After work the night before, one of my sups suggests that all of the opens the next day all go around the park and ride rides, and since I live there, I went. We finished work, changed our clothes, and off we went! Here's basically the overall thing of the day: It rained all the time we were working, then as soon as our shift was up, NO RAIN! The rain drove everyone out of the park and almost every ride was a walk-on. This included: Delirium (1 ride wait) Drop Zone (1 ride wait) Face/Off (3 ride wait) Racer (no wait) FoF (1 ride wait) Vortex (no wait) Beast (no wait) I'm only gonna cover the major things in this review, cause we got to do so much in only 4 hours. Beast was extremely rough, but this was explainable because the track was still wet from the rain. We played dumb guest at many rides. This included Face/Off ("How many trains are you running today?"), and of course our home rides, FoF ("How do you put this seat belt on?") and Zephyr ("Can you hold my shoes?" " Come on guys! Let's all hold hands!"). Don't worry, we quit when the time came. Also, I got to ride Xtreme Skyflyer for the first time, EVER. Here's my ride review: I walk into the ride area, surprised that I am actually riding it (I'm not telling why), and scared at the same time. Trust me, this was one ride I was not expecting to ride that day. We get suited up, and then the time came to chose who was going to pull the cord. Both me and the person I was gonna go with (we had 4 people, 2 groups of 2) didn't want to pull it, because we were both so intimidated. Eventually, I said I would do it, because there was little to no chance the other person would pull out the guts to pull it (trust me, she was saying she was gonna kill the person that brought this ride up she was so scared). We walk into the ride area onto the platform, it rises, and then we get hooked up. Let me tell you, the scariest part of the whole ride is when you are hooked in, and they begin to lower the platform. Even though they tell you not to grab onto the walls, as soon as the platform lowers and you go face first towards the platform, your hands instantly reach out and try to grab the walls for support. At this point, we are hanging with our faces towards the ground thinking, "How the hell did I get into this?" The platform goes down the rest of the way, and everyone gets out of the flight path. We begin our trip up the tower and up, and up, and up. When we finally reached the top, I instantly start looking for the rip cord to make sure I will be ready to take the plunge. As soon as I hear "3" I am facing the ground, hand on the cord, preparing for the scariest plunge of my life. "2, 1, FLY!" I pull the cord, and we instantly go even more forward so it seems like our feet are above our heads, and our trip begins. Instantly I yell, "OH MY GOD!!!" Let me tell you, going down 152 feet with no track below you, and no track above you is an amazing, and frightening feeling. We reach the bottom of the swing barely missing the ground, and reaching a very high speed. The wind is blowing my hair back. After the first drop the whole feeling of being frightened leaves me, and I enjoy being swung back and forth over Action Zone. After a couple more swings, by partner also gives in to the rush and puts her arms out as if she was flying. As we begin to stop the swinging, the ride operators put up the ring and we slowly come to a stop. If you have never ridden Xtreme Skyflyer before, RIDE IT! It is an amazing ride, and very frightening for the first ride, but only at the start. Everyone should ride this at least one time this year! Well, that was pretty much it. The only other notable things we did was go back and seek revenge on Adventure Express crew because they were making fun of us, and stapling each other (pushing down each others lap bar down more than usual). We quickly found out that our sup has the strange ability to always get out of being stapled. So to make this long post shorter, Xtreme Skyflyer IS AMAZING!!!

Those hicks frighten me! Seriously, haven't they ever heard of hygene?

This saturday as in tomorrow? If you are, LOOK FOR ME! I am working all day. Also, how were you considered VIP enough to get in? I'm guessing I know who this certain person is, but PM me with who it was so I'm sure (still haven't seen him at the park, always looking). Charles, My nametag says "Brad", I normally work at FoF or Zephyr, and I look like Harry Potter

It seems to be the old antique station. I really wish they would do something other than let it rot away. Maybe put in a faster version of them in there, like take the days of thunder cars, but them on the track, bank the track, and VWALA! A new car ride intertwined with Tiques! (we would need to speed up the cars though...)

Ace needed for travel channel show at K.I.

