Yea, its no longer there, LOL. I was wondering why no one else said anything about it. I used to see it from my home computer too.
-
Just b/c you sign a waiver, they still wont let you go out there if its unsafe. They dont want anyone to get hurt and if they did let someone on there w/ the ice the way it was and if they did get hurt, the media would have a field day.
-
Oh yea. Rickster and I had some "funny" things to say about that
-
This Probably doesn't go here, but I didnt know where to post it. Everytime I get on this site anymore, there is a banner at the bottom of this site that says "You are not authorized to view this page". Why is it there? and what used to be there? Or is it just a broken link? Thought I would just bring it up since it has been that way for a few days now.
-
I dunno, but she was the hot one in it! LOL
-
I thought they had it set up so that it would be ice no matter how warm it was (up to 70 degrees), so what would a little snow matter? esp if they have a zamboni on it?

OMG, you are nuts!

Jungle Jim's International Market

The one on display looked faked to me (the one on the station). I thought it had shadow's of people in there? But it's been a while since i have been there. -
Trust me, you can't. The track and wheels expand and contract in different temps (just like anything else). When its cold out, it is really hard for the train to move at it's normal speed (if at all). Why do you think Vortex and other coasters remain close when it's cold out?
-
To tell you the truth, it is the manufactors who state that steel coasters cannot run below a certain temp. I know on Vortex though, when it is cold, the trains are slower thru-out the ride and is possible for it to acutally hang since it would be so slow. I know PKI wont even try to run start ups on Vortex if it is any were close to 50. Now, if the track temp is warmer then the air temp when the air temp is about 50 or so, Vortex is fine (as long as it is in a continous run or if the air temp is not falling below 48 or so). If it stops for a long period, the track temp and the train temp lowers and then the ride shuts down due to weather. But I really dont know how Carowinds is able to run steel coasters unless its above 50 up there most of the time.
-
If you want to run FOF in the winter, you need to heat that building. After sitting for periods of time when the temp is 30 something (if not lower), FOF's track is going to be in the temperature ranger where a steel coaster cannot run (which is below 50). Plus, that drum is not insulated and gets very cold in there, trust me. If PKI was in a warmer climate, it may be possible, but with it being right here in Cincinnati with Cincinnati's weather, just be happy its even open now.

Jungle Jim's International Market

I would go to Jungle Jim's just to ride the monorail and not really shop -
^and ruin a brand new Paramount's Kings Island sign that is located out front.
-
Must be me b/c I don't see Paramount's Kings Island.
-
Are all the rides on there? What are the pieces suppose to be? My main reason wanting to know is if FOF is any part of it.
-
People like to fight about stupid stuff. It's one reason why I haven't been on here in a few days. I get tired of hearing it.
-
You also save 40% on 1 ticket if you purchase it at Krogers or Blockbuster or online.

They are also announcing this all over the media. Think about it guys, It takes a lot of time and effort to clean up the the park that is open the the guests. The train prob. cant run (for safty reason and the depth of the snow on the tracks), prob too cold, Ice Skating rank is prob a mess, and they are prob not expecting a high vol. crowd tonight. Some cities are still in snow emergancies which means that some cities are banning anyone from driving on the roads UNLESS it's and emergancy or emergancy vehicles. And frankly, do YOU want to be stuck outside for 5 + hours in temperatures that are 20 and below working on the same ride/spot all night long? I dont think so!!!! Why is everyone so hard on all of the park's decision? I think it is a great choice to make and if you HATE the park soo much, STOP COMING!
-
You guys saying that the employees are lucky or b/c I notified everyone?
-
It'll be open on Saturday and Sunday.
-
Guys, the park is closed today. Visit www.pki.com to see for yourself. All tickets purchased for today will be HONORED for the rest of Winterfest!!!!
-
And there we go feeding that fire again.
-
Here, read this: CinWeekly As the article states, its about the memories and good times. Not about the rides!
-
Every coaster in that park cannot operate in cold temps anyway. If you don't like to spend time outside looking at the lights and just having a good time with your friends and family, then Winterfest is not for you and you should not even go. Again, as everyone stated before, it is about the magical experience, the lights, the shows, the good times. What gets me is that people complain and complain about PKI not having Winterfest. When they do finally bring it back, everyone complains about the rides not being open. What did you expect? Frankly, even if the rides could operate in cold temps, I would not want to freeze my noze off. I just go having fun looking at the lights and just being in awe that my fav past time w/ KI was brought back. Just ask Therickster. I was just amazed at it and was being a little kid again.
