  1. ....or at least install the stair system in the subway scene. You know, the scene where the cars hop down the stairs, and you can "feel every bump?" The thing was supposed to be put in mid-July, but, knowing Paramount, they forgot. ....or at least fix the helicopter to where it can move up and down again; at the end of the season, all it could do was just move back and forth like a robot.
  2. This might surprise a few, even though it is from Screamscape.com: Paramount Parks - (2/28/06) An interesting news report came out today pointing out that even as CBS Corp. reported a Q4 loss of $9.14 billion the Paramount Parks and publishing divisions that are up for sale reported a 15% increase in revenue, with a 32% improvement from Paramount Parks and 12% from publishing. Yeah, I'm gonna be ****ed if NU doesn't turn out to be the Seuss Landing look-a-like that they were overhyping about. And they already lied about the number of new attractions coming out with NU (six in the press release, dropped down to three new attractions, the rest are re-themes). However, the attractions that PKI DOES put out are unique and one-of-a-kind: -Italian Job: Stunt Track (the cars) -Tasmanian Typhoon (first of its kind) -Coolangatta Racer (only one of its kind, I think) -Tomb Raider: The Ride (only one of its kind) -Delirium (nation's first Giant Frisbee) -Avatar: The Last Airbender (world's only Skater with a hump) ....they just suck at keeping the rides working three-quarters of the time.
  3. ...so much for taking a year of Spanish.
  4. You know, one thing they could do to add to the parade (although, IMO, it would be very hard to pull off) would be to add the live band from the School of Rock show to the Celebration Parade. Maybe they would play out the theme song (anyone know the name of the Celebration Parade theme song?) live, along with a few other songs, so they wouldn't be playing the entire parade long. ...but that's just my opinion.
  5. Yeah, the kiddie train ride is La Adventura de Azul (The Adventure of Azul for you non-Spanish speakin' folk). As for Go Diego Go, I think that will be the old Huck's Hot Rods ride, which used to be beside Jetson's Jet Orbiters.
  6. Yeah, I had also heard that, early on, River Adventure and Runaway Reptar would be getting some new scenery items. RA is in desperate need of some big scenery; it gets pretty boring along the ride between the spraying monkeys and giant anaconda.
  7. I know it would be a hard thing to do, but I would personally like to see the return of those family game shows they used to do a few years back in the Nick Theater. I know for a fact that Carowinds is now going back to doing Slime Time Live when they opened up Nick Central last season. I think it's a waste of space for a theater that large and the only thing it's used for is the meet & greets, which don't even use up the whole theater.
  8. ....just to let you guys know, to get an idea of what the new attractions (Avatar, Phantom Flyers, Plankton's Plunge) function/look like, you can go to Zamperla's official site at: www.zamperla.it They have pictures and videos of all of their attractions, including these three NU rides (NOTE: all of these rides can be found within the Products hub of the site): Avatar(Check for these two rides): Disko Coaster (under Best Sellers) Skater (under Thrill Rides) Phantom Flyers: Kite Flyer (under Family Rides) Plankton's Plunge: Jumping Star (under Kiddie Rides)
  9. ...what about us Ecology folk? No loving for the peeps that help keep those pesky bathrooms, trash cans, and pathways clean (don't even get me started on those restrooms)?
  10. Orange and blue colors stand for Swiper's colors off of Dora (the fox). The Alley Cat is getting re-themed and re-named to Swiper's Sweepers, which is in the new Dora neighborhood. EDIT: God, I can't believe I know who Swiper is, and I've never even seen the show.
  11. ...had no idea where to put this, and I was too lazy to make a new topic about it. Apparently some guy on the PKD forums got a confirmation from the park officials that Kings Dominion's Flight of Fear is R.I.P., and is supposedly being moved over to PCW next year. The post: RIP FOF. I had it confirmed today by top park officials that the FOF has been taken down. Dont know if its in the building still or not but it will be going to PCW for a new ride in 2007. It will be an outside ride. The FOF building was not made clear of its future. It could be used for a ride in the future or just torn down. Belive me if you like but [some random kid] was right. ....this coming from a guy with only 10 posts and had just joined four days ago. So I wouldn't believe it until Screamscape makes it official and gets everyone into a big-assed flame war.
  12. That Fender Bender 500 whatchamacallit is re-named as the Nick Jr. Drivers. At least that's what it said on the map. Oh, and BTW, that yellow thing over near the Sky Tours: ...that's the Blue jumping ride, entitled Blue's Skidoo. So, here's a low-down on the re-themed rides: Backyardigans Swing-A-Long=kiddie Swing Set next to bumper cars Blue's Skidoo=I believe its the Baggage Claim ride underneath the Sky tours Fairly Odd Coaster=Well, you guys already know what THIS ride is.... Go Diego Go=that Hot Rods Ride moved over to the new Dora neighborhood Jimmy Neutron's Atom Smasher=kiddie bumper cars La Adventura de Azul=originally Quick Draw's Railway Lazytown Sporticopters=Sky Tours with a new theme to it Little Bill's Giggle Coaster=Taxi Jam coaster Nick Jr. Drivers=already said what this was Nick-O-Round=kiddie Carousel SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom Bash=Water Maze with (hopefully) some new additions Swiper's Sweepers=the Alley Cat ride moved over to the Dora neighborhood, too. Timmy's Airtours=the orange and white airplane in front of Reptar
  13. Well, for those of you who like concept art (all seven of us ), here's the rough design of the final product for Survivor: The Ride. This actually looks pretty cool now that I've seen an idea of it's theme. Now all Paramount has to do is deliver with an impressive attention to detail (ex: Tomb Raider at KI). I'm also looking forward to how they theme and detail our Avatar coaster (along with the rest of NU). I'm hoping for a neat abstract detail with a cross of Toon Lagoon and Suess Landing at IOA. And yeah, I'm still ****ed that I don't get a chance to see the Crash Course Boating School idea come to life, but the chance for me to ride a Disko/Skater and a Kite Flyer for the very first time makes me happy. ....along with an excuse to be over in Kiddy Land longer than 20 minutes, and I'm scheduled off from work (aside from SDATHC).
  14. Yeah, remember that when Paramount first bought the parks back in '92, KECO already had plans up for Top Gun, only it had a different theme (Thunder Road, I believe) to it.
  15. As joked about in an earlier topic... Grown Men (and Women) + Construction Tour of a Re-designed Kiddie Land = Fun for the Whole Family. Seriously, though, this is the first construction tour I have ever been on, let alone the first time I have ever hung around with the PKIC "crew" for kicks. Tomorrow should be a VERY interesting tour.
  16. It ****es me off so much that they have neglected that attraction and not fix ANY of the broken lights on the Burma mural on the ride. You would think they would have fixed them by now if there had been so many guest complaints, but they don't. The ride looks SO much better when it first opened, now it looks like crap (styrafoam peeling off, trash littered EVERYWHERE in the queue line, gum on the walls, three-quarters of the lights are broken).
  17. Especially now that they built Curse of DarKastle at Williamsburg and SheikRA at Tampa Bay. With as many parks as they have to deal with, it's utterly AMAZING what kind of stuff they can come up with (two Busch Gardens parks, and I don't know how many Sea World parks).
  18. .....or they would ask where the Son of Beast is....and we're over by The Vortex. Or, better yet, they'd ask where Italian Job is, and we're in front of the Eiffel Tower.
  19. ....so what you're saying is Paramount's going the cheap route once again?
  20. ....so what about this other SpongeBob attraction in the water maze location? I've been asking and wondering the past month and I still have no answer from anyone.
  21. .....Okay, now I'm mad. I don't get to get my Crash Course Boating School now! SIDE NOTE: I'm gonna be REALLY mad if Great America gets it if the new owners decide to go along with the Nick re-theme for the other parks. ....but I'm still mad, though.
  22. ...no, remember, we decided the Son of Beast should be re-named to the Fairly ROUGH Coaster.
  23. I wish our Top Gun was a clone of Iron Dragon at CP or Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Then again, I wish we had a Raptor here at PKI (another monster loose in the woods of some sort).
  24. .....this kinda reminds me of when Cedar Point was building Millenium Force, and how little of a space they had for the lift hill and first drop. Which is why MF's drop angle is so STEEP (70 or 80 degree drop, IDK) and also why it's the first coaster to use a lift system similar to those in an elevator. Oh, yeah, and why that overbank turn after the first drop is so.....banky.
  25. Which brings up the question, would it have been better if they released a new attraction every 2-3 years? At least this way, the could spend more time perfecting a particular attraction and make it look really good, too.