Can non-ACE members be employees? If not, THIS BLOWS! Stupid parents not letting me join ACE... -
1. The employees at CP were rude to me. I think I only saw one courtious employee there. 2. CP is shaded, but not nearly as much as Rivertown. 3. Their new rides are very uncreative. 4. PKI totally owns CP (seriously, lets just buy CP and take the good rides *coughCHAOScough* and leave the rest to become scrap metal.)

What if you were king/queen of PKI for a week?
StXBomber replied to italianchef's topic in Kings Island
I'd go Holiday World style and offer free drinks! Also, I'd lower the prices on those pay rides. I have only ridden two of them, and only because I was lucky / went on a day that it was free. -
I was going to post this last night and be the first to announce Bubba Gumps, but my computer crashed. I started by meeting my group of friends at 9:30 at front gate and we headed to the coney mall entrance and waited for the gate to lower. We first head over to FoF to say hi to my crew and to play "dumb guest" (Where does this seat belt go?). Of course, this gets me an extra push on my lap bar, giving me a very tight ride. It's still the best coaster in the park, even with an extra tight lap bar! After that, we decide to head to AZ because one of the people in our group hadn't ridden it yet. On the way we hit Racer, because recaR wasn't working. This was my first time on Racer this year, and it's still the same (I still think recaR is better). After some begging from a girl in our group, we ride Adventure Express. This was my first ride on it this year. As the train was dispatching, one operator was making fun of FoF crew by waving her thumb wildly. As soon as she told me exactly what crew she was making fun of, I politely informed her that I was on FoF crew. This made the driver and girl doing the joke instantly start cracking up. This was a good start to the ride. It would be a good ride, if it were not for many things. The guy at the end is still cyclops, and the theming is just so corny. It's also very rough! I don't remember it being so rough! We then head over to the looming Delirium. We wait only about 4 rides or so, then get on. A great ride, as always. My friends loved it. After that, Face/Off was broken and Drop Zone had a long line, so we convince the girls to ride SoB with us (I had to see these new restraints). To do this, I promised that I'd sit in the back of a car, so I had a very rough ride. The new bars don't seem to help it from being rough. After this rough ride, we head to SDatHC for some Scooby action. Out of the group of 5, I tied for first with one other person with a score of 870. We then start heading to RT where I get an ICEE (I LOVE those things!) and we all get some LaRosas Pizza. After a nice lunch, we go on over to The Beast. It was a great ride, until one of the people in our group reached over the seat into the seat next to me, and knocked off the glasses of one of the girls in our group. And with the speed the train is going through the 3rd tunnel (first time through helix), I'm afraid they are broken. Since she was upset about losing her glasses, we decided she could pick the next ride, and she wanted a kiddy ride. So on our way to HBL/NC, we pass TRTR and see that it is still closed. We go by WTRA and see that it has a long line, and since I wanted a new ride, we go on Reptar. FIRST TIME RIDE REVIEW: Yes, this was my first time on this EVER, and I must say, it's not that bad! I didn't really pay attention to the movie before the ride, but it gives the little ones something to do while waiting. We get into the station and head right to the front seat. As we were waiting to depart, I see the ride ops playing a joke on another ride, with a guy pretending to be a girl on the phone. That gave me a laugh. Well, the ride starts and instantly start screaming like a maniac (which I do on almost every kiddie ride with my friends) and after awhile, I realize it's actually a pretty good ride as long as you sit in the front seat! I stopped my screaming and enjoyed the ride for what it was. After this, I can't remember the order of rides, but here's my review of the other rides we rode after this: I rode DZ for the first time this year, and forgot how scary the drop is! I was gripping the handle so hard! recaR opened back up later in the day, and we rode that. Once again, a great ride! Love that air-time! We all rode Dodgems, and this was my first time riding it in a long time. I loved it! Try to go the whole cycle driving the wrong way, and not hit anyone (or get hit). It's too hard! We rode Vortex, still hard on the neck, and I got stuck in the back seat of a car, but at least it was the very back, so it wasn't that bad. Eagles are back to full cycle! One girl sat out this ride (she was feeling sick) said it looked like my Eagle had lost control I was snapping it so much! Ah, love dem Eagles! Well, that pretty much sums it up! Also, as said in an earlier TR for this day, Bubba Gumps is now completely open. Yes, ALL of it, not just the back porch thing, the restaurant itself it now open. I didn't get to go inside, but the outside looks great!
