mark isn't too clear if he means an announcement or not. "As far as amusement parks, zoos, ect. we are going to try to address that next week. That's still being worked on so we'll be back in touch with everybody next week." Almost sounds like they plan to talk with the tourism group next week, not necessarily announce anything to the public.
  9. According to my "communication" and presentation class supposed to "tell you what I'm going to tell you", then "tell you", and finally "repeat what I told you". So guess we are at phase 1 of communicating?
  10. Hopefully details will be released in the coming days. Assume the reservation system will allow someone to reserve for their whole party. And same with a questionnaire and mobile ordering.
  11. With no waterpark until July I know some people who've chose to wait a couple weeks. Guess those may be more telling days?
  12. Missouri state goes into Phase 2 June 1st which limits at 50% capacity for large entertainment venues, but some local governments are extending orders. Maybe World of Fun could be close?
  13. That was how many days ago? At the rate things change it's hard telling anymore.
  14. Think North Carolina needs to be at phase 2 maybe before reopening at reduced capacities which is 2-3 weeks after phase 1. I don't know what they are at right now. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://files.nc.gov/governor/documents/files/NC-3-PHASE-PLAN.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjyxM6F0tTpAhW0Ap0JHbAsByQQFjAGegQIBRAB&usg=AOvVaw1D3CFBwKokEp8v908xlQM5
  15. Is it app checkin or go to a person/kiosk checkin? Does seem odd unless people just assume it's made right away and they'll show up with it. Only mobile order system I've experienced in a park is the mouse.
  16. The good news is I remember reading FUN already tested the mobile ordering. And they already use the same developer that has virtual queue tech developed for ticket purchases. Hopefully it's a matter of working out a rhythm more than tons of additional training hours.
  17. Wonder if they ever get self conscious knowing there's cameras . It'd be hard for me not to work there and wave once in awhile lol
  18. That's the normal week for us to start. Get the first Friday in October (we have Oktoberfest here), Wednesday before Thanksgiving, depending on which day it falls maybe a few extra days after New Years Day, then 1 week spring break in early to mid March before a long stretch to end of school couple days before Memorial Day. Didn't realize it was a Saturday the school needs to correct their calendar then, I was going off what they emailed to kid lol. Definitely leave little room for visiting seasonal themeparks, without my work schedule included.
  19. I saw they weren't going to separate small parties. The temp scan apparently accepts hats also?
  20. I'm booked for July 10th-16th for my 40th Birthday, would have been the first I've been able to celebrate since I turned 21. Then we were supposed to be at Orion First Rider since the kid managed to meet the goal (poor kid busted her butt). So it's stressing me out waiting for answer what the heck is going to be done, if or when. Can't pull the kid from school and hers is scheduled to start Aug 8th I'm not sure of CP property capacity but dont see them as more than 20-25% of total park capacity if every room and occupancy is met.
