Yes, thanks beastfreak. I was not surprised at all. The public has been wanting a new coaster for awhile now, and this is proof. Aren't these the same surveys that people take in the park?
-
uh... dumb thing to say in a forum with alot of people on it work at PKI. You line jumped, stop whining about something you did. SAVING SPOTS IS LINEJUMPING!!! Jeez, some people... so what RIPCobra is trying to say is... "I line jumped. I'm mad I got caught. I'll take my anger out on employees"
-
If I did find out what the new ride is, I wouldn't be able to tell you. Confidentiality stuff. Yes, wooden coasters take longer, but steel takes a long time also. Not as long, but still longer than a flat. I do hope we get a coaster soon, like the next few years. With Reptar being the last coaster, we need a new big one!

I'm glad our tips paid off! Yes, friday was one of the buisiest days I have seen. The line for Flight of Fear reached 2 hours at one time! Also, many of the smaller rides that never had lines had a 10 minute wait! Maybe even more!

Same here! I mean, it's August, and we're getting close to weekend only operation. We have seen nothing. The announcement should be soon (I hope), but with this late announcement, it doesn't seem like it will be a coaster. I mean, didn't they announce SoB pretty early in the year? It's hard to hide construction of a coaster, so they announce them earlier. I hope we do get a coaster soon, but I agree with SoBRider, it doesn't look like this year will be a coaster. But hey, who knows, maybe they just got lazy .

I started my day by meeting my friend and co-worker Jeff at Coney just as they opened the rest of the park up, and headed right to our fav ride, FoF. Walk right on to the front seat for the first ride of the day. Ah, I just LOVE that ride... We then take a trip down memory lane (aka, Coney Mall) and take a ride on Vortex (second to last seat, of course). Nothing very big, but it was a walk on. Then we were off to the Eagles for a SNAP-OFF!!! Jeff vs. Me, who came out victorious? ME! We started off and I was the first one on the scoreboard to get an audible snap, and I didn't stop. Jeff took awhile to get going, but got some good snaps in himself. After that, our most unreliable ride TRTR (or as I now pronounce it, Tur Tur) was actually open and running! It was a rare walk-on. The guy sorting the riders out even joked about it. "Sorry about this long wait." Jeff wanted to get nailed by the water jets, while I wanted to stay dry. He thought he had found a soaker seat, but it turns out he was one off. The water jet shot right at the empty seat between him and I. He was pretty mad about that... A short walks away, we go to The Beast and do the oldest joke in the book... *jumps up and down as passes greeter* "LOOK! I'm line-jumping!" *greeter ignores us* Front seat on Beast is still the best seat. We then go into HBL only to find the Scooby line past the exit, so we keep on walking to AZ. First we look at Delirium, the line is an hour and Jeff doesn't want to wait that long. Next is Drop Zone, same thing. Next Face/Off, closed. What next? SoB, still closed. We don't want to come into AZ for nothing, so we get a ride in Top Gun and point out all of the ads for Gillette Mach 3 (We counted 5 ads in the ride). Not a fun time in AZ... We then start heading back to Coney and ride Adventure Express on the way. What an under-rated ride. Always a walk on, and not that bad of a ride. We then ride Racer 2 times in a row, once in front, once in back. Great air-time, and great stapling action (Jeff yelling "I HATE THIS RIDE!"). I love that ride... We then decide to have our second competition of the day, SPIN-OFF!!! Jeff won round 2 of our competition with his spinning skills. I mean, he was only moving his legs and he was spinning faster than I was! I also figured out how to spin fast while the ride is running. Sit on the far right of the pod, and let the spinning begin! EDIT: Oops, I forgot to say this was on Monster. It wasn't that hard to figure out what ride I was talking about though, what other ride can you determine how fast you spin? Ride on Zephyr, and the Zephyr song comes into my head... We get bored and decide to ride the Antique Cars, and I drive. Of course, I play bad cheuffer and turn the wrong way on the turns. About halfway I realize that my car is going faster than the car ahead of us, and we are getting close. I start to tailgate it and push the pedal down, let go, push it down again, let it go again, and over and over. We then have enough time for another spin on the Monster, and then he has to go to start working (what can I say, it was my day off). I have about an hour left, so I head over to AZ to give it another try. I get in the 45 minute line for Deli, only for it to break down as I am the next one on. Grrrr... The last ride was Racer, and a 3 train wait turned into a 30 minute disaster. 2 of the trains had people stuck in the seats and the ride ops couldnt get them out. It made me late for my ride out of the park. An overall decent day, but AZ/Racer could have been much better OVERAL REVIEW: Adventure Express: 2 rides (8/10) Racer: 3 rides (6/10) Top Gun: 1 ride (4/10) Delirium: 0 rides (0/10) FoF: 1 ride (10/10) Monster: 2 rides (9/10) Zephyr: 1 ride (8/10) Vortex: 1 ride (10/10) Eagles: 1 ride (10/10) Beast: 1 ride (9/10) Tur Tur: 1 ride (9/10) Yeah, most of the ratings are 7 or higher, what can I say, it was a great day except for AZ and Racer.

