  1. Yay! I love Fog Hoppers! (and yes, I'm serious. One time at IAAPA, Tom Rebbie...)
  2. Nearly 15 years ago now. I don't think there was a photo. And sadly, Lucy White is no longer with us. Front seat ride, too.
  3. County Fairs... I see both from time to time.
  4. I last rode it with an 81 year old woman! I'm not sure which of us was the child!
  5. It ISN'T stock. Starting a stock thread to talk about WHAT? SIGH. Terp, who HAS a tombstone at Kings Island.
  6. Here's an elementary primer for new investors: http://beginnersinvest.about.com/od/holdingmethods/a/Master-Limited-Partnerships-For-New-Investors.htm
  7. I saw that. That's why I made the comment I did about the FAQ. Read their SEC and tax filings. I do.
  8. Whitewater Center Channels To Close: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article85846642.html
  9. They own units. The units trade on the NYSE. It is NOT stock. See these way oversimplified FAQ's: http://ir.cedarfair.com/investor-resources/faq/default.aspx
  10. Sigh. Cedar Fair is NOT a private company. It's not a company AT ALL. It's a partnership. With a limited entity and a master entity. NO ONE owns ANY stock in Cedar Fair. There is NO SUCH THING. And it really doesn't matter what incorrect thing someone found by Googling.
  11. No. What you buy there are units. Cedar Fair has no stock. It is a partnership--with a limited partnership you can buy units in-and a master partnership whose units are closely held--to say the least. This structure is what kept D. Kinzel from being able to lowball the company to Apollo Global in exchange for riches, much to his chagrin.
  12. No. It is not just words. A company has stock, shareholders who each own a part of it. A limited partnership has units which have a right to share in the income, but the master partnership, NOT the unit holders, owns and controls the company. There are major tax differences, corporate governance differences, and even cultural differences. Cedar Fair LP is not a publicly traded company in which you can buy stock. FUN is not stock. Its owners are owners of units in the limited partnership. They do not by owning units in the limited partnership have any interest in the master partnership that owns the partnership.
  13. No. No shares of Cedar Fair are publicly traded. Period. FUN is units in the LP. NOT shares.
  14. You typically must be accompanied by a child...
  15. No. Cedar Fair is NOT a publicly traded company. Cedar Fair is a limited partnership. If you bought ALL the units, you would not control the master partnership that controls Cedar Fair LP.
  16. I've never understood people who feel they must make a dramatic exit. Honestly.
  17. Plus you have to go to/get to Los Angeles. I can say Stratosphere.
  18. After Camden Park's, prepare to be disappointed. Let's just say they modified it similar to how they did Dodgem.
  19. Again, that water is not the lake that some call the pond...
  20. I learn the darnest things here. Signs. Really? Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom would be most interested in your theories. A sign is a sign.
  21. The pond was a lake. With canoes. Not the same. At all.
