New Nick Universe Info Released!
RingMaster replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Ok, first off, I'm not white. I'm African-American, too. The "black" joke was from an episode of Family Guy (where Stewie and Peter go down to Disney World), and all I did was use some quotes from that episode. In now way, shape, or form was I trying to insult someone or act racist. And second, the "punk***got" word was from a comedy sketch done by Richard Jeni from an HBO special. Hence the sign by the post. Again, no attempts to insult anyone or act racist were made, it was just a joke. So I am sorry if it looked like I upset the members from this site. I hope this apology can be accepted. -
.....Ok, so this hasn't been the first time there's been a miscalculation. (reminisces of that one time on Family Guy during a Back to the Future spoof where Marty's daughter marries a black man....and Doc is considered racist. )

....Wanna know something weird? The guys at PKI.com took out the original press release for NU on the site. Here's the link: http://www.pki.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=251 Either they took it out......or my computer's a punk***got playing tricks on me.

New Nick Universe Info Released!
RingMaster replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Hmm..... Wouldn't it make more sense to have the Jumping Star 16 instead of the regular? It would help with capacity issues (but, then again, nearly every HB attraction had low-capacity ) a lot: Then again......it'd probably cost more. Also, what about the Blue jumping ride? Is that also part of the Zamperla ride package? If so (and most likely is) then it would probably be one of those Jump Around thingys: ....but take out the monster trucks (and the sinfully ugly hub thing) and replace it with Blue-mobiles jumping around Blue's House. Again, just a thought. -
The Italian Job Turbo Coaster
RingMaster replied to Skippy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I got some lame ride names for the Italian Job coaster for PKD (though they all suck, bear with me): -The Italian Job Stunt Track: RUSH HOUR <--stupid -The Italian Job Stunt Track: Collision Course <--stupider -The Italian Job: Most Wanted <--stupid rip-off of Need for Speed -The Italian Job: Speed Track <--stupidest Let the much needed hate mail and criticism commence! -
^ 'Sides, even when it is re-named to the Fairly Odd Coaster, you can still call it The Beastie if you really want to. To also prove a point (or completely throw a new random topic your way), the mechanical term for SDATHC is Darkride, considering it's (obviously) a dark ride, and has been a dark ride since the park's inception in '72.

I LOVED the Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera when it was at Universal. That is, until they got rid of it and replaced it with the craptacular Jimmy Neutron Nicktoon Blast. ......but what about the Plankton free-fall ride? ......and the Danny Phantom flying ride-thingy? ......and what about my CRASH COURSE BOATING SCHOOL?! ....oh well. I just hope that the SpongeBob attraction replacing the water maze/Nick Theater will be good nontheless, even if it isn't the Crash Course Boating School. EDIT: PM the RingMaster for quick fix on his ideas for: -The Addams Family Reunion Coaster -Mission: Impossible Intensity Rush -Paycheck Stunt Experience (MI:SS rip-off for Kings Island )
-
^Isn't that from the song "Comfort Eagle" by Cake? ....BTW, I'm still workin out some loose ends on the Reunion Coaster ideas, but I'll have it up soon, Scooby. Don't you worry about it!
-
.....I forgot about Cat in the Hat. Now that you mention it, I can definitely see a ride like Cat in the Hat being placed in NU as Crash Course. D'oh! ...But I can only hope that Kings Island is smart enough to install it here THIS year and not at Great America. EDIT: I also gots me ideas for Addams Family Reunion Coaster and a Mission: Impossible coaster.

Just because a ride LOOKS like it should be part of a local fair doesn't mean that it can't be a good ride for NU. Adding a few "new-school" flat rides is what tons of people have been asking for in a Coney Mall expansion-type thingy. So if Avatar is indeed a ride type like these Mack Rides, then we can expect two flat ride experiences for the whole family (Avatar and Phantom Flyers). As for Crash Course Boating School........ .....Imagine a shorter, smaller Adventure Express that's 3/4 outdoors and 1/4 indoors. Now, remove the jungle/Indiana Jones-rip-off theme and put in Bikini Bottom as the backdrop. Replace the "runaway" trains with six-man "Boatmobiles" capable of spinning and fishtailing (a'la IJ:ST), either free-form or computer-controlled. Finally, add some onboard audio, cool animatronic SpongeBob SquarePants characters, nice lighting effects and scenery (but no cardboard cut-outs please), and you have Crash Course Boating School. ...But don't forget to have at least 18-20 Boatmobiles in two stations to handle the large crowds and not be considered a "low-capacity" ride. That would be my interpretation of the ride. And just because Mack's pics look similar to SDATHC doesn't mean it'll look EXACTLY like the Haunted Castle if/when it's built. You just gotta look at things a bit differently than what's displayed.