Yeah, I can't figure out how they would do auditions for it. Do the people go into a room and scream or something? I mean, they do call them scream tests (I do believe).
-
I just imagined Face/Off would be because of the long lines due to one train, and all of the ques before you go under the ride all in a small space. Now that you mention it, Vortex would be a place with alot of line jumping... Well, there is a catwalk in the hanger (If I remember correctly...) and it would add to the theming! I mean, it is supposed to be a high security military base, and wouldn't it be cool looking to see a security guard with one of those sniping rifles (fake of course) walking back and forth patroling the area.
-
I hope you enjoy your time at the park! There are many things to do, so your family will have plenty to keep themselves entertained with. Will you be posting on the site during your visit?
-
I must say, Knott's Berry Farm in Cali did have security guards in each of their big rides' lines. It does help, and I think it should be implemented. And they don't have to be at every ride, just the ones with the biggest complaints about line jumping and/or longest line time, because we all know when the line gets long, line jumping runs rampant. Flight of Fear, Face/Off, Son of Beast, and Tomb Raider would be my choices.
-
I was fortunate enough to actually ride X, and I wasn't impressed. It was too rough for me to enjoy it. Of course, I later found out I sat in the roughest seat (bask seat, on the outside). If only the line wasn't 3 hours, I would've given it a second try in another seat!
-
Exactly. We can't really do anything unless guests come forward and tell us that there was line jumping. We don't know what the people look like, but the people in line do. If you do see anyone line jumping, just tell an employee, and make sure you can point the person out and/or describe the people.
-
Yes, start in Riivertown first and avoid Action Zone until later. I said this earlier even. And our own little "celebrity" of the forums even says in his book to start in Rivertown. I hope you and your family have a great time! And remember, only ride White Water Canyon unless you want to get wet... REALLY wet!
-
The ride is now called Flight of Fear, not Outer Limits. Don't confuse our guests please, we already get enough people who are confused while trying to find Outer Limits, when it tecnically doesn't exist anymore. Also, the line is normally short from 10 to somewhere around 10:45. That's when it begins to get long. Also, at night it is short from about 9 to close.
-
For the younger one, try working his way up to the bigger rides. Try Runaway Reptar first, then Adventure Express, then Racer, then Top Gun. Those are the least intense coasters in the park, so if he can handle those, then he should be able to ride all of the other rides he would be tall enough for (He is too small for Flight of Fear and other big rides though). Also, go to Rivertown first, then Coney, then Action Zone, then Hanna-Barberra land and Nickelodeon Central. The crowd normally starts in AZ, so the trick is starting in the other side of the park and then work your way over there. HBL and NC normally have no crowd at all at night. I hope this is useful to you!

B&M because of two words: Floorless and Flying. I've been on a B&M floorless coaster and I LOVED it, and I've seen pics of B&M flyers, and they looks SO amazing, so I would go with B&M!

One million imaginary StXBomber dollars to whoever can guess what I voted for and why!

Really? Most people hated the OTSRs. I like the new ones better, because it doesn't hurt to ride anymore. I liked riding FoF with the OTSRs, but I LOVE riding it now!

I just had to hear this Yoda chant, and I downloaded the Yoda song, but I can't figure out what chant they are talking about. Can anyone help me to hear this chant?
-
LOL! I really told you to click it one more? Haha, thats great. I normally do that when the bar is high up, because when the train goes through the first inversion, the force normally pushes the bar down even more (at least it happens to me) and I tell guests to click it down more (or do it myself if it is really too high) so it doesn't jam down on them when they go through the inversion. They may think it's stupid, but they will be saying something completely different when the bar clanks down on them hard. The way I see it, better to have the bar pushed slowly down than forced down.
-
OK people, they changed the lighting on FoF, do you like the old way, or the new way better? Some people on this forum are complaining about the new lights, I like them. I want to see what you think!
-
They added more colored lights in the ride area, so you can see more of the supports that look like they are going to hit you. And that thing in the front right seat has always been like that. Jeez, they add a couple lights and people complain when I like it much more now!

Well just call me Mr. Butterfingers! Boy is my face red... I can't believe so many people actually have seen UHF! I have only met one other person thats seen the movie, or even heard of it for that matter! Yes, I missed the concert, but I am hoping he comes to PKI again and has another concert! I want to see him sooooooo badly! (and yes, UHF is the greatest comedy of all time. What can beat Raul's Wild Kingdom?)

I do have a park being made in RCT2, half of the park is recreations from other parks, two of which are from PKI. One is SoB, the other is FoF (under construction). If you want, I can send you the SoB recreation, and then FoF when I am done (I am currently working on the building). EDIT: I now have some pics posted on Yahoo. http://photos.yahoo.com/stxbomber2005 I only have 2 posted now, but I have almost 20 of this, and the other 2 recreations from PKI in the park (SoB and DZ) on my computer, and will post them soon as well.
