  1. To all those getting their final Vortex rides this weekend I hope you enjoy it.
  2. You’re able to be an enthusiast and still be able to realize different perspectives other then your own.
  3. There have been several post since the cameras have gone down that have shown construction progress and there will continue to be photos of construction with or without the camera. There’s no need to keep beating this dead horse & flooding this thread complaining & debating about the camera. If you want to keep doing that then it’d be better in my opinion to create a thread and discuss it.
  4. Seems pretty stagnant performance with only 1 million dollars in increased revenue. Attendance was up by a decent margin though. https://investors.sixflags.com/news-and-events/press-releases/2019/10-22-2019-210441595
  5. So bizarre to have adult/teen water slides themed to Elmo. I’m curious if they see a decline in those markets, I just have a hard time seeing teenagers say “let’s go to Sesame Place and ride the Cookie Monster!”. Maybe I’m over estimating how much of a market share that group of people currently represent.
  6. Can’t believe in one week Vortex will be closed for ever.
  7. Still feels unreal that I only have one more day to ride Vortex.
  8. It definitely has a large value to the park as it’s arguably the most intimidating rollercoaster there. It’s a huge statement to have a 420 ft tall coaster at your park. I wonder though that if that’ll remain true in 10 or 20 years to justify its maintenance cost.
  9. Crazy how much downtime the ride has, I don’t even want to imagine how much they’ve spent on supporting the ride.
  10. Kings Island vs Cedar Point has nothing to do with Orion’s Construction. This thread keeps getting so off topic.
  11. I believe they’re 12 or 13 dollars. If you don’t buy them don’t be that concerned about being scared in the scare zones. For the most part you can see the scare actors coming and since there’s so many people walking through the paths you aren’t that likely to be targeted by them a lot.
  12. Yep it has been installed https://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/kings-island-gives-sneak-peek-of-orion-construction
  13. Only excuse I heard was that management wanted it that way.
  14. Why is half the parking lot closed.... this is ridiculous
  15. A lot of people end up coming later in the evening during Haunt.
  16. The tracer lights are fairly dated (and not in the best looking condition) yeah they could put in on another ride but at this point it’d probably be easier to just order new ones.
  17. That’s kind of pointless In my honest opinion. they could easily just hire a firm and produce a better produce.
  18. I’m sure they hired an outside firm to produce the commercials. I wouldn’t hold my breath though, Yukon Striker & Copperhead haven’t received these animated commercials sadly. I personally love them. edit - Found them - https://carbonvfx.com/ 2nd edit - They wrote an article about Mystic Timbers editing process - https://carbonvfx.com/work/vfx/cedar-fair-mystic-timbers/
  19. That’s what I’m betting they do, seems like a pretty good location for a haunt maze.
  20. Wonder what a coat of paint could do to a rollercoaster (Cough cough Racer)
  21. I don’t see The Bat going anywhere soon, the park isn’t going to take out several rollercoasters so close to one another, I get I said the same thing about Vortex but I just don’t see it happening. Canada’s Wonderland maintenance team sounded like they were committed to keeping The Bats brother supported so I can only hope Kings Island maintenance team feels the same way.
  22. The signs that are in the station would be great on a few t shirts... really wish there was some merchandise. Also shout out to the ride ops tonight.
  23. I believe Diamondback is also open for ERT.
