If you set it near the entrance portal, it is possible that security or park services took it as loose articles are not allowed to be set there. If security took it, though, it would probably have been turned into lost and found. If you set it near the lockers or anywhere else, it was probably stolen.

However, the Infinity Flyer trains were really designed with the Titan Track in mind, so it makes the most sense for them to be used on a new Titan Track hybrid. Also, World’s of Fun’s permit filings mention Daniel Peak as the engineer. He works for Skyline attractions which is the company that makes GCI’s Titan Track and designs GCI layouts. Worlds of Fun already has a GCI wooden rollercoaster in Prowler, so a Titan Track hybrid is really all that makes sense for the park to differentiate the new ride from Prowler.
-
This is really exciting! I am excited to see what a GCI ground-up hybrid coaster looks like with the new trains. They look better than RMC trains in my opinion. It is even more exciting that this new rollercoaster is going to a Cedar Fair park. It gives me hope that Kings Island will see a new ground-up hybrid coaster someday. With Worlds of Fun having both an out and back GCI in Prowler and a new Titan Track Hybrid, I don’t see why Kings Island couldn’t also get a hybrid coaster with Mystic Timbers already in their lineup.

Berlin and A Flock of Seagulls Perform at KI

The concert last night looked really well attended. I wasn’t there, but from the number of available tickets and pictures I have seen, the crowd looks solid. This is also with the Cincinnati Music Festival going on at the same time, so it is impressive attendance was as good as it was. -
Does it not play anymore?

It looks like Halloween Haunt is being expanded this year to include three Sundays in October. Kings Island’s website says that Halloween Haunt will run from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on select Sundays. What are your thoughts on this move?

The issue with line jumping is that I don’t think people even realize they are doing it sometimes. When someone leaves line to go to the bathroom and later rejoins the line or when they catch up to their family in line, I feel like the people don’t even know they are line jumping. This is a big issue at so many parks. People just don’t always understand what they are doing. -
It is sad to see such a policy from Cedar Fair. Knott’s Berry Farm is punishing the people that do behave. I wonder how many people on this site would feel if they were a well-behaved 17-year old who couldn’t go to Kings Island by themselves. This could very well be a test. Notice how Knott’s Berry Farm said this policy is in effect until further notice. Cedar Fair is probably going to see what the effect is of such a policy is and evaluate it from there. I am hopeful that this policy stays far away from Kings Island. After last May, Kings Island invested a lot into new security protocols when they could have also put a chaperone policy in place. The problem has gotten better, and I hope Kings Island steers clear of implementing a chaperone policy.
-
I actually have not used it myself, but I have heard it works very well. I know that does not mean too much, but I will say that I have been at Kings Island when security kicked kids out of the park and subsequently banned them after a ride operator called security to report them for line jumping. Usually ride operators just kick line jumpers out of line themselves and don’t let them ride, but security showed up and escorted the kids out of the park.
-
People like that need to be kicked out of the park and be banned for at least a period of time. I really do not think a chaperone policy is the move, however, as it punishes people who behave just fine. I think Kings Island needs to weed out the bad apples by kicking them out and banning them (which the park does when security catches these people). I know this is not a full proof method, but it helps. I also can not stress enough how helpful the security hotline is when it comes to dealing with unruly guests. If you see something bad, text the hotline, and security will kick the offenders out of the park and ban them. Security will kick offenders out and ban them even when it comes to line jumping and having a phone out on a ride.

I do agree that security has improved a lot over the past two years. In terms of crowds, I feel that Soak City is under equipped to handle busy weekends crowds. Even on some busy weekdays, it seems that there are way too many people there for the size of the water park.
-
I never saw a sign at the White Water Canyon overlook, but I definitely saw a sticker on the sign where the entrance and exit split off into two different paths. Granted this was a few weeks ago, but I definitely saw a sticker.
-
I agree that Kings Island is a very well run park, especially in terms of operations. I mean, what other park transfers all trains onto their coasters on a dead, rainy weekday? None immediately come to mind. On busy weekdays, even Cedar Point does not run all their trains on their most popular rides. I just know that Kings Island can be so much more with more attention to detail. Small stuff like either filling or removing the hand sanitizer stations, repairing broken theming and display board, and cleaning off the junk on the roof of Diamondback’s transfer shed would go a long way.
-
It is running both trains?

