Instead of "People of Walmart" It will be the Smokers of KI. Could be fun to include all the stupid acts also

In 2017 my wife and girl got BBQ at a place beside Mystic Timbers. My wife got sick and my youngest girl did not feel well after either. it was not a ride issue because my wife does not ride anything. I can't remember what the place was called but I got a hamburger and was not very good at all. I am wondering how this place compares to the BBQ at Coney BBQ or is it the same thing?

They are set up many time to just go in their suits. I suppose there may be people do that here, lol

So I print the Gold Pass ticket and take it to KI and they give me the passes there? Where do I go there to get them? I thought they would mail them to me but don't look like it. Will this same ticket get me free parking till I get the pass or do I have to pay parking the first time?

Orion Coming to Kings Island in 2020

Will the first rides me auctioned off on eBay? -
So what happens if you loose the gold pas card? Is it registered to your name so that you can get a new one or are you just out of luck?
-
Is it normal these days for them to auction off the first ride?

Maybe this has already been said but just noticed that Thursday night will be a full moon... Maybe nothing to it but...

I love that idea. They could even put up history boards for the people waiting in line. I think many adults would love it but you would have to have something more focused on the kids I believe. Maybe still do a history themed ride but somewhere like the old Days of Thunder building. By the way, what is that building and Tomb Raider buildings used for now?

I agree. Would love to see something new there.

I will tell on myself a little here. Back around 1985 to 1987 area I should have been kicked out of the park. We were kicked off of some rides. We went to the old cars first and noticed that they had brakes. You had to lift the pedal up and it would make it stop. I would go full throttle and then my friend would lift up as I let off. It would sequel the tires as they locked up. We got kicked off.... We then went to the kids cars that were like the old cars but for younger kids. We wanted to see if it would do the same thing but it didn't. Next to that old track was a ball pit and some balls come out of the pit and near the track so my buddy jumped out and grabbed the three balls. We got kicked off of that car ride also. We then went to the Smurf ride and had rubber bands with us. We were shooting the characters with the rubber bands and then threw the three balls we gathered earlier on the car ride. We later was on the Eiffel Tower tossing paper airplanes off. We got one to land on the big slide that use to be somewhere around where the Diamondback station is now. We got caught and kicked off. I should have had my butt kicked and tossed out. If a single park person knew about all 4 cases I am sure we would have been.

Just found these decals. I got them in 1987, the first year for The Vortex. I have more Vortex stuff somewhere. I also have an old frisbee for the original Bat where The Vortex is now. I have not seen that frisbee for years but I know it is here somewhere.

I was around 7 years old and rode The Racer. Roughly 1981. I was a dare devil at that age but I did NOT like The Racer and never rode another one till I was about 10 years old. Then I fell in love with any and all roller coasters and rides.

Question on what I can bring in park
jensenracing77 replied to joelcschwartz's topic in Kings Island
We have never had a problem bringing water bottles in the park. There was a family behind us last week that had a little girl in a wagon they were pulling. The wagon had 6-8 water bottles hanging off of it and the lady at the ticket booth did not say a word. The park has the water bottle refill stations so you can refill them also. We take the little Kool Aid squeeze bottle mix also so that you can at least have a flavored drink. -
We will be there 5 times next year but will likely only be in that parking area 2 times. It is not just the cost of the food but also the quality. Most food I have ever had there, other than the pizza, was not good at all. My wife got sick after eating the BBQ 2 years ago and it wasn't from the rides because she don't ride. This year she decided to get a coffee and the bottom was full of coffee grounds. Every single time I get something it is not very good and for the price you should at least have quality food. KI will always be my favorite park but Holiday World has them beat all to heck on food and drinks. Thanks guys

Which Giga name will be coming to Kings Island
jensenracing77 replied to Cedar Fair Fanboy's topic in KI Polls
How about Cobra or a snake name... I like Shooting Star also. If it has a Beast themed name it had better be a record setter of some kind. They shouldn't mess with The Beast. Son of Beast was fine and worthy but not sure a steal roller will cut it. -
With a Gold Pass, if you want premium parking, how does that work? Will they subtract the regular parking fee from the premium fee since you get free parking with the Gold Pass. We refuse to pay there prices for food and bring our food. With walking all day we like to park close to get to the car and back easy to eat and rest.

lol, I was telling my kids about that just the other day

Forgot, the cannons at White Water Canyon have doubled in price and NOBODY was using them because of it. Last time we were there two years ago they were .25 and everyone was using them.

We were at Kings Island yesterday from opening to nearly closing. Had a great time over all. The weather was perfect and caused some extra crowds but still nice. Banshee was the first ride of the day and is such a wonderful coaster! We were on the front seat both time and on the purple train both times. I felt it was a little rougher that 2 years ago but still really nice. Later in the day we were on it again in the front and the back on another train and it was for sure smoother than the front of the purple train. Delirium was next and is my all time favorite non roller coaster ride. More on this ride later. Next was The Racer, Only the red Racer was running in the morning. That is getting rougher and rougher every time I ride it. I think that was the last time I will ever get on it. I would ride The Beast 100 time and not hurt as bad as The Racer. I would like to ride the Blue Racer again someday and see how that side is. Diamondback was amazing as always. Mystic Timbers is a really nice ride but the rider turnover is really slow. We were in line for over an hour and the line was not that long. Wanted to ride it again but didn't want to wait that long. I felt as if it was a much better ride than the first year. Not sure if that is in my head or if it has gotten broken in and really rolling better. The old cars were terrible! Line was slow. When we got close to the cars I noticed the front steering was rusted really bad on the cars. Then when we got on them it was really hard to steer. My youngest girl got a car of her own and couldn't steer it at all. She just had to let it hit the center rail back and forth till she got to the end. They are going to have to rework these cars steering. Went to the Gravity show and was a really nice show and really nice to get off our feet for a while. My kids really loved the show. Near the end of the day we were on Delirium again and the line was long. They had 3 people in "supervisor" shirts and 3 other people there. They were all talking and carrying on with each other and the riders appeared to just be in their way of having a good time. They would not start counting and staging people till the rid was almost over and then had to wait even longer in line. This went on the entire time I was there. The ride operator was not at all paying attention. Even when we got off, the girl on exit side had to yell at the operator several times to get him to open the exit gate. did not know that was his control? We only waited about 15 seconds for him to open it but still, the other people we already on the ride. He was talking and goofing off. Still such a wonderful ride. The Viking Fury was not running and was a bummer. That was my girls first bigger ride and is a family tradition to ride. Two years ago it was only running for a couple hours when we were there. I hope they are going to keep it. I was very happy to see the line for The Beast was as long as the line for the Diamondback and longer than Banshee! The Beast will ALWAYS be in my heart as the best roller coaster ever! just makes my day that a 1979 woody is still competing with the modern day Big Boys! I am almost sure we will be getting Gold passes as soon as they are released for 2020.

Had a great time. Yes, I had ridden Mystic Timbers the first year. I felt it was much better this time. Not sure if it is in my head or if it has gotten broken in and is really better. I will do a small trip report in that forum

We don't eat very much at the park. We usually go out to the car and eat out of the cooler and relax for an hour. Sometimes we will get a little something there. We are headed there now. Not been in 2 years

OK, Thanks. Are they usually the same price or close to it each year? I think I was told they were $90 last year starting out? Also, what kind of food and drink discounts come with the Gold Pass? I assume it is still high priced with the discount?
