  1. Except that's a main pathway that a lot of guests traverse normally, specifically mingling around the Three-Point Shootout game. They can't necessarily have a fear zone set up on that type of path because then you run into the families who complain about their kids getting scared because they felt as if they were forced to go through to get to an attraction (ie: Backlot). That's the reason why CornStalkers remained in its place at Timberwolf even after they re-opened the path from the Floral Clock to Rivertown; it's a main access path connecting International Street to Rivertown that gets a lot of foot traffic.
  2. Sounds like Timberwolf won't be completely devoid of Haunt attraction with the name Nightmare Alley. Or maybe it will be and they're renaming the Action Zone fear zone as such (it really does feel like an alley most of the time ).
  3. From what I recall, Kings Island received $11 million in capital expenditures, $7 of which went toward Firehawk.
  4. Ah, Home for The Holidays. There's videos of it still up on YouTube. Still, I'm betting this will be a tongue-in-cheek/dark comedy house, which is something they most desperately need to offset the super-serious tones the rest of the event has to offer (CarnEvil notwithstanding). I'm surprised as it is that they didn't pick a theme that screams blood and gore, like an attraction mimicking the SAW or Hostel films. That said, there's still one more maze left to announce, so I'm not set to jinx myself just yet. *crosses fingers for Doll/Toy Factory maze*
  5. Fear Zone is just the term they coin the areas in the park with roaming monsters in the streets. They haven't given a name for the zone yet, let alone the name for the second new house. To cap on what attractions that are a definite at this year's Haunt as per announced by the park themselves: Massacre Manor CarnEvil Urgent Scare Slaughterhouse CornStalkers Holiday Horror New Maze #2 New Fear Zone (location unknown) And here's the list of attractions not yet confirmed by the park to be returning: Club Blood Cemetery Drive Cut-Throat Cove Tombstone Terrortory Wolf Pack Coney Mall Fear Zone (dubbed Coney Maul) Action Zone Fear Zone (dubbed Waste Land) Rivertown Fear Zone (dubbed Ghost Town)
  6. Given the fact that they plan to have more roamers/creepers on the streets means I don't have to worry about them corralled into a single area (i.e.: fear zone). So that said, I'd venture to say that the new Fear Zone is Planet Snoopy, with Holiday Horror potentially going in Peanuts Playhouse. As for Holiday Horror, I will hazard a guess as to say that it will be a mash-up of several holidays, rather than focusing on a singular event. This sounds almost exactly like what Universal is doing with one of their houses, themed to a late-night horror show with cheesy holiday-themed horror movies at the forefront.
  7. Speaking of Haunt: Taken from the park's Facebook. So, anywhere between September 1st and September 11th is when they'll decide to give out the information for Haunt XI V (forgot that KI decided not to count '00 through '06 in the Halloween festivities, but Kings Dominion and Carowinds does).
  8. ^ You never know; they could be rich enough to be walking around DA! with a bag of cotton candy in one hand and a giant banana in the other!
  9. ^ Confusing post there, but kinda makes sense. That is, of course, you meant 2013 would be our big year and not 2012. But it does make sense in that: 2009 - Rivertown remodel & Diamondback 2010 - Nick Universe rethemed to Planet Snoopy and Boo Blasters 2011 - Coney Mall remodel with WindSeeker & Dinosaurs Alive! 2012 I can see a remodel of either Oktoberfest or Boomerang Bay, possibly even both. I would be completely fine with love for the 'Fest to get newer pavers installed and a German theme to make its return, as attempting to install a new ride in that small of an area would be a stretch (to which I would see Tower Gardens possibly getting bulldozed), leaving the Bay to get a new ride, most likely a second wave pool. Maybe even a possible retheme of Adventure Express to something German? Which leaves Action Zone as the last area of the park to get a remodel and said big attraction to grace the park in 2013. Now whether it be a complete redesign of SBNO in the style of the New Texas Giant or a brand new coaster to replace it is beyond me. But I would expect something big for '13, especially if we're following the same footsteps as Wonderland (Behemoth then Diamondback, Leviathan then -?-)...
