  1. Tell that to Kings Dominion who just bulldozed a line of trees for a go-kart track called Thunder Raceway next door to Turbo Coaster (I'm guesing it's next door to TC).

    Dude, you are SERIOUSLY white.
  3. Which was one of the reasons why I didn't like Cedar Fair. I'm afraid that, with Cedar Point remaining the flagship park, and the monopoly in Ohio, someone in upper management's gonna decide that HalloWeekends is a more popular event than FearFest and end up pulling the plug on the PKI event.
  4. ....since when did Face/Off have an on-ride photo?
  5. It almost doesn't make any sense that Paramount spent all that money and publicity hyping up the return of WinterFest one year, only to have it stripped away by a different company the next....this is, of course, pending Cedar Fair decides to axe the event altogether. I can only hope that once Cedar Fair grabs ahold of the reigns, they'll be able to add their unique Halloween touch seen at the Haunt in Knott's for this year's FearFest.
  6. Anyone else notice the completely re-done soundtrack in conjunction with the fireworks? It makes the experience much more enjoyable with an updated musical score.
  7. I'm up for it. Anyone else ('cept for AZ) ready to get some paint and old costumes?
  8. Yeah, right when the page loads up, the music bar is to the left of the video, and there's one big button that you press to pause it. But if that doesn't work, here's the link to the video off YouTube: EDIT: Also found the video to the finale of Great America's School of Rock show (although not as good a band as ours and PKD's): www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz6CBHDkDPo
  9. O.K, but wasn't Italian Job: Stunt Track at least 15 million? It had to have been pricey, what with all the bells, whistles, and special effects it has.
  10. YouTube has at least two videos of the show, except it's from the Kings Dominon version, and the videos only show two of the songs from the show (Back in Black & Rock and Roll). But I'm not sure if they still have them available. You can also check my MySpace page; I have the video of the finale to the School of Rock show on the page: www.myspace.com/grim_mcklownski Again, this is from the Kings Dominon version. I'm not sure where you can find the Kings Island version.
  11. In fact, many people have driven those three hours up to Kings Island to ride our coasters--and they the PKI coasters are better than their KK rides!
  12. Well, now they're more or less losing sleep over whether they want to ride the newly refurbished Son of Beast, or take a crack at the two new woodies that have been built this year, Beech Bend's Kentucky Rumbler and Holiday World's The Voyage.
  13. Now I have to ride IJ:ST again since all the effects are working. One question though, did the onboard audio work, or are they still making attempts to fix it?
  14. All I'm saying is that I'd rather be traveling through ancient Egyptian ruins or a dense jungle region/huge forested area than around a bunch of steel coaster supports/wide open area. But it's not that I don't like Cedar Fair, I think that they were a very good choice for running the Paramount Parks. It's just that the routes that Cedar Point and Kings Island have taken are two very different routes. One adds record-breaking roller coasters with little to no theming but make up in intense thrills. The other attempts to add a nice movie theme to their attractions, and the families love it. I'm just getting a bit tired of the whole "Forget the family ride crap, we'd rather plop a B&M flyer or hyper in the middle of the park" posts. Yeah, I'm an avid coaster fan who would love to have a B&M finally soar above Kings Island's treeline. But I would like to see a little thought put into the scenery/theming design to REALLY wow the guests that ride the coaster. Which is why I brought up the differences between Busch Garden's Montu and Cedar Point's Raptor. They're (nearly) the exact same ride, yet I'd rather travel all the way down to Florida just to check out the amazing theming of an Egyptian excavation site with a coaster that dips, dives, and dodges out of the scenery, rather than just weave in and out of a set of coaster supports. There, that's my two cents, and I forgot to congratulate Cedar Fair for buying up Paramount Parks. It's about time a REAL theme park company got their hands on some gold.
  15. Because everyone seems to want that new B & M coaster instead of a highly-themed roller coaster for the whole family. ...Actually, in terms of B & Ms, I'd rather go the route of Kumba or Montu at Busch Gardens than Mantis or Raptor at Cedar Point.
  16. So what about CoasterCon '07? Is that still going to be held at Kings Island, or are they going to cancel it because of the sale?
  17. Buying five nice family-oriented parks----$1.2 billion Having Mountain Dew available for all Paramount Parks----priceless. Sorry, couldn't find anything else beside the two that could resemble a MasterCard commercial.
  18. Aw, dude, if they get rid of Chris Maupin, Kevin Eldridge, and Matt Deaton, I'll be ****ed. The enthusiasm of those three kept me in a good mood on even the worst days of working in the park (and by worst, I mean crowds in the 25-30s at times).
  19. Now what about the indoor waterpark that's being built alongside Great Wolf Lodge? Will you need to be staying at the resort to get acess, or will it be similar to the Bay and be included with park admission? Or will it just be non-existant considering CBS still has stock in the hotel?
  20. Well, Dick Kinzel also mentioned that Cedar Point and Kings Island are two very different parks. One is geared toward massive thrill rides, the other a more family-oriented experience. So it seems as if KI will be the flagship park in terms of family entertainment, whereas CP will be the flagship park for white-knuckle thrill rides. But that doesn't mean KI won't get some neat thrill rides. It's just that I believe Kinzel and the Cedar Fair team will restore Kings Island to its former famous glory, as well as repair the themed attractions already at the park (IJ:ST, TR:TR) and add a few new attractions everyone can enjoy (I'm thinking a bit more money will be used than what was for Italian Job).
  21. So how's The Beast treatin ya then? Is it good? PKIBeast was right; people are so spoiled over all the B&Ms and Intamin steel coasters being made, yet one wooden coaster is built and people flip out about it being rough. I thought these were the same people that wanted a coaster that went over 200 feet? I'd rather take a good woodie like SOB (or the Thunderhead, Legend, Voyage, Raven, Shivering Timbers, and Zeus) than a B&M like Raptor or Mantis. Come to think of it, I'd rather have a coaster under 200 feet running through the woods or in a very well-themed environment, than a 200-400 hyper steel coaster in a dry patch of land in the middle of nowhere (harsh, I know, but I just had to make an attempt to prove a point). (....which, of course, no point was made. )
  22. Yeah, that was pretty much it. So much for a quick sketch of what it would look like.
  23. Originally, I had an idea that Paramount could use their mountain logo as part of a theme for a Giant Ferris Wheel. Like, the cars would be in the shape of stars, and it would have a facade of a giant monutain on both sides of the wheel. But, once again, my ideas suck, and if I had the chance, I'd draw a layout of what I mean on paper and scan it and post it on here. But then again, my ideas suck.
  24. Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, Cedar Fair Cedar Point just didn't flow well with park guests, so they just decided to name it Cedar Point. And I don't think Cedar Kings Island works either.
  25. Tell 'em I'm not here and to leave a message after the beep. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
