Orlando spring break
Reclaimer replied to Reclaimer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Great advice! About the express pass @ Universal. I looked at their website and it appears that the only date they are allowing it that week is March 17, which is when we'd probably be leaving...if not the day before. Looks like that's out. I can't believe they only make those available one or two days out of a week, if at all sometimes. edit: Never mind, I didn't see they had different tiers for different days. Looks like instead of shelling out $50, we'll only have to pay $35. -
I wonder why they're taking their time on this. I mean, if they've planned on moving it...you'd figure they'd be moving a little quicker.

I did notice they finally removed X-Flight from their Roller Coasters page. It was on there for some time after the speculation and article about the removal.

Orlando spring break
Reclaimer replied to Reclaimer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thanks a ton Avatar! I just spoke to a friend of mine and it looks like it'll either just be 2 of us, or a group of 4...depending on if the other 2 guys can make it. My friend that I talked to also has family in Orlando, so it appears as though our lodging will be free. Can't beat that! I may have to check out the Tour Guide Mike site...but will probably wait a month or two before doing so as I've got to make sure we're for sure going. Thanks again for all the info. -
I'm thinking about trying to do a vacation to Orlando over spring break in March and was wondering if anybody had suggestions as to how and where to find good deals for hotels and tickets. I mostly want to check out Universal/IoA, as I've never been to those parks before...though I wouldn't mind checking out Mission: Space, Expedition Everest, and have to go to MGM as well if I can afford it. As you can tell, I'd like to visit a lot of parks in a short amount of time while being cheap as well. If Disney really adds to the cost, I could probably do without...but Universal and such are musts as I've never checked them out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Better stay away from PointBuzz

Nope...I've been following this thread closely. It just seemed as though you were all about making Delirium all 'low capacity' and fighting back every time someone had a differing view. 'Twas all. Not trying to start flaming you or anything...was just questioning your logic.
-
...and that is *exactly* what I said just above your post. Are you really that worked up about making sure Delirium has a "low capacity"?
-
And just what was the longest you've waited for the two? I've been to the park on really busy days with Delirium's queue full and can wait half the time that I would for FoF only using its inside queues. Theoretical capacity is going to always vary from actual capacity...and just as theoretical capacity can (and usually is..keyword usually) higher than what a ride actually achieves...it is possible for the ride to achieve a higher capacity than what the park rates it.
-
But PKIBeast, that's Flight of Fear...We're talking about Delirium.
-
Delirium's got a decently fast line...it's main problem is loading times, but with people kicking you in the shins every step along the way checking restraints, I can see why it'd take a bit longer.
-
I was going to say... When I think capacity nightmares, I think boomerangs. When I think boomerangs, I think Face/Off.
-
Actually, that's not a possibility seeings how they said they're moving it to another Cedar Fair park.
-
Well, if we truly are getting X-Flight, I'd expect we'd be getting an announcement soon now that they've announced X-Flight is leaving GL. (woo! 700)

I almost wonder if the original plans called for a Boomerang Bay theme though, since that's what the parks were moving towards. I mean, it is really easy to just say no to that and keep it Waterworks while giving the guests something new, and saving money by not having to retheme everything. -
Kings Island only is $35

Cedar Fair has announced an all-Ohio parking pass for $75 (Just $5 more than Cedar Point-only parking) Cedar Point is also now offering a deferred season pass offering. Also of note they are using the Paramount Park ordering system. http://www2.paramountparks.com/cedarfair/s...cedar_point.cfm The OnPoint blog on CP's site also states: "This means that you can park at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora, and King’s Island in Cincinnati for the low price of just $75.00. This one-time fee will get you unlimited parking at all three parks here in Ohio. Additional All-Ohio Parking Passes will be available for $25.00 each. Vehicles using additional All-Ohio Parking Passes must be registered to the same household." http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm

No. I "get" that they own Paramount Parks. Why they'd call 5 of their parks "Paramount Parks" and all of their other parks just regular Cedar Fair parks is what I was talking about... and I'm not talking about calling each park 'Paramount's ____" Although I understand what jzarley is talking about. It may be just something they'll disolve eventually or something they're keeping for some tax reason or something. -

Why's the copyright "2006 Paramount Parks" around? -
Yeah, it needs it...and it looks like they're working in a pretty rough spot. It'll be nice to ride it again next year.
-
Foooo'real. Nothing like a little extra fuel for the fire.
-
M'kay, before you come in and 'bust' myths, you might want to read the whole discussion. That's what we're talking about here. We're saying it's probably too late to start moving a X-Flight to KI. What remains to be seen, though, is if it might be an '08 attraction? Or even something in '07 that doesn't open with the park...who knows, it could happen.
-
He said they'd honor the investment (I believe I read that somewhere). Nonetheless, even if he did say they'd honor the actual ride plans, CF has already gone against those plans. They reopened PKD's Flight of Fear, which I believe I read was already partially dismantled and some of it was already at Carowinds. (Not sure if that is true or not)

PKI Earns International Awards!
Reclaimer replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
One could hope. I can't blame them for this year, since they've got some work to do in the parks to Cedar Fair-ize them....but they really shouldn't flat out cancel it. -
PKI Earns International Awards!

Congrats to Kings Island. Notice the award winning performers/performances had something to do with Winterfest? Hint...Hint...Hint, Cedar Fair. The entertainment was there, and it was apparently award-winning. Better execution was all the event needed. Ok, the bitterness really needs to end. I'll work on it, I promise.
