    Drop Zone

They were painting today and then ran the ride quite a bit... I dont think they painted the purple segment though :-/. It should be able to operate despite wet or dry paint...
  2. well, I dont know for sure, but this is what I would think... Beast has tunnels, so it's smaller counterpart, Beastie, would have a tunnel too... Then, Fairly Odd Coaster comes and they want to make it slightly less scary (tunnels often scare children...) And I dont think fairies have tunnels...
  3. Yes I know, made a typo you're fine, we were just all confused... it's all good now, since it's there... I voted Beast though.
  4. we still have our FoF... we're not PKD
  5. he can't vote for his favorite, you didnt list it.....
  6. The deal with those events is already done. Whoever takes over the park, CF or otherwise, would probably not make any drastic changes this year. This would mean that Nights of Fire, Fearfest, and Winterfest would most likely go down as planned. Now, next year would be a different story.
  7. I agree with that assessment. Please, relax. We can all bash or praise the sale when it becomes public and not told to us by a "reliable" HR associate at Cedar Point
  8. Ok...I give up. You're right--there would be absolutely no risk if CF were to finance $1B to acquire a company as big as themselves. (After all, these kinds of mergers are always successful...) Doubling your annual revenue completely alleviates any concerns over quadrupling your debt. While CF is at it, they should consider buying Disney and Busch as well...afterall, they are both well-managed, profitable companies, so the cost and effort of acquiring them is a meaningless detail. I wish I could find the link, someone help me out... The parks are worth more than 1B, in fact, KI was estimated to go for around 2-3B alone and 13B for the set of parks... I think CF is going to need more money.
  9. here's what I have heard from a source... The deal is supposed to go something like, starting bids, a little bit of shuffling out not so serious bidders, moree bids, announcement sometime end of June or so. If CF bought the PP it could be a good time. Yes, I know they aren't about theming a lot, but I think they would run with it at those parks, since it's established. I doubt they'd rip out all the theming, well, yet. They could have 2 different stlye parks, family and thrill. Could be a great adventure for them.
  10. Do you work in the construction department or with one of the companies building NU or do you supervise it..........oh wait......dont you work in a games booth. Sorry to be a jerk but no one on here knows if it will be done and no one here has a worthy opinion on if they think it will be dones just because they viewed a ferw pictures or were actually at the site for a bit, simply because they dont have full knowledge of whats being done. The best thing to do is wait for opening day. That was my point, but apparently you didnt see it. I was simply stating, for those people on this site, dont try to say it will or will not be open on the 14th. Wait and see. I said, however, that the park has stood by the fact that it will open on time. That was all I said, so if you think I was implying something else, you're sadly mistaken. And, sorry to throw this at you, but I am not simply a games booth operator... Why not try learning more about me before passing judgement.
  11. I live within in about 5 minutes of the park and do not know of one with in that distance. There may be one slightly farther down the highway, maybe the blue as area, but I am not sure. I wish there was on close...
  12. That's exactly right, which leads me to believe, even worst case scenario, the city would buy the park and keep it running, even if only for fair purposes.
  13. here's the deal, yes if Cedar Fairs bought PKI they would have a monopoly in Ohio, but one must realize that there are several states with only one theme park that remain competitive. I think if Cedar Fairs buys KI they would do a different route. I think they would realize that they have the most unique oppurtunity in the world, a coaster capital. In just a week, people could visit several parks with world class coasters. Prices may go up, but I do not think it would be an outrageous amount. I think a few dollars, maybe 5 or 10. There's also several other options... They could go to SFKK which is close enough to KI that people could go there. I know, it's not a great park anymore, sadly, but it is an alternative, which means there is no monopoly, in my mind.
  14. shadow, the switch was fine, it's already happened. I saw craig leave just last week and saw tim in craigs old office soon after. BTW shadow, I love Trigun. Vash the Stampede is just awesome.
  15. I cannot say with 100% certainty that Nick U will be open on time on April 14th. I can say what the park has said, that Nick U will open on time on April 14th. They have yet to say otherwise. They say they will be done, and until they either prove it or backtrack we should take them on that.
  16. the time frame I heard was July...
  17. No, I mean that in the iTunes Music Store, they spelled it "Cincinnatti." my bad, I didnt even look...
  18. actually, I dont think it really brings money in the way you're thinking, to the park. It's a seperate company, great wolf. They probably pay a set fee of money each month for the lease of the land and that's it. We may get a percentage of the profit, but that's unlikely. I know we don't get the profit to share between the park since they are not working for the park, just leasing our land.
  19. well, skyline is simply the best since I used to go to the original one all the time. Well, they've since moved it across the street to a nicer building. Oh well.... Anyways, the lodge looks sweet. period.
  20. you're exactly right woofer. We have crazy humidity. When I was in Charlotte last year, it wasn't terrible, but there was some humidity. DO be careful in dry heat areas. Sure, we all hate the stickiness of the humidity in Cincy, but it's much easier to become dehydrated and not realize it in an area of dry heat. Be careful.
  21. just because someone put cincy doesn't mean they don't know how to spell cincinnati. It's nothing at all like saying St. Lewis, etc... Cincy is an acceptable shortened form of our cities name. Would you rather have them say Nasty Nati?
  22. I am not sure if it's the exact same, but it did mention like 2 restraunts and a snack bar in the lodge.
  23. exactly, but there's always that slim chance they get it working before. I do mean very slim.
  24. yes, we know he was talking about the buildings skyline and not the chili, but chili is important to us around here so any mention of a skyline always starts a chili debate.
  25. yes, the ride looks really cool. I hope they can truly pull this off. Could really change the industry.