I'm a 16-17 year old thrill seeker, but I'm more hyped up over NU than I was with IJ:ST. go me. Now, on Avatar....... I did some research on the whole "it being a Disko" rumor and, frankly, I can't very well see this as the anchor ride for NU, let alone A ride for Universe to begin with. Seems too intense to be paired with a series of smaller attractions. So then I heard about the rumor that Mack Rides had signed a deal with Paramount and checked out their site for some more info on it.....I didnt get any info on the deal...... ...but I DID manage to find some rides that look A LOT similar to what this Avatar "coaster" could possibly be (along with a possible ride or two for the Blue Jump-A-Long): Avatar Concept #1 Avatar Concept #2/Blue Jump-Around Concept #1 Blue Jump-Around Concept #2 And here's something for fans of the Crash Course Boating School idea: Crash Course as a stand-alone dark ride with spinny car thingys.... OR Crash Course as a powered coaster with spinny car thingys IN a dark ride environment? The Choice is yours.......

Here are some of the thoughts of the RingMaster: Season 2007: -New Mission: Impossible coaster or stunt show to commemorate Mission: Impossible 3 movie OR -The Addams Family Reunion Coaster Season 2008: -2 new flat rides for Coney Mall as part of a Coney Mall Expansion OR -1 new flat ride for Coney Mall and Boomerang Bay Expansion OR -Boomerang Bay Expansion Season 2009: -2 new flat rides for Action Zone as part of a Action Zone Expansion Season 2010: -Unfortunately, I see Kings Island (and possibly the other Paramount Parks) being sold off to some other buyer.

What are the chances PKI will get a SpongBob ride.
RingMaster replied to ragerunner's topic in Coming Attractions
If I'm not mistaken, they began putting foundations in for IJ:ST in early November when it got real cold real quick, and had finished foundations by the end of November. I was about to say Tomb Raider would be a good example of major indoor/outdoor work in under a year...until I found out that they had started ground clearing and markering in mid-July of 2001. But couldn't that count as an example? And it's not like they would have to stop building automatically once the park opened at the end of April. IJ:ST didn't officially open until the end of May and did test runs during the last three weeks in May. 'Sides, they have five months. A LOT can happen in five months (ex: IJ:ST). The RingMaster gives his regards... -
lostgirl's right; Massacre Manor was a blast this year. The darkened stat of the maze really helped the actors get truly great scares (it's awesome that you can hear seven groups of girls screaming their lungs out from the other side of a wall). Also, lostgirl, try having another job during the first half of the day, and then having to clock in for FearFest an hour after your morning shift ends. I, for one, went through every attraction several times and came every day except for the last Sunday before coming up with an opinion, and, frankly, there more problems that came up than there were old ones that were addressed. But it's not the actors' faults; they were fired up every night and did the best that they could do. I commend each and every scareactor that worked FearFest this year and managd to get the fans to crap themselves. I think it's whoever's behind management is what's causing the main problems. Specifically they never addressed the issue of PsychoPath's Line Control, having little to no creeper talent in the Curse of Sleepy Hollow zone (Rivertown) or not hiring enough scareactors to fill up each and every maze. (Hey, Massacre Manor had a line that reached to Chick-fil-A every night, and it did NOT disapoint me at all)

^ Doesn't it sound like this SpongeBob underwater world has more attractions in it than it suggests? If Crash Course Boating School isn't built, that doesn't mean the area won't stay as a play area. Like the Mermaid Kingdom in Tokyo Disney Sea, the SpongeBob area could have two or three small attractions for little kids or the whole family. OR, Crash Course could be an indoor-outdoor coaster that is short but sweet (think smaller than Adventure Express, yet more themed and more action-packed) that would lie to the west of the Nick Theater. Then the Water Maze/Nick Theater area could play host to that Plankton free-fall ride, one or two little kid attractions, an actual Krusty Krab restaurant, shopping, and play area, all indoor and outdoor. That's my take on SpongeBob's "neighborhood." Meanwhile, Ghoster Coaster and the baby rides behind it will play host to the Avatar spinning coaster thing, which, hopefully, will be highly themed as well. Finally, all the other baby rides will be re-themed (Jimmy Neutron Bumper Cars, Hey Arnold Taxi Chase, Nick Carousel, Lazytown Sporticopters, Backyardigans Swing-A-Long). All that's left to figure out is that Danny Phantom flying ride. Any ideas on what it will be, or if it's actually going to be built next year?

