Cedar Fair does use footage from other parks on their commercials. There is a topic on Pointbuzz I read recently about it.
-
Just the park in general. It's not over the top like the commericals we're used to, a la Nick Universe. It's just an exciting commercial promoting the park, if that makes sense.
-
I don't know if they're showing the commercial in the Cincy area, but there's a new PKI commercial in the Indy market. It's still mentioning the park as Paramount's Kings Island, but that is to be expected. The main thing that caught my eye is that it does have a different 'feel' to it. I can't really place it, but you can kind of see a difference between this ad and a Viacom/CBS ad for the park. (Or maybe I'm just crazy!)

Where are the perks? What about free parking for renewals? Looks like Bonfante Gardens is part of the Maxx Plus Pass. Interesting. -
2007 Season Pass Information!

Ya know, I was wondering if they were delaying the announcement chain-wide until CP announced "Maverick" If what Cstrwomann said is true, then my suspicions are correct. -
Cedar Fair has stated they like the parks for their family atmosphere. I don't think they'd change somthing they liked about the chain.

Cedar Points 2007 Project
Reclaimer replied to TOPGUN1993's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Guess we'll find out for sure on September 7th. cedarpoint.com Say hi to Snoopy there on the top banner of the page and you'll see what I mean -
King. Cobra. Is. Not. Coming. Back. Case closed.
-
Thanks Tom. I was wondering about that. Didn't want to say anything to bring it up at first, as I wasn't quite sure....
-
Well then, that makes some sense.
-
If it's like it was earlier in the season, they play Spongebob until 4 and then from 4 until park close they play the HB movie.
-
Ummm...That's the second helix on SoB.
-
Woah.....there's an edit button for a reason.

2007 Season Pass Information!
Reclaimer replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
It's the image for the press release on the PKI.com media center page. Since that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a mock-up from a current design to promote the new type of pass. -
Griffon officially announced
Reclaimer replied to Reclaimer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
They were probably out-bid by Cedar Fair. Nobody in the GP is certain who bid on the parks and what their bids were (except for Cedar Fair, of course). All we know is that is that the parks were a hot item. -
2007 Season Pass Information!

I believe they've always used that "free fearfest" ploy. It's always free with park admission...they're just wording it in a way that 'sells' the passes. -
Here's the thing... If you want to be technical, we are still "Paramount's Kings Island" They have made their intentions clear that they do not wish to make major changes until the off-season. They're calling the park what it is...at least for now. Now, I'm not saying that we are getting rid of the Paramount name. Frankly, I don't have a clue and I'm not going to act like I do. Just keep in mind that until Opening Day '07, we may not know for sure. (Though I'm willing to bet we will know before that) I would like to know what the passes are like, though. I wonder if they'll be any different or if they'll be the same until they make any changes next year. (Kind of like how this year's passes are two different kinds...People who renewed last year still have their photos on their passes while people who got their passes this year do not.)

It's official... ""Griffon will be the tallest dive coaster in the world; the first floorless dive coaster, and the first to incorporate two Immelmann loops (an inverse diving loop named for a WWI German fighter pilot), a second 130-foot dive and a water feature with spectacular viewing platforms where ride watchers can share in the thrills. Each floorless coaster car will consist of three, 10-person wide rows. Griffon offers over-the-edge excitement on more than half a mile of steel track and will become the centerpiece of Busch Gardens’ Europe’s French section." I believe they are planning on doing the Banner in the near future...they haven't started it yet as far as I know.

Did anyone happen to see the pricing structure of the passes on this page? Adult Season Pass: $74.95 Child/Senior: $44.95 Maxx Pass: $124.95 Free parking if renewed by Oct. 29 New passholders season parking $34.95 So, the Maxx Pass sounds like a steal. edit: Okay, who is playing with the censors? edit 2: darnit for being in the wrong topic...sorry fellas and ladies, it's an early morning for the Reclaimer.

Klockster's TRs are perfect!

Link? I looked through their site and couldn't find any mention of a 'Vortex' attraction.
-
What? About how the train got back into the station? I think someone confirmed they ran them both through a complete cycle.

Kings Island Lays Off 15...Restructures
Reclaimer replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
It looks to me that some people are a bit to quick and over-willing to jump on the 'I hate Cedar Fair' bandwagon. Some of those people were the very same ones that were complaining about CBS a few months ago, and Viacom last year. Just goes to show you...some people are never happy and in fact, thrive on being unhappy.
