So do you call your kids by their code-names all the time? ...about your sister getting tired of your comparing the park to Disney, I don't really blame her. Disney's budget is huge compared to a seasonal park like KI's. It's too bad more people don't realize that.

Your computer? In all honesty, it could be one of many different things...what are your system specs?
-
I really don't know...and hate to read too much into it. As the same time, I am inclined to agree. Could it be that they are replacing any seats that need to be replaced with new colors to begin the process of a retheme? If it is, it looks kind of tacky...bright pink and teal seats mixed in every few rows of black seats and yellow and red track.
-
What's up with those pink seats?? I also noticed they had a couple of teal ones, too.
-
Hey, I'm just the messenger...I don't make the maps.

Here ye go: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/1989/pki1989.html That map has all of the spots on it.

True...I can see your point. I still stand by my anti-conspiracy theory remarks though...even if they don't really apply to what you said.
-
Why is everything a conspiracy theory? And I'm not just talking about this conversation by any means... It seems that this whole past year has been conspiracy theories left and right about different things. Yeah, CBS was cheap and this past year under them was less than spectacular. The Paramount years were also not the greatest, but it's not like they had it for the parks and wanted to ruin them...even if it seemed like it.

Wicked Twister, back seat....amazing. That's all I can say

Hm, I recall reading that post too. Guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together to realize they were the same thing.

Looks like Six Flags is offering an "Anniversary Pass" now for certain parks. For the price of a regular one-day ticket, you get a season pass of sorts. It's good for unlimited visits for the rest of the season...but only at the park you purchased the pass for. Details: http://www.sixflags.com/anniversary_pass.asp

Son of Beast To Be Partly Rebuilt
Reclaimer replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
This is interesting news. Thanks for posting this. Will be interesting to see this continue to unfold. -
Ah, come on. It was a joke! I laughed...it was funny. (haha, funny...you know, those types of things) There was no big deal made of the comment. Keeping with the topic...someone recently was escorted out of the park at CP for refusing to take off his glasses to get in line for TTD. He became irate, supposedly, and was acting like a complete fool.
-
Haha...you might want to edit your post to say something along the lines of "Unless you have a strap on them you can wear them." I read your post and my mouth dropped
-
Yup...I'm guessing it's another CF influence. Expect to see more dots 'n' boxes on more rides in the near future. (The best example is at Magnum...they have to stand on little dots almost totally behind a pole and they can probably barely see the train as it passes out of the station!)

I'll quote an email I got from Maureen a week or so ago: "It's hard to say if Cedar Fair will bring it back in the future.....we'll never say never but I would say that it is unlikely!'
-
Uhhhh.... *points to Flight of Fear*
-
I really don't see your reasoning behind griping about the people that ride the train unless they are being rude and disruptive. It's a train...they are meant to transport people and things.

I'm right with ya on that one. Hopefully they can pull this off. Who knows, everyone's favorite park operator (okay, not everyone's!) might be the new Six Flags. We may be laughing at Cedar Fair and their ridiculous earnings reports here in a few years. ...I think they'll pull it off, though. The parks are all really well-established and run and so long as CF takes care of all of their parks and now just Cedar Point, they'll see the returns. These will be an interesting next few years...that's for sure!
-
My point is Six Flags pulled that excuse so often it became funny. Sure, when they used the excuse, it was true...but with Six Flags, weather was the least of their problems causing attendence. That's all I'm saying. Cedar Fair runs quality parks that aren't run into the ground a la Six Flags...when Cedar Fair pulls the weather card, that's probably really the main reason that was causing their issues. That's my point.

I love the fact that the park had the SoB sign closed up before it opened...as if the creature hadn't been released yet, and once it was opened, the box was bashed open. I've always love that and still smile when I walk by it... Although I haven't gotten to the park since the 'incident' so my next trip by the sign might actually bring tears and a frown rather than a smile.
-
Only this was totally true, and expected. Did you see the midwest's weather early this summer? I tried to plan a trip multiple times to CP and each time it got pushed back, back, back, until finally I got a somewhat dry day to go...and even then it rained a little bit in the morning and in the night. There was one point where two weeks straight of forecast data on accuweather showed nothing but rain.

You can be a minor and work under Cedar Fair, at least currently (and at Cedar Point). Merch, I believe allows either 14+ or 15+ ages to work. Otherwise, I can totally believe everything you've stated in that post. While it will be hard to find the staffing, if they can offer the monetary incentive to entice the older crowd to sign on, they may be "good to go"
-
There's an edit button for a reason.

I don't even think you can work as a ride host at Cedar Fair parks until you're 18. (At least, that's how I remember it at Cedar Point. I could be wrong, though.)
