  1. Their use of the term "this fall" is very vague. It could either be an August announcement, or they would wait until Labor Day Weekend to reveal their Halloween plans. I would love to see another kid-friendly maze installed for Howl-O-Fest alongside the one they already have in the Picnic Grove. As for the big boys' event....I would really rather they upgrade and overhaul the mazes they already have rather than install a brand new one in another location. And using DA! as the new trail is pushing it, seeing as how it would essentially be an extension of the original Trail of Terror. If anything, I'd rather see the props from ToT go over to White Water Canyon to replace Tombstone Terrortory, and the Western attire and props be dispersed throughout Rivertown as a conversion to Ghost Town.
  2. Yes, indeed. That Haunt attraction (CarnEVIL) resides in the old Enchanted Theater that's inside the same building as Boo Blasters (there is a lot more inside that building than just a dark ride). It was last used in 2003, I believe, as a Scooby-Doo show, before going the way of the dodo. Although now I wish they took out the stage so they could give that maze some more square footage. EDIT: Also, which park PDF did you get that from? o_0 I've been searching all over for one that kinda resembles a schematic so as I can finally get back to doing a KI recreation on Blender.
  3. Basically, if you've ever watched any music video ever made within the past six years, then you should be fine dealing with the "mature" material the Haunt has. Seriously, there are girls who come to the park on any given day that dress far worse than what what the actresses in Club Blood wear. If anything, the so-called "sex appeal" that Club Blood so happily forced down everyone's throats its debut year has all but become dust in the wind now that attractions such as Slaughterhouse and the Half-Pint Brawlers have set up shop. But yes, Club Blood is really the only one that some people would find questionable when it comes to age-appropriate material. Now as to why they would find it questionable is beyond me....
  4. That's what I'm hoping for this year with all the attention that's been paid to detail around the park. Although with his background being the president of a theme park that doesn't have a Halloween event as mature or graphic as the Halloween Haunt franchise, there may be a chance they could get toned down a bit to the level that Cedar Point's Halloweekends is (at least KI's needs to).
  5. ....who are these people and what have they done with the management that used to be at Kings Island? This is FANTASTIC. One can only hope that this much attention to upkeep and detail will carry over to this year's Haunt!
  6. Kind of like the many arms & seats branching from the main ride carriage?
  7. A new attraction for this year's Haunt? Possibly. Another new flat ride for next season? Also possibly. A brand new coaster replacing Sonny for next season with no signs of visible construction as of this particular moment and therefore expecting Sonny to be torn down and a $20+ million dollar coaster to be erected within the span of 10 months? WE HAVE A WINNER! ....although given how quickly Firehawk went up in the 06-07 off-season, it's not necessarily too far-fetched to assume a small coaster could be built in a relatively short time frame, like say, a compact woodie or even one of them Timmy Mega-Lites.
  8. Didn't get to experience the original Graveyard Shift when it debuted, so it shall be very worthwhile to see it at this year's Haunt. The one thing that irks me is this - they acknowledge the 10th anniversary of a single show for this year's Haunt, yet they wouldn't do the same for the Haunt ITSELF last year, as it, too, was the 10th anniversary?
  9. Probably less of a motion-activated trigger and more that it may just be on a timer.
  10. Bothered? No Surprised? Hell no Why? Dick Kinzel ....you guys do realize the Wonderland Windy Seeker was the first to open BEFORE Cedar Point's, right? Oh wait, I forgot. Cedar Point is the only Cedar Fair park that matters to people.
  11. ^ Actually, signs of DB construction popped up at the end of '07, as land clearing began right behind the Showplace Stage (most of the trees were gone and Swan Lake started to be drained out by mid-November). In other speculative news, I wonder what the new Haunt attraction will be for this year....
  12. Rivertown Mining Company was still standing until the last day of the 2008 season with a Haunt attraction in it (Red Beard's Revenge, now Cut-Throat Cove behind Outer Hank's) when Diamondback construction was in full swing. If anything, they could've bulldozed the building a week after the announcement was made, but chose not to for whatever reason. If they were to start doing an overhaul on Sonny at the end of the summer, chances are they'd probably start in a location that can't be readily seen by normal park guests, or a location that has probably been the source for all of the ride's problems and headaches (*cough*Rose Bowl*cough*). That said, it's not too terribly complex to relocate a haunted house, particularly one with a small, square footprint that Wolf Pack has. As mentioned before, Cut-Throat Cove has underwent several transfers (it used to be where Diamondback's station is now when it debuted in 2004 as Sleepy Hollow Horror), cornSTALKERS used to be next to the former Swan Lake, and CarnEVIL even used to call the Festhaus home. EDIT: Lance has done it again: New ride for KI's 40th anniversary? Most likely. New COASTER for KI's 40th anniversary? Perhaps...
  13. From the offices of Screamscape: .....we need to get the Dippin' Dots guy under control here. EDIT: Also note the 'rumor only' tag in front of SOB Returns.
  14. If that's the case, he might want to think about removing Mean Streak and Gemini from his home park to make way for two more Timmys, preferably before he leaves the company next year.
  15. On the Black Eyed Peas song, the title is actually "The Time (Dirty Bit)". But, other than that, interesting to see hear new songs added to the fireworks, even though there are much better songs to use as a finale than Miley Cyrus or BEP.
  16. Let's also hope that Knott's doesn't go through the same pitfalls the other three underwent as it's still being erected. It would suck to not see that open until well into the Fall when Haunt commences.
  17. Gotta love the line out the queue in that video. People must really want to ride that. Wonder how long the line for Behemoth was at that particular moment...
  18. Yet ground work started at the end of the '07 season, particularly the last weekend of Haunt. If another Beemer or any coaster was being planned for 2012, we'd have seen ground work somewhere at the end of last season's Haunt. Also, that is a VERY nice fanboy rendering of a coaster. It really blends in with the rest of the surroundings in the picture as if it were a professional render.
  19. ^ Except with Drop Tower, they clearly state that the actual drop is only 264 feet.
  20. I don't think this question was answered, let alone asked, but are the DA! tickets good for the entire day or just a one-time instance, as in one has to pay again if they want to go through it again? Also, they might as well do a dino-themed Haunt seeing as how it barrels through and uses portions of the original Trail of Terror. Although the problem of properly staffing said attraction would be unheard of, reaching numbers of well over 100+ people, along with the fact that you're essentially talking about a lengthy attraction at almost an hour. But then again, the premise of having the world's longest haunted trail would make for good publicity, provided the attraction itself is actually GOOD and not simply what Tombstone Terrortory is stretched several more thousand feet.
  21. He's referring to the one at Universal Studios Hollywood: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic_Park:_The_Ride_%28Universal_Studios_Hollywood%29 The IOA attraction (and the ones that followed) is merely a clone of the original.
  22. Ah, so the bathroom IS open. I thought they were waiting til the 26th open it up. Mah bad.
  23. And hopefully that shiny new bathroom in between the shiny new dinosaur park and the shiny new thrill ride is ready for visitors as well!
  24. Ah, I see. Then allow me to offer this simple retort:
