  1. Ok, these were some of my ideas that I posted on ExtremePKI (you know, that....other...PKI fan site) so, I thought I'd bring my ideas, and some new ones, over here: International Street/Oktoberfest Ideas: -First-off, re-open the International Restaurant so that it'll give guests a second reason to stay in International Street (other than the Eiffel Tower) -add a dark ride/boat ride that goes through some of Paramount's famous and major flicks (Magic of the Movies: The Ride) -update Paramount Story so that it's up to date (up to War of the Worlds, at least) -re-theme Oktoberfest to a New Orleans-style area, because of Bubba Gump's Shrimp Shack -re-theme Adventure Express to Bayou Express (better design, longer track, updated special effects) -re-theme Festhaus so that it is one big Hollywood Diner thingy. Action Zone Ideas: -Re-design Action Zone so that it's not one big dead-end -re-name the area to Stunt Central, or something like that -take out Days of Thunder for a new Aeon Flux flat ride (Jump2, maybe) -re-theme Congo Falls to a more action-y style ride (Dynamite Falls) -repair Top Gun and put back in the pre-show thingy. -add a new path by Aeon Flux ride to Sling Shot/Adventure Express spot. Coney Mall Ideas: -Can you say, MAJOR overhaul for Coney Mall? -first things first, move IJ:ST over to where the Flight Pad used to be (beside Flight of Fear) -add another flat ride in between Racer/Flight of Fear -put in Addams Family Reunion Coaster where IJ:ST originally was -re-theme and repair Vortex so that it blends in with SRAR and Happy Days Diner (Rock 'n' Roller Coaster) -same to SRAR with the re-theme to blend in with Happy Days Diner and Vortex Rivertown Ideas: -Re-theme Rivertown to a jungle theme involving Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones (Deep Amazon) -see if we can get Universal's old Kongfrontation ride as it's now in the scrap heap (due to our 1976 remake rights) -re-design Beast's queue line and station to that of a forbidden ruined outpost station, OR steal Disney's Expedition: EVEREST idea and incorporate it into The Beast coaster -re-do TR:TR so that its pre-show flows through more rooms and has a second ride building to help with guest control -also, have a longer ride time (around 5-6 minutes) with bigger and better special effects (and actuals pyrotechnics now that Firefall at PKD has been built) -re-do the train so that it resembles the Backlot Tram Tour of Disney/Universal -re-theme White Water Canyon so that its a Jungle Cruise/Indiana Jones-style ride (Jade Snake Canyon Rapids) -re-theme Wings Diner to the Tomb Raider Outpost or something like that Nickelodeon Universe Ideas: -Put in Crash Course Boating School (if those "idiots" don't decide to put it in there already) -add the Nick CarWash ride from the '04 concept survey into NU, darn it! Boomerang Bay Ideas: -Add some more new slides into Boomerang Bay (along with some more shade, darn it!) -add either a water coaster (like Journey to Atlantis) or a floorless B&M (like Kraken or Medusa) themed to the Outback (I cant come up with a name) ......long post, wasn't it?
  2. ....or just rename Nick Universe to the Nickelodeon County Fair.
  3. ....of course I hope you realize that there's a Hanna-Barbera movie ride in store for this year at the Action FX Theater? It's called The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, and it was originally at Universal Orlando from 1990-2002 before they got rid of it and replaced it with The Craptasctic Ride feat. Jimmy Neutron and Nickelodeon (pun intended ). Other than that, I watch more Hanna-Barbera stuff than Nick stuff (even though Boomerang and Nicktoons Network are my two favorite channels), but I'm still hyped up for Nick Universe as much as the next guy is. But, one question..... .....where is my CRASH COURSE BOATING SCHOOL?!
  4. ...which brings up the question, has Kings Island ever taken out a ride that was less than ten years old (other than The Bat)? Any guesses that Dominion's FOF is now under an extensive re-theme? If so, to what theme will it be made under? -SoundWave (originally with MTV at the front, but they got rid of it) -War of the Worlds/Star Trek (lots of people want FOF to continue its sci-fi atmosphere) -Addams Family Coaster (can't really see this kooky family overrtaking Hangar 18, but it could be an idea) One last thing, if this rumor of Vortex being taken out at the end of this season is true, then are there any guesses as to what will take its place (obviously a coaster of sorts )? -Addams Family Coaster (the massive ravine and forested area will help aid the overall scare factor of the coaster's environment) -Mission: Impossible Coaster (makes sense now that Canada's Wonderland is receiving the Stunt Show, so a high-speed thrill rush with Tom Cruise is bound to happen) -Themed coaster provided by investment firm/entertainment group who buys the parks (Paramount did the same with Top Gun, as it was originally named Thunder Road)
  5. ....like have a better football and baseball team? Sorry, I just had to say that. Also, I'll be going on the tour thing, too. We ought to have a meeting spot for just us PKICers. That way we can show the ACErs that they got some competition this year.
  6. .....What do they call pop on the west coast then? Fountain drinks?
  7. .....I coulda sworn someone said that it would be an investment frim that would be buying the parks. And what's he mean by "entertainment group?" Don't tell me it's Cedar Fair. I'd much rather it be Busch Gardens/Sea World that bought us.
  8. ...If that is the case, then let's hope these execs have some more common sense and ride ideas/concepts than what Paramount's concocting as of now.
  9. ........Never knew that. Wonder what it would be like if that particular company wanted to have five more parks under its belt?
  10. Bush parks? What is this, Texas? It's the two Busch Gardens parks, Skooter. There's one in Williamsburg, Virginia (which has the best themed rides)..... .....and one in Tampa Bay, Florida (which has the best roller coasters). I seriously hope Anheiser-Busch (sp?) gets a hold of the Paramount Parks....or at least Kings Island. Or whoever owns Dollywood down in Pigeon Forge. Dollywood has added something almost every year.....but they're only one theme park. Perfect example of why Busch should but the Paramount Parks......DarKastle. Remember the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride at Universal? It's the same exact ride, only with a different theme. But you would have NEVER expected a parka like Busch Gardens Williamsburg to get something of that magnitude. They add ground-breaking roller coasters (Kraken, Apollo's Chariot, Gwazi, SheikRa) along with rides for the whole family (Journey to Atlantis, Pompeii, Darkastle). ...there's my two cents for the day. Didn't make much sense, did it?
  11. .....Well, all this talk is fun and all, but there is still one question left to be answered. "...Guests enter the adventures of Bikini Bottom through a pineapple under the sea to experience SpongeBob SquarePants’ underwater world." Are we still getting this SpongeBob attraction? And if so, is this attraction the Crash Course Boating School ride, or something completely different?
  12. I thought the Backyardigans were overtaking the Swingset, hence why it would be called the Backyardigans Swing-A-Long. Nah, the building's probably being torn down and they might be making a new one to put Chick-Fil-A in. Either that or they'll revamp the building because, right now, it resembles too much of Magilla Gorilla's Grill from the past.
  13. Most likely it will be. I think it'll be re-themed to the Rugrats, like Tommy's Take-off, or something like that.
  14. Are you sure it was I Street and not Coney Mall? I remember the Associate Training in March and Coney Mall North (or South, IDK, it was by Dodegms down to Vortex) was covered in dirt and grime. Amazing how quickly they cleaned up the area by the time Sneak Preview Day rolled around. Now about the other three rides... ...are the Dora and Blue rides also Zamperla rides? And what about the "underwater SpongeBob world?" I had heard that the Crash Course Boating School concept had been canned in place of a BIGGER, BETTER attraction. A sort-of dark ride/coaster combo for Nick Universe. But I think it's just a rumor. So I'm lost on the whole thing.
  15. Actually, if you've been keeping up with our next door neighbors at the Great Wolf site, they are coming along FAST. In fact, they've only been working for three and a half months, and one of the wings is near completion. Also, IJ:ST didn't begin receiving track pieces until mid-February, I think. They had the parking garage up and footers in for the track at around this time, so don't underestimate the power of PKI. They are some quick little devils.
  16. No, we wouldn't but I think AZ is good how it is. How many backlots have trees and shaded areas? ....Well, how many Paramount Parks have backlots?
  17. Yeah, it's really hard picturing that area as it originally was, now that it's completely empty. Remember when it was a bunch of trees, shade, and tons of kiddy rides? Now it's just......one tree, and the rest is dirt. ....And let's all assume that they'll keep their promise on giving us more shaded areas for Universe. I don't think any of us would want it to resemble Action Zone, now would we?
  18. It was a nice email. For those of you who have known her for a while now, you can back me up in saying that she's a very nice and sincere individual. Any of the 'exclusive' things that PKIC brings you is usually in some way a result of Maureen going out of her way to make sure that you guys get the best of the best. She doesn't just respond to her emails and take your phone calls because it's her job, she truely does enjoy the interaction. We're lucky to have her. I'm glad to have her too, even though I'm just now "meeting" her for the first time now. I was just surprised how quickly she responded to my email. But I still miss Jeff. He was really cool. Hopefully, Maureen won'ty leave anytime soon this season. *crosses his fingers*
  19. [sARCASM] They are. They're a bunch of evil JERK MONKEYS. I mean, look at all the "crap" they gave us: -Flight of Fear (crap) -Action FX Theater (crap) -Face-Off (double crap) -Drop Zone (pseudo-crap) -Son of Beast (oh yeah, definite crap) -Delirium (in the immortal words of Bart Simpson, it's "craptacular!") -Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle (crap for the whole family) -Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay (I don't know the Aussie term for "crap") -Italian Job: Stunt Track (crap at 45 mph....with a cool soundtrack!) Seriously, look at all that CRAP!! [/sARCASM] ...Seriously, though, Maureen's gotta be a BEAST to read all that (my email), then type up all that (her email), and send it back to me within the span of two minutes. .....And that WOULD be scary. Seeing someone lookin at me like I was a clean 5 dollar bill.
  20. At least we know they are watching you. Kind of a scary thought, though, isn't it? Now we know we are being watched, and now we have to watch what we say.
  21. It's STILL not fair! I emailed Maureen at PKI about the Nick Universe concept art and Crash Course, and I got an email back from her.....less than TWO MINUTES after I had sent it. Subject: RE: Nick Universe 2006 Date: Wed, 1 Feb 2006 18:40:16 -0500 From: "Kaiser, Maureen" <Maureen.Kaiser@ParamountParks.com> Add to Address Book Add Mobile Alert To: "Matt Godfrey" <sykotic_grim_the_clown@yahoo.com> Hi, Matt. Thanks so much for your email. We are also VERY!!!!! excited about Nick Universe. Unfortunately, we won’t have any concept art….until the area is actually built and we can take actual photos. I can assure you that it is going to be incredible. Our new attractions include (as mentioned on PKIC a few weeks ago)….. Avatar: The Last Airbender The Phantom Flyers Plankton’s Plunge We definitely keep all of the results from the concept surveys….so you never know when these might show up, either now or in the future!! Have a fantastic night! Maureen Kaiser, APR Paramount's Kings Island Why must they do this to us?!
  22. Then it'd be more like Universal's Island of Adventure Ohio, or something like that. Either that, or Universal Studios Cincinnati. .....I know, I don't make any sense either.
  23. Yep. It's a Disko'. And it's probably that massive 40-person Giant Disko' from the Zamperla site. When do the track pieces for Avatar come in? Anyone know?
  24. ......Revenge of the Mummy. And that's all I can think of right now.
  25. That can only mean one thing..... ......School of Rock is comin' back for Season Two!