Anyone else see the Headless Hollow decorations still up in White Water Canyon's exit? That was a pretty interesting site. Also, can someone tell me what was up with the sign in front of Massacre Manor? "Please pardon our dust as we prepare for something in the near future" is what it said. One last thing, if anyone saw a black kid hanging around with a couple of ECO guys, don't worry, that wasn't me.

^ This explains why Universal hasn't already clamored to get a WOTW ride up and running come next year or 2007. But if Universal would have the chance to build one, do you think that they would rather re-theme Florida's Earthquake ride to War? It just sounds easier to me to do that. Hey, Top Gun is the world's only aircraft-themed suspended coaster, so Avatar could be the world's only Nickelodeon-themed Zamperla Disko ride! I wonder if Paramount is thinking of adding attractions based off of other movies. Even though a majority of their movies suck, they could still have rides based off of them that are better than the movies (perfect example=Waterworld Stunt Show at USH attracted almost 4 times as many crowds than the movie equivalent, which "drowned" at the box office in '94). Here's some ride ideas I concocted from recent Paramount flicks: Sahara Express or Expedtition: SAHARA -Possible Expedition: EVEREST rip-off or Adventure Express re-theme The Core: Meltdown -Possible Vertical Drop Coaster Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow: The Ride -Possible Action FX Theater movie Paycheck: Rush Hour -Possible Action FX Theater movie Mission: Impossible-The Experience -Possible High-Speed Steel Coaster

^ Actually, Universal has rights to the War of the Worlds franchise, although Paramount was the one who actually made the movie (stupid Paramount for selling WOTW rights to Universal ). With this Disko ride rumored for PGA next year as a Survivor-themed ride, it sounds as if both PGA and PKI will be "taking guests on a whirlwind ride" with the Avatar coaster as a new Zamperla Disko. Not unless Paramount is still thinking of using the idea of an indoor/outdoor spinning coaster like Disney Studios Paris's Finding Nemo coaster (Codename: Crash's Turtle Twist). This Mack powered coaster idea sounds perfect for Crash Course Boating School (if it ever gets made) as guests would probably speed up and slow down through several highly-themed scenes in Bikini Bottom. It just feels like a SpongeBob attraction will be the main draw of NU instead of Avatar; they just haven't announced it yet. (Anyone else think that Avatar isn't that good of a show? Or is it just me?) BTW, what happened to the Plankton free-fall ride and Danny Phantom flying-type ride? Aren't those supposed to be all-new rides being built for next year with Nick Universe?

What are the chances PKI will get a SpongBob ride.
RingMaster replied to ragerunner's topic in Coming Attractions
Anyone know if the Nick Theater will remain up for next year or if it will be taken down in place of a new ride? 'Cause it's sitting on a prime piece of land if Crash Course is built. Oh, yeah, one more thing... 200th POST!!! -
I believe that cornSTALKERS and that little Gauntlet area by the Sling Shot were the best out of FearFest this year. Close-quarters scare tactics seem to be amazingly hip this year (scarecrows in your face, chainsaws inches away from your feet). I think FaceOff is reffering to the one night where, apparently, the entire crew of cornSTALKERS crew went on break except for one scarecrow who was right at the beginning of the midway (by Massacre Manor). Anyone else believe that Fear Street Nights was less themed than last year's House of Darkness? Or am I just imagining things?

Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006

^ Curses!! Foiled again! I just hope that the Avatar coaster is well-themed and just plain fun if we don't get Crash Course Boating School. -
Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
RingMaster replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
You know, I was looking at Screamscape.com, and I noticed information and artist renderings of Disney Studios Paris and their Toon Studios expansion. The ride in particular is Crush's Turtle Twisters- note that the cars themselves (shaped like Crush, of course) have a spinning mechanism and will manuever just like a regular Mouse Coaster. Yet this won't be up and running until 2007. Which gives PKI 2006 to release Avatar as this so-called first-of-its-kind coaster, as Siebert mentioned that Avatar will indeed be a spinning coaster. Here's the site in which you can see renderings of Turtle Twister: Crash's Turtle Twister Renderings Your prayers may be answered, MrPKI, as it's rumored that Great America may get a Survivor-themed ride in the form of either a half-pipe coaster or larger Zamperla Disko flat ride for 2006. -Matt (The RingMaster) -
Also notice the people in moore's pic and the people in harvester's pic- they are exactly the same (the pink and yellow shirts are a dead giveaway). And the OSTRs in the Six Flag pic are definitely from Vortex; Viper has orange-colored OSTRs. For shame, Six Flags....

^ They do have the chains on the saws for PsychoPath, I think. Would make a lot of sense not to have chains when you're running around and THROUGH large crowds.
