I'd say maXair is an oversized Delirium, given the latter's status as the original Giant Frisbee.

Now all they need are some racing flames!

I think it's an "Oh yeah! This baby rocks!" expression. (...and, I don't know if it's the transformative effect of the G forces, wind, or sheer joy-of-riding, but somebody in this picture looks a little bit like Jimmy Kimmel... just a little bit...)

Fire at Clermont Steel Fabricators
Thrill_Biscuit replied to Gemini XL-200's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Glad no one was injured. Okay, so, a recycling company stores its bags at a steel fabrication plant. I think the investigation should be over soon. (Just kidding. My dad used to operate a steel forge in Miamisburg for 19 years, and I often wondered how (1) he, and (2) all the inherently flammable-looking materials stacked nearby never wound up spontaneously combusting.) -
Not sure if I'm the first to offer this wish, but Happy 'Eve' Eve!

I think it's a blend of 50's and 30's-era styles... a kind of "Art Deco of Tomorrow" look. Reminds me of the former Mason City Hall/Straits of Malacca restaurant. I love how the coaster track in the background (GATEKEEPER?) adds the perfect curve element to the overall picture composition. Awesome!

Then we'll get about another half inch of snow in Mason... and a huge, fiberglass carrot... and a couple of LEDs....

Old Man Winter can go jump in a lake, which I would like to do, if it wasn't still freakin' winter! Jack Frost can nip at one's nose all he wants in December, January and February, but in mid-April, and in southwest Ohio? Now the nipping has moved from the nose to the... hey, look at the web cam now! How beautiful!

Disney can keep its Pepper's Ghosts; I want to see some real, "Help Me Obi Wan!" midair holograms!

LOL! LOL! ...and Prince's "1999" is over 30 years old! Pass the Geritol!

Holographic ones would be nice! (Still waiting on the technology... here in... 2014... come on, Science!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldUhyTrfozw&feature=youtu.be

It's all bittersweet for me; I can't be there for Media Day, Opening Day, or even any day prior to Memorial Day. I think my "45,040th Rider" shirt might actually be too low a number by the time I give Banshee a first whirl, the way things are going. Sheesh.

Shake, Rattle & Roll, because of its visual appeal - its symmetry and colors evoke feelings of fun, and its proximity to The Vortex anchors the feeling of being in a world-class park from many angles.

The Beast. It's good vintage.

You got a lot of "class!"

That is pretty creepy! You're close! Forced perspective is using miniatures and real-life objects in the same shot to create the illusion of exaggerated scale in motion pictures. What you're describing is Linear perspective, which is applying the science how the eye perceives depth in a 2D image which, when done as masterfully as they've done with Eve, allows for the eye-contact-from-any-angle illusion. EDIT: Photo of Geddy Lee withdrawn pending permission for use..

Well, I hope they stop at the legs...

Caution: Prolonged staring at web cam images during long periods of anticipation-filled off-season months might cause certain side-effects... Parody: Original web cam image at www.visitkingsisland.com

I have a low voice. I scream like a fog horn.

After this winter, I don't care if the crowd's like this. Bring it!

Want a thrill? About halfway up the initial launch, start pondering how reliable steel cables really are. ... it adds a priceless kick of breathless consternation to the initial drop-back. Brought to you by Bone Head... when you just can't help but choose the wrong times to think of such things!
