Queue Times is as accurate as the mobile app. The only problem is the mobile app is not very accurate.

Based on Queue Times, it seems like Orion is operating today. I cannot confirm it actually is operating today, though.

Cedar Fair should have stuck with Consign. I believe Consign did do Mystic Timbers’s programming and control system, but Orion would probably be a lot more reliable if Consign programmed it like they did Diamondback, Banshee, Fury 325, and Levitathan. At the end of the day, the only way for Orion to become more reliable might be a new control system which is not good for it being so new.

I think multiple people were stabbed, but only one was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. I get this from other news articles. I am glad it wasn’t any worse. https://www.wlwt.com/amp/article/kings-island-camp-cedar-stabbing-investigation-warren-county-sheriffs-office/39805808

I hate to say it, but Orion is very unreliable for a B&M or really for a coaster in general. It has been open for almost two years now, and it is still very unreliable. It is down way more than Diamondback and Banshee and most other coasters at Kings Island.

Has anyone noticed that in addition to the Fun TV’s being out in Mystic Timbers’ queue, the audio recordings before you enter the station are also gone. The recordings consisted of a couple people talking about there being something in the shed and people needing to flee.

Has Kings Island confirmed they will finish repainting The Racer? Today, it seemed like no more had been painted since last week.
-
For being the second weekend of operations, the operations were much worse than opening weekend in terms of ride downtime.
-
I haven’t heard anything about fights, but what those “fights” you are hearing might be is actually a reported altercation at Camp Cedar. Not a good night at all. The first few weeks seem to be tough.

Did the trains actually touch? From the picture, it looks like the trains were close to colliding but did not make any real contact.
-
I sense one train ops coming for a little while. I would not be surprised if other B&M gigas and maybe even hypers suffer the same fate.

Any updates on Tower Gardens?

I honestly think it will be a family coaster as the plot of land is perfect for one, and Cedar Point lacks many family coasters. Something like a MACK multi-launch like Manta at SeaWorld San Diego or a GCI wooden rollercoaster would really work great there. The later could be a bit extreme for a family coaster, but the height requirement would be low enough for some younger kids. The only issue with a wooden coaster on the boardwalk, however, is that it would block views of Lake Erie.

TimberWolf definitely looks like it is being maintained, so it will be very interesting to see what happens there over the next few years.

The grass area behind Diamondback’s brake shed would be a great VIP location as it is in less busy area of the park and does not get in the way of anything else. That area in general could be a good festival area in the future.

I agree the sign looks a little small. It also seems like there are way less flowers around the entrance sign than in years past. The past few years, I have really enjoyed the landscaping around the entrance sign and the rest of the park, but this year there were not nearly as many flowers even considering that the flowers have not matured yet. I know landscaping is not always complete when the park opens, so I hope the park adds some more landscaping around the 50th Anniversary sign and the rest of the park. There was a noticeable lack of flowers in Planet Snoopy, around the Eiffel Tower, and in Coney Mall compared to just last year. I understand, though, that the park opened earlier compared to last year, so the landscaping may not be finished.

I assume the lighting and sounds has been removed due to no big show being there this year. Hopefully, they bring back the lighting and sound equipment for Halloween Haunt and Winterfest.

I agree thatCedar Fair really needs to figure out how to report accurate wait times. Also, Kings Island needs to do something with those interactive display boards throughout the park that mostly don’t work. Those boards are supposed to show wait times, but they literally don’t do anything.
-
Every 1-2 hours, the park calls operators at each ride and asks for the wait time. This can be VERY inaccurate, though, as an operator could report a short wait time if the ride just opened following a downtime or for whatever reason. Also, new operators or operators from other rides will not be able to judge a wait time at an unfamiliar ride, so they may not always report the most accurate wait time if they are the ones answering the phone. Usually, ride wait times in the middle of the day when the park is busier tend to underestimate the actual wait times as the wait times were reported earlier in the day when the park was less busy. On the other hand, ride wait times towards the end of the day tend to overestimate the actual wait times as the wait times were reported during peak hours when the park was busier. I find this system to be flawed, personally, because of the inaccuracies in wait times.

I wouldn’t say it was miserably crowded. It was crowded for sure, but I don’t think it was like last year where Passholder Preview Weekend was on a weekend in May. The weather on Friday was also pretty nice which always brings in more crowds. In 2019, I think it was rainy on Passholder Preview Day, so the park was pretty empty.
-
Passholder Preview Day is like a Saturday in July with the crowd levels every year. Many of the employees are also new, slowing down operations in food and on rides. However, I think Kings Island had a smoother opening than a park like Carowinds or California’s Great America that only had one train running on some rides. The rides side of things was pretty smooth at Kings Island yesterday for the most part. A few rides broke down which is to be expected early in the season, and I think all rides that were open were running at max capacity except for Backlot Stunt Coaster. A major reason why food lines were slow is because of the system crashes. Hopefully, Kings Island gets that fixed soon. Over the next few weeks, I am sure Kings Island will put the finishing touches on many unfinished things around the park, and operations will be smooth.

I am hoping for a Legacy Walk in Tower Gardens!

I don’t think the return run on The Racer was ever re-tracked. Only the outward run and the turnarounds have been recently re-tracked.

It appears that in Rivertown, Diamondback Trading Post, Miami River Brewhouse, Rivertown Auntie Anne’s, and the Rivertown Arcade and Coca-Cola building were repainted. They looked great! Miami River Brewhouse looked much better with fresh paint and without the pictures of food on the outside. Also, it looks like Hank’s Mexican Grill got a repaint as well as the First Aid building in Planet Snoopy. Overall, the park looked really good even though some stuff looked incomplete. In addition to what others have said, some of the landscaping appeared incomplete, and Backlot Stunt Coaster only had two trains ready. These things will probably be addressed in the coming weeks, but still, the park looked really good today!

As much as I love new coasters, I really want to see Planet Snoopy gets some love I am hopeful that some love is on the way soon in the form at a retheme, but I have to admit, I kind of think Flying Ace Aeriel Chase, Woodstock Whirlybirds, and SurfDog getting repainted are not good signs for a retheme. Planet Snoopy just looks kind of tacky and dated right now.
