According to some of the folks I know from down there, the park does not stay open because, in the past, then they have on occassion, they lose quite a bit of people. Yes, it would be nice for thrill seekers, but they are a business and need to make money. Seems that they either dont make any, or lose money after 8 or so. Apparently, a lot of folks around there still go home and have family meals. So, despite warmer temps, people just don't stick around.

yes, it's top gun: the jet coaster from Carowinds. Many parks use other parks rides, especially in the same chain, but definitely not limited to. I can't remember where I saw it, but there was a six flags ad that used Vortex in it.

I can tell you for sure that those trailers are indeed used for plush storage. That is all that is in those... I have been in all of them getting prizes for games before. Yes, we do need a lot of trailer space, as well as several buildings to store plush... since we have lots of prizes, some big and some small.

I am not sure if there was a level of sarcasm directed at the person you were quoting, but I will say that I have seen the Cedar Folk on a daily basis and I have spoken with them. They make themselves seen throughout the park... walk around, help guests, speak with associates, clean up trash, etc.... I think they have a done job getting themselves known at their new home.

coaster girl... may I ask the directions mapquest has given you? I have gone down the past 2 years... first time I went, the directions were wrong and had me going no where near carowinds. When I got back, I sent Mapquest and email informing them... this year, got directions again, still wrong... I don't want you having the same problem I did.

yes, combat, there are supervisors who are under the age of 18... When I first started, that was not the case, but the times they are a changing. Anyways, I am not sure exactly how something like this would work out. I mean, no minors would make things more interesting. They're going to have to do a lot of recruiting from around the country. Think Cedar Point with all their college students coming from all over to work. Is it possible we will see associate dorms and apartments going up any time soon? I dread the thought of that. Also, the wardrobe is slowly being changed with the full time staff, next is seasonal operations and area managers I am sure. I expect nice button down shirts and khaki pants would be in order, but I do not know for sure. Time will tell.

while demon drop is cool, it needs to be something cooler than that. How about a rocket coaster that goes up the side and down the other. could start where the international showplace is (of course that would have to go) swing up the side, come down near coney and then return.

It is a new bball 3 pt shot. It will be ready to go sometime soon and will be operational. We are hoping it will be good to go monday, actually. It will not be a 3pt shot that we already have such as Way Down Town or 3pt in Rivertown. It will be a 3pt shot like the pros and college athletes compete in: time limit, racks of balls, bonus ball, etc... If you have been to Cedar Point and I also hear Geagua lake has one, you know what I am talking about. The one at Cedar Point is right by demon drop at the front of the park.

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th will be busy... The fifth will be slightly slower than those previous days, but still pretty busy, and then the 6th, 7th and 8th will be busy again. It's going to be a crowded week next week.

you used to be able to get Scooby or Dora Dollars at the front of the park. They were nice because the park would give you like $25 worth for only $20.

What if you were hired to rename KI rides & shops?
cewldre replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
you are right, it's not an exclusive to the paramount parks. There in a lot of bigger cities, New York, LA... etc... We could keep it, but I do think it would probably cost to do so... well, after the 10 years is up on the contract. -
Nickelodeon Celebration Parade!
cewldre replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I dont think I liked the new "kicking it all over town" dance, but the parade was pretty sweet none the less. -
when I was at CP last, earlier this year, chaos ride was still there...
-
I can assure you that it is not carpet, but astroturf.
-
well I did see some folks over at by Oscars doing last years dance the other day. Was pretty funny to see.
-
I heard them rehearsing a few nights ago... I didn't get to see it. However, I would like to report that I did hear "Kicking it all over town..." so it seems that it will be back, but I have heard it was a new dance. I can report that I also heard the new soundtrack, it is there.

I was just about to point out the same thing... Good call.

I have no doubt that you would think that it was biased. Take a step back and place the article in perspective and it may be much more informative. you didnt read what I had to say at all, did you woofer? All my points were valid. I stated how I felt, as an opinion from myself. I am reading this as a fan of both parks, not as an employee. You need to get to know someone. You have assumed a lot about me and have made some very rude comments. Get over yourself. As far as this article is concerned, as I stated, I feel there is much in here that is misleading, at best. That is my opinion.

I am not positive about the prices, but you have the option of how long you want to rent them for. There are half and full day options, each carrying a different price.

Wow... so am I supposed to believe that article had much, if any, validity? Yes, some of the comparisons were nice, especially since it seemed to be catered toward those from the Cedar Point/ Sandusky area who may have never been down this way. Just wow though. Some of the things it says is just flat out disturbing. Calling The Beast a rickety old ride at the end... Or how they say that the Festhaus is settled nicely in KI's frontier land, and we all know the pioneers loved their beer. I could be wrong, but the actual Oktoberfest theming would suggest German heritage, and Germans indeed do like to drink.... Best part is, Cedar Points "Frontier" area does indeed have places to go in and buy a cold beer. I think this article was just overwhelmingly biased... Oh well.....

well, I also know many of the security that were there, as well as some of the Mason police that were called in, and they told me that it was actually not true... who knows, they may have been trying to save face, but I somehow doubt that.
-
I am a huge fan of The Beast and its Son. Both great rides.
-
the gun at pretty ricky was, from what I heard, actually a rumor... there were other things going on there though.

they may sell some stuff, but a lot of things just get put aside until it is discarded many years down the road.