  10. ......weren't we supposed to get a replacement this month? I believe that's what the park said a few days after DA! opened, that a replacement Yellow River was supposed to come in August.
  11. Maybe Millie will get rethemed as TERRORsaur, the ultimate meat-eater, swooping over Prehistoric/Adventure Island and gobbling up any and all dinosaur that gets in it way. EDIT: And before anyone asks, it's a play the name Pterosaur.
  12. The best way to not get the coaster fanboys riled up because of the absence of a new thrill ride? Announce your attraction in the middle of the night.
  13. Then perhaps we could see a literal Freak Show at the Haunt alongside the Half-Pint Brawlers.
  14. ^ Mysteria sounds like one wicked flat ride, I will definitely give you that.
  15. I disagree. I completely believe that we are next in line for a new major coaster. We need one just as bad as CW did. Either that or SoB refurbishment. I mean, CF is doing better financially now. They can afford it. Just think about it. I305 and Initimidator were added the same year. Next year, we get a new one and so does CP. ...where have you heard that Cedar Point is getting a coaster for next year? Also, why can't you wait just one more year when it's somewhat more likely our park gets a new coaster in 2013? In other news, anyone else find it sad that Levi's brake run is essentially taller than the entirety of Dragon Fire? EDIT: Oh, and Mr. Geek, you were off by only one million dollars on d-Back's price tag.
  16. Yeah, it could mean just about anything. New maze, new fear zone, new show...possibilities are endless.
  17. In this particular style (Mega/Giga Coaster), the vast majority of them are out-and-back coasters. There are a TON more styles of Beemer (Dive Machine, Inverted, Floorless, etc.) that do loop-de-loops, but these ones don't have any inversions.
  18. Length - 5,486 feet Height - 306 feet Max. Speed - 92 mph
  19. Also, something irks me. Given the rumored name of Leviathan and the color of the track/supports, one expects this to have an aquatic theme to it, similar in nature to Seaworld's Kraken and Manta: Could this mean some water elements could be thrown in with Wonderland's coaster? Maybe even a...SPLASHDOWN finale? God forbid if there was a choice between D-Back and Levi over who would be more deserving of one, it would make a LOT more sense, thematically, that Levi gets it...
  20. Hokay, so we (the Wonderland) have: Behemoth - B&M Mega Coaster @ 230 feet tall. Leviathan - B&M [insert coaster type here] Coaster @ [insert height here] feet tall. This means that their next coaster, whenever that will be, should be Ziz, a B&M flying roller coaster @ however many feet tall it is. EDIT: IF it ends up being everything we ever hoped for my gluteus maximus. Sorry if it won't go 300 feet in the air, it's a Beemer, it's a coaster, and it will be awesome regardless.
  21. ^ Find it interesting the trains are of the old 4-across variety and not the newer staggered seating the likes of Behemoth, Diamondback, and Timmy: Carowinds Edition. Also, the supports found at the park don't match up with what's seen in this picture. Of course, renderings and the final product are two totally different things...
  22. Over two whole months and not a peep from the house that Q built. Anyone else intrigued/scared by this, or is it just me?
  23. The only reason why Knott's opened late is because SOMEONE up in the office decided they didn't want the Sky Cabin to go bye-bye and moved the Windy Seeker to its current location at the last second. Like, February last second. Also, they didn't have the luxury of working in the off-season and needed to work around daily crowds.
  24. If I'm not mistaken, most haunts themed to asylums are ones whose story lines take place in the past; in essence, their timelines are set in the 50s or 60s, where treatments for patients were far less safe and positive. There were some pretty horrific things done to patients back then for the smallest of illnesses (something like schizophrenia or dementia was billed as a communicable disease and said people needed to be quarantined). Even movies featuring asylums almost never have one set in this day and age; it's usually a twist on the basic ghost story, except the ghosts are roaming the halls of an abandoned mental institution rather than a Victorian manor.
  25. I forgot to add the 'Taken from Screamscape' line at the top. Fix'd now.
