Ugh...Having the Osbournes starring in their own haunted maze is like having the Olsen twins backing IJ:ST. 'Cept it would be called The Olsen Twins: Driving School. Seriously, though, an MTV scare zone would be a bad idea; there's no aspect of MTV that could be used for a haunted attraction. Also, when you went through Curse of the Crypt last year, did ANYONE remember a short mummy with glasses lunging out from the darkness? Yeah, that was me! We had a rough time doing the Crypt 'cause the managers were so strict on what we could and could not do. That, and the fact that we ended FearFest with only 7 people working our maze.

^All they would have to do is manufacture new cars and give it a new paint job for it to be transformed into the FairlyOdd Coaster. If Crash Course Boating School is built, it ought to be just like what Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin is. If you want to see what it looks like, go to this web page; there's a quick video that'll hopefully play: Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin Page

What exactly is going to happen in HB?
RingMaster replied to BarkerCounty182's topic in Coming Attractions
exactly when are they going to start re-themeing HB? both nick or treat and winterfest have events in HB/NC, so will the kiddie rides be open or closed? *side note: Hey, Skippy, happy 150th post (even though it's kinda late)!* -
Finally I get time to update this thread! Hey, quick question-does anyone think it would be a cool idea to have a maze dedicated to walking through the cave where The Beast lives? I personally think it would be a lot better idea than my original idea, to put in Legend of the Lost, a more heavily-themed Curse of the Crypt. Also, I'm thinking of putting in a werewolf maze and mining maze in Rivertown. The name for the next area is Blood Gulch. The last area is in the Picnic Grove, so the only way in there is an employee path that goes through the back of Runaway Reptar, Log Flume and Nick Theater, but I don't have an idea for a theme. Any suggestions?

I just hope they don't clone our IJ:ST and plop it in the park; it's better to have subtle differences between similar attractions. The perfect example is TR:TR. Ours is indoors and has (somewhat) spectacular lighting, PKD's is outdoors and has an amazing fire effect (much better than IJ:ST's). Or maybe that's just Paramount's way of building attractions; they'll just clone rides, give them new paint jobs and a new name, and no one will know the difference. Here's a list of attractions that do this: Inverted Face-to-Face: Face-Off-PKI Invertigo-PGA Indoor Launch: Flight of Fear-PKI, PKD, PC Kiddie Inverted: Rugrats Runaway Reptar-PKI, PC Silver Streak-PCW Giant Frisbee: Delirium-PKI Psyclone-PCW Suspended: Top Gun-PKI Vortex-PCW Inverted: Top Gun-PC, PCW, PGA Wild Mouse: Psycho Mouse-PGA The Fly-PCW Ricochet-PC I believe there's more, but the others are probably from before Paramount took over. I also forgot to put down IJ:ST, seing as how next year there will be THREE Stunt Tracks (two Stunt Tracks and a Street Chase if PKD's has the name changed) that will look and feel all the same. I commend them for at least having unique coasters in each park (The Beast, Son of Beast-PKI; Volcano-The Blast Coaster, Anaconda, Hypersonic XLC-PKD; Borg Assimilator, Super Saturator-PC; Vortex-PGA; Tomb Raider-PCW), but this is sad.

I believe Sleepy Hollow is taking the spot of Curse of the Crypt (behind Coney Mall Games), because a new maze is being built right by IJ:ST. It's supposedly got the same layout as last year's SHH, but it's got a new theme to it. Also, a friend of mine pointed out that there are coffins over by the picnic grove. I'm not sure if they're just over there temporarily, if the picnic grove is going to be a new scare zone, or if those coffins are already gone.
-
Hopefully, the PKD will recieve more theming to it; ours looks kinda bare, especially with aerial shots of IJ. I guess the designers were going for a more abstract view of LA with highway signs and police cars, not having an extremely detailed block of Los Angeles in the middle of an Ohio amusement park. IJ:T should've been a Test Track clone with more turns and hills, that would've made it so much cooler!