-
Ah, that MUST have been Brenda! She actually posts here on these forums (even though I haven't seen here here in awhile...) I try to do stuff like that sometimes, not like singing though. Sometimes if we only have a couple people riding, I'll have a screaming contest and whoever is loudest will get one of the dolls people can win at the park's games that hade been left at the ride and never claimed for days. I know Beast crew does this sometimes as well.
-
hmmmmm.... I didn't see the actual valley, but I did see them running it with only one person riding. I'm guessing they were testing it out again after it closed down.
-
it was running today. YOU LIE! lol
-
did you try the "update" button? I'll look for you tomorrow (I'm off!). I should be there with a group of friends who are non-PKI employeed.
-
So THATS why I can't snap anymore! I was able to do it earlier this year, and couldn't do it for awhile, and wondered why! MAKE THE EAGLES LONG AGAIN! PLEEEEEEEASE! And sorry about not getting you into FoF again today. Those darn restraints, you never know when they are gonna let people in! And sorry about you being sick. Hope your next TR will be much better.... wait a second... *runs into SOBRider's room and steals his time machine* Hey guys! Here's his next TR! Today was an amazing day! First I head on over to TRTR and it's actually OPEN! I go in and say hi to FoF. I sit down into the seat and with a little help from FoF, I FIT! What a great ride, even all of the theming was working! After that I go to the Eagles, and guess what? They are back to full cycle! Snap city! I am so glad that I can snap again. Then I go to FoF and see StXBomber there working hard as always. I get into the back seat, and with the help of a couple ride ops, including StXBomber, I get into the seat, very snugly. Great ride as always. Is it just me, or did they make the ride even better since I rode it last? I wanted to see if I could beat my high score on SDatHC, so I head in that direction, where I see Yogi as Scooby Doo. Those kids love him! Well I ride and get a score of 3760! NEW HIGH SCORE!!! It was getting close to the time I had to leave, so I go on over to to Delirium, and what a ride! I tip my hat to Huss for making such a masterpiece! I must say, this day was awesome!
-
Yeah, FoF worked at FoF for 3 years (am I correct?) and this year he switched to TRTR. Maybe he needs to get a new sn, possibly TRTR.
-
As one of the two people from FoF crew on this site, I must say thank you for the complement. I was working at Beast that day, so I cannot take credit though. Our crew tries very hard at keeping smoking in the hanger to a minimum. As soon as we see a person smoking, we chime in and remind people that they can't smoke while in line. And next time you ride FoF, look for me! If I'm not there, I'm most likely at Zephyr.
-
Look in my sig. You've prolly seen me if you've ridden Zephyr this year. I've run that thing sooooo much!
-
Sorry, my ride cancelled on it. An appointment they already had or something like that. I hope you will have another book signing soon! If not, at least I might see you at the park!
-
WWC hands down. The only bad thing about it is the line!
-
Any new ride types? Could there be a giant frisbee somewhere in there? *nudge nudge*
-
I am working a close that day, and I live near Kenwood, so I should be there! Can't wait to meet you! (I wont be able to stay very long, work await me right after)
-
wait... DID THEY RELEASE WACKY WORLDS EARLY??? I thought it wasn't coming out until August!!!
-
HANDS UP!!! Of course, I do seem to be getting bored of the coasters at PKI. They need something new! Oh, and keeping hands up on SoB in the rain is HARD!!!
-
LMFAO!!! What a great explination for the statue! I should've known! It's all making sense now! The new ride will be themed to an italian kitchen! Raging Italy, coming in 2004! I'm sure Charles would be in heaven if that was the new ride!
-
I know that the park tells news people when they will announce the new rides sometime before the announcement (so the news people will be there), but is there a way for the general public to be told when the announcement will be made, so we can be there when they announce the new rides?
-
Well, I ask that Aaron (and the rest of the PKIU staff) considers this suggestion. And if you want to see some of my RCT2 parks, go here and here.