I don’t particularly like the Fun TV’s either, but I still think it looks bad when they are all broken in the queue lines. It gives off the appearance like the park is negligent and doesn’t care.
-
To what extent, though, is it unfair to consider the park negligent. I personally do not believe Kings Island is negligent as a whole with maintenance, but I think it is more than fair to say Kings Island is negligent with theming and technology upkeep. I hope management realizes this and makes and conscious effort to fix what has been lost.
-
While I think Kings Island looks really good this year with its many off-season improvements, there are a few things that don’t look so good, seemingly from a lack of upkeep. A few things that I wish the park would address are listed below: - The interactive display boards throughout the park are either super dim an unusable or completely off (they are off in most cases). It would be better if these were just removed and replaced with physical park maps and directional signs. - Some rides, specifically Mystic Timbers, Diamondback, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and the Train have little to no FUN TV’s working in the queues. - Mystic Timbers’ theming has really declined over the past year. On top of the FUN TV’s being out in the queue, one of the TV’s with security footage is completely off with the other being super dim and quiet. The lights in the shed no longer flicker like they did even earlier this season. The spiel on the staircase about “jump starting an old truck in the lumber mill and getting out of here” is no longer playing. The first speaker in the Fast Lane line is out and not playing the soundtrack like it should. - Area 72’s theming has also declined. Orion’s soundtrack no longer plays in the station. Many of the lights around the area are also off. - Empty hand sanitizer stations are still all around the park. Where the park has removed the hand sanitizer stations like on Orion and Banshee, there is still a metal plate screwed in where they were. Why not just take the extra few minutes to remove the whole thing? This list is not meant to throw shade at the park or put the park down. I am simply mentioning these things because I know Kings Island can do better, but it seems like management doesn’t care. I know management does care about the park, though. With tons of theming out, TV’s and display boards broken, and useless remnants of hand sanitizer stations littered throughout the park, it does give off the impression, though, that management doesn’t care. That is what the average guest would think, anyways. I know Kings Island can do better, and I really want to see it happen. My hope is that these issues can be brought to Kings Island’s attention, so they can address them. Especially regarding Mystic Timbers’ and Orion’s theming. The theming is part of the experience. It is only as effective as it can be, though, if it all works.

The Bat could just be down for any technical difficulties. They have to fence off the exit to prevent people from going back there.
-
The operators can still soak people from Tower 2, and that does get guests wet. I wish operators could still soak people from Tower 3.
-
There is something fun about having a person blast you, though. People aren’t perfect. You never know if they are going to miss you or completely drench you. That is the fun of White Water Canyon. You never know if you are going to come off barely wet or soaked. Sensors would probably deliver a consistent, calculated blast of water, but that takes a lot of the fun out of it.
-
I didn’t now that the operator could control the blasters at Tower 3 at one point. Today, only the guests can fire those water cannons. I guess right now nobody can fire them. It would be cool if Kings Island let the employees activate the blasters when guests aren’t actively paying to use them. That section is not very fun when nobody is firing the water cannons. The employees are generally better with aim, too. The guests often miss the boats completely.
-
The operator could never blast people from that area. Guests can only do that. The operator can only hit people from the area before it.
-
Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of the sign. I can describe where it is, though. In the queue, when the entrance and exit split off, the exit sign says Canyon Blasters. A red sticker that says “coming soon” is placed over the “Canyon Blasters” on the exit sign. The canons do remain. However, the coin machine and the controllers are gone. In my mind, it makes sense to update the controllers as some of them have been broken for years. Also, Kings Island could install new controllers that accept credit card payments straight up instead of having to buy tokens.
-
Does anyone know what happened to the White Water Canyon Blasters? They are missing, and while there is a sticker that says “coming soon” on a sign, they have been gone all summer.