I should thank you, hauntguy, for that info on PCW's FearFest; I really couldn't have made this up w/o you. Don't worry about the Circus, it's not gone. In fact, I believe it's time to introduce the next, although smallest, scare zone for FearFest-RingMaster's Edition. Enjoy! CarnEVIL-Rivertown Lake/Floral Clock Area The REAL fun is just beginning... 1) Scarousel-Grand Carousel (again, duh!) This age-old wonder of machinery becomes a ghastly reminder of the nightmares that plague Kings Island as the bright lights are dimmed to true darkness, the once-vibrantly colored horses are now pale skeletons, and eerie music plays in the foggy wind... 2) Midway of the Bizarre-Path around Floral Clock to Coney Mall/Rivertown Witness a spectacle unlike anything you've seen before as freaks of every imaginable shape and size and rejects of a different color flock to a truly bizarre outing...the Midway of the Bizarre. 3) Circus of Screams 4D: Nightmare under the Big Top-behind International Showplace Stage In four dimensions, come face-to-face with a ragtag band of deadly circus performers, demented animals, and, of course, carnivorous clowns, as they pull you out of the center ring and into a realm of sheer madness and destruction as the Nightmare under the Big Top returns to town. And everyone thought I was going to get rid of our beloved circus! Well, with three scare zones down and two to go, hopefully more people will get into reading this; I've only had 5 people compliment me. Thanks guys. So here's another hint as to what's next: one area has werewolves and miners in it, and the other area is under siege by a madman who can't get 'ahead' in life.

EDIT: It's hard to elaborate specifically on where these will go without the aid of a map, Bodda. Anyway, the next area, The Strip, has been posted. Enjoy! THE STRIP-Coney Mall One long road of hellishly good fun 1) House of Darkness Revisited-The Sports Shop Now bigger, longer and deadlier than its predecessor, this once beautiful Victorian manor is now the home of some nasty undead residents and spirits, led by the mysterious Bride, who have a taste for trespassing victims. 2) Maverik Asylum: The Maze of Madness-behind Coney Mall Games Within the halls of the psycho ward that Dr. Hyde Maverik built is an army of demented doctors, mutated monsters, and not-so-nice nurses bent on breaking out of the foreclosed asylum...even if it means killing innocent park goers to get their wish granted. 3) PsychoPath2-behind Flight of Fear Man-eating gators, vicious Venus fly traps, and massive arachnids join the cast of bloodthirsty hillbillies, psychotic convicts, and chainsaw-wielding madmen along this true trail of terror hidden deep within the forests of Kings Island. Don't forget to bring some bug repellent. 4) Destruction Zone-Maintenence Road behind Coney Refrehments/Euro Bungee A quick shortcut through an abandoned construction site turns into an ambush when rusted, aging machinery begin to move on their own, and the remnants of the 'skeleton' crew (no pun intended) suddenly re-appear for a night of mayhem. 5) UnHappy Days Diner-Happy Days Diner (duh!) Ralph, Potsie, the Cunninghams and, of course, the Fonz, are given a gruesome makeover, terrorizing guests and bopping to the updated rock remixes of classic 50s songs. It's ghoulsome family screams at UnHappy Days all over again. 6) Elvira's Superstition/FreakShow 3D-Action FX Theater Double your nightly terror as the Action Theater welcomes back Elvira's sensory coaster experience known only as the Superstition, and then introduces the wild and wicked crew of the all-new FreakShow...both in 3D! 7) Slaughter Street Fearzone-Brick Path between Coney Mall/Rivertown Raging carfires, overturned dumpsters and charred bones and flesh of previous PKI guests litter this city street. Now, a turf war between two rival gangs continues to ravage Slaughter Street, and park guests are right in the middle of it again. 8) Route 666-Italian Job: Stunt Track Taking on more dangers and obstacles than its predecessor, the new Route 666 has you racing through the demonic ruins of L.A. in an attempt to escape a cataclysmic Armageddon. Dodge car wrecks, chase through pitch-black tunnels and narrowly escape a fiery death from battling with the devil himself in this one-of-a-kind ride experience.

Just wanted to put out some idea of what Kings Island's FearFest could be if it took on PCW's Haunted Theme Park aspect. I'll have more in later days, and I'm going to attempt to make a park map showcasing where all the mazes, shows and scare zones will be. For now, enjoy! HORRORWOOD GHOULEVARD-International Street Glitz and glamour replaced with guts and gore 1) Back Lot Bloodbath-Administration Lot Go behind the scenes of Paramount's latest slasher flick, Back Lot Bloodbath, and get an "autograph" from some of your favorite movie monster icons. Freddy Kreuger, Mike Myers, Jason Voorhees, Chucky and others will be "glad" to have you visit them for a chance... 2) Scareamount Studios-Festhaus Journey back behind the silver screen and into a realm of movie madness when FearFest grabs the reigns of Paramount Pictures' most memorable films and turns them into unforgettable nightmares. 3) S.S. Frightanic-Viking Fury All aboard this dilapidated ghost ship still haunted by the passengers and crew from its first and last maiden voyage. 4) Halloween Express-Adventure Express A one-way ticket to the heart of all things evil is the basis for this family coaster that roars through a village plauged by a devilish force. 5) Graveyard Shift-International Showplace Stage This creepy collection of shock & roll, rhythm & ooze singers and dancers are working the graveyard shift at The Crypt, and a howling good time is bound to be had in this song and dance revue. Show Times: 9:00, 11:00 6) Breaking Point-International Bandstand Guests-turned-contestants are faced with gory, gruesome and grotesque challenges and obstacles in an attempt to be the last man standing (or in this case, alive) on this game show of the twisted. If you think you can survive what the "ghost host" throws at you, all we have for you is one question-what's your breaking point? Show Times: 8:30, 10:30 7) Phantom Theater: RIP (Reconstruction in Progress)-Paramount Theater The mad Maestro and his band of "spirited" performers have returned to terrorize Kings Island for the destruction of the old theater in Hanna-Barbera Land. Houdelini, Hilda Bovine, Garbonzo, and other fan favorites make a star comeback and are sure to strike fear into the hearts of old Phantom Theater fans and new FearFest guests! Show Times: 8:00, 9:30, 11:30 Tomorrow I should have the next scare zone all mapped out. Here's a hint: the next area is named The Strip. It shouldn't take long to figure out which area I'm talking about.

It's weird though with the percentage rating for Best New Ride. Best New Ride for 2005 (Amusement Park) Hades-Mt. Olympus Theme Park..............45% Kingda Ka-Six Flags Great Adventure.......16% Italian Job-Paramount's Kings Island........8% maXair-Cedar Point................................6% (tie) Powderkeg-Silver Dollar City...................6% (tie) SheiKra-Busch Gardens Williamsburg.......6% (tie) With as much time PKI spent advertising and promoting IJ:ST, you would think thi would recieve a higher rating. But I guess with the reservation ticket problem early in the season, and the conistent down-time it recieved, it's no wonder it got 8%. By the Way, Powderkeg and SheiKra should've been at least #2 and #3; they are both amazing rides, and Powderkeg has a much better fire effect than IJ:ST.

Either Slaughter Street or Back Lot Bloodbath. Both of those sound like really crepy attractions. It looks like Canada's Wonderland FearFest will be the true star in October...
-
Aside from the private companies PKI also closes down to set up FearFest. All the decorations, mazes (with the exception of the White Tent maze by IJ), and music are done in September, with a media preview the day before FearFest officially opens. They're doing the same thing this November, when they close down for half the month to set up Winterfest.
-
They usually do they just have variations of similar mazes. Every FearFest in 2004 had a Curse of the Crypt, House of Darkness, PsychoPath, and Sleepy Hollow-style maze. They also had a 3D maze, but each one was different. PKI has Circus of Horrors, PC had Alien Attack, and PKD had Freakshow.
-
Sorry for the double post, but I was going through the list for PCW's FearFest attractions and seeing what would be able to go in PKI's FearFest. I've also included a few of the old mazes with new names. They're broken up into the three areas mentioned earlier: MTV Rock & Scare-Action Zone/Oktoberfest Unreal World-Inside Festhaus Total Request-TimberWolf Entrance Friday the 13th-Paramount Theatre Studio Backlot Bloodbath-Coney Mall North/Rivertown Legend of the Lost: The Director's Cut-Tomb Raider: The Ride Queue Slaughter Street Fearzone-Brick Path Between Coney Mall North/Rivertown Elvira's Superstition-Action FX Theatre Funhouse Express-Action FX Theatre The Curse of Sleepy Hollow-Coney Mall South Massacre Manor-Beside Scrambler Blood Shed-Shed Beside Flight of Fear Cornstalkers-Behind Flight of Fear Headless Hollow-Wooded Trail Behind Flight of Fear Again, this is just my idea of what could be placed where. I just wanted to place these 'new' attractions in a set of logical positions. Thanks!

Clowns and psychos and chainsaw-wielding madmen, oh my! Sorry, I just had to do that.
-
Seems as if the guys behind the Mission: Impossible Stunt Show are also the same group behind some of the best stunt shows/attractions in the world (Waterworld, Back to the Future, Templo del Fuego), so MI:SS has to be good. It also sounds like each Paramount Park will get this show as it seems to be a traveling stunt show. The Jimmy Neutron ride is a big flop. I rode it last year at USF, and it is one big flop. The old Hanna-Barbera ride was WAY better than this.
-
The mazes/scare zones sound wicked! If PKI does (and hopefully will) get this update, FearFest will get the respect that it deerves. I am definitely going to get this year's events on tape!
-
It really would make a lot of sense to have the Carwash in the form of a Roller Soaker; I don't think there's any more room in HB/Nick Central to put another big flat/dark ride if SpongeBob is put where the Nick Theater is. Still, if the Carwash is a Roller Soaker, then the Water Maze and Scooby's Ghoster Coaster would have to go. That's the only real spot for it to fit. Oh, yeah, I voted for SpongeBob 'cause indoor/outdoor/dark ride/coasters are my thing.
-
Better suggestion would be to rehab it to make it look better and give Scooby-Doo a "real" feel to it. The cheap, cardboard cutouts won't have to go-they'll just blend in with more fluidly-animated robots/animatronics, a'la Buzz Lightyear. That's a great example. I would love to see the SpongeBob coaster and Carwash put in next year; it would give the average family a better choice of ride experiences than just the three that we have already (SDATHC, Runaway Reptar, Wild Thornberrys).
-
I heard that Sleepy Hollow may be taking over the train. So I'm guessing Rivertown is the Headless Horseman's new home. Also, I've also seen construction on the new maze in the white tent by IJ. It looks like some sort of a house design, and it looks beautiful. Does anyone have an idea as to what this new maze is supposed to be?
-
A Nick Central expansion is a definite for next year. I'm just not sure if the Crash Course Boating School will make it or not. They'll probably announce it by the end of this month; it wouldn't make much sense announcing in September if 1) we're only open on weekends and 2) we're not open to the public.
-
Seems as if Huss has been screwing up lately. Tomb Raider's power source and Delirium's motor are two prime examples. Is there anyone here that knows if Max-Air at CP is working ok?
-
Short, sweet and to the point. Even though it was WAY overhyped, it's one of the best family rides at PKI. Unfortunately, they're still working the kinks out of the ride (the helicopter now doesn't move up down, and I don't think they've installed the motion seats for the subway stair scene yet), and it breaks down a lot. But the wait is worth it.
-
I talked to a few of my supervisors about the 2006 rumors and, although they had to keep things 'hush-hush', they did tell me that all of the HB kiddie rides are being re-themed to Nick rides. Unfortunately, they couldn't say if the rumored new rides (SpongeBob dark ride, Nick Carwah) are to be made.
