camden park.. they are still running???

My 2 Cents.. I live in Eastern Kentucky.. about 3 hrs from either SFKK or Kings Island.. I'd rather drive to PKI when given the opportunity.. having been to SFKK I'm not impressed.. I've heard about how rough Son of Beast is.. but my neck was killing me after riding Chang and other coasters at SFKK... no competition.. PKI wins Hands down for my time and money

Cedar Fair that I know of installed two of the Super Swings recently.. the big one at Cedar Point.. I'd say at least one Pre-Paramount will get somethign similiar to those... They did say they'd be addign attractions but nothign Major.. so I see Flat rides in the future

I'm thinking theres more things to worry about than Coke vs. Pepsi

I believe this too.. because "They" more than likely won't be Running KI next year.. after the sell.. the new owners might build a new coaster.. but not the current ones. So technically this is correct

I like the idea of a haunted Mansion like ride.. walk thorugh or ride thorugh.. but it's gotta be good.. gotta be scary.. not hokey maybe something even like Darkastle at Busch Gardens (not rode it but it seems fun)

I agree ... if your planning to travel a long way to KI.. then try to find what the weather is gonna be like that day as best you can.. as for the rides being closed... well.. that's why I'd never go opening day.. I plan to wait til summer when things are in full swing..

I'd love to go but it's 2 1/2 hrs up there and i gotta work til 6 PM.. .. what all will be viewable.. will it be just the IJ:ST or will they go over some of the other rides.. I'd love to take a gander around The Beast.. that trail or wahtever that goes behind it..

Ok.. time to end this... and put the rumors at rest.. Truth is.. Viacom is selling the parks.. but none of the other companies listed are even in negotioations.. actually I'm buying the parks.. I just feel I could run them better than Cedar Fairs, Universal or six flags.. after all Ive been playing ROllercoaster Tycoon very successfully since the very first one came out.. I think I have quite a bit of experiance now.. being a frequent visitor to the forums here i have a pretty good grasp of what everyone wants.. lots of people love coasters.. lots of people love dark rides.. noone wants to see anythign removed.. so.. I pledge to add a rollercoaster and a dark ride both every year.. and bring back all the coasters that have been taken away.. even an updated version of The Bat. if anyone would liek to donate to the cause please send me your money

wasn't complaining.. I just had an idea for a ride and thought i'd share it.. first and foremost.. none of the dark rides that you mentioned are haunted houses.. at least not in the sense of what a haunted house is supposed to be... I mean even Camden park had/has one.. (may not be very good but it's the thought that counts)

OK almost everyone loves a good haunted house/dark ride.. Kings Island has been without one from the beginning.. we get Phantom Theatre that's pretty much it.. the scariest thing that we PKI has got so far is fearfest.. but.. after talk about an Addam's Family themed dark ride.. there are lot's of people who love the idea.. but Addam's family is kinda a family oriented show/movie be more of a comedy/horror ride in teh same vein as Phantom was.. I was recently thinking about some of my favorite movies that Paramount might have made I thought Poltergeist.. but that's MGM, then I remembered a favorite little B-movie of mine.. Waxwork's.. however after a bit of research Vestron/Lions Gate owns it.. so thats out.. but the idea could still be used.. think of it. all your favorite monster's Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolf, all could be found in a wax museum.. so my idea is why not a dark ride modeled after a waxwork Museum where the display's come to life..

I just bought RCT 3 a few nites ago so I've been checking out the boards over at the official website. There's alot of talented people out there doing some amazing things with RCT3.. so far my favorite was a beetlejuice ride someone made.. absolutely stunning. A recreation of KI would be great.. I think I'm gonna work on a camden park scenario.. you have just been hired on as Park Design Manager for Camden Park's new owners.. (fiction of course) your job is a difficult one.. repair everything, clean up the park, and make new atractions to get the guests into teh park in the small amount of space there is.. lol... what? it's a idea.. lol! anyway it's hard to see what yoru park will look like just yet with the screenshots how they are so I won't judge yay or nay. here's a tip I read over there that could help.. I heard that the game handles better when rides are spaced apart better.. if you bunch everything together it seems to get worse FPS, and possibly crash. themeing I don't beleive makes a differance but rides do. everyone seems to be playing it more like the first two and bunching thing stogether to tightly as that was what you had to do in the first 2 games.. therefore it's getting slower fps and crashing.

I've never been on the Eiffel Tower but that looks like too thin of a line to me. It's more likely one of the support cables from The Beast itself..

I just took the survey myself.. my 2 cent's.. I think we'll see spongebob while the money's good... i hate spongebob myself.. I think it's kinda stupid even from a kid's point of view.. sooner or later SPongebob's marketing is going to go flop.. just like Pokemon, and any of these other fads.. Star Trek was a multi-million dollar franchise but what have you seen lately.. ENterrpise?? come on it was canceled.. all things end in time.. SO i see SPongebob while they can take advantage of it.. next possibility.. the rock rollercoaster.. perfect for retheming to FOF.. so i see that as a very good possibility. thought's on Top Gun.. both of these would be awesome but like others ahve said i see this as 2007, I think they will try to go cheap in 2006, saving the construction money for something bigger in 2007.. Both of the ideas they had are awesome.. I'd make a special trip to KI just for those two.. I also see them removing TOp gun and redoing it. the themeing there is too perfect of an opportunity. although the see-saw coaster would be great.. i personally think a launch coaster would be better for top gun since it is supposed to be a aircraft carrier take off.. chain lifts just don't cut it. brings up an interesting question.. has there ever been a suspended coaster with a luanch?

my 2 cents on this subject. Kings Island in 2006... who knows.. we;ll just have to wait and see but if i had a say so in it which I don't. Addams Family ride is defintily my choice. A small coaster, a dark ride.. who cares.. I don't believe KI has ever had a haunted house of sorts.. (There's the Phantom ride sure.. but that was never scary, it was kinda cool though). WHat we need is somethign better than that.. maybe not frightening but at least a bit scarier. something that will make you think twice about even getting on it. Look at what Busch Garden's is doing this year in Williamsburg. That Darkkastle ride is gonna be sweet. KI probaly wouldn't spend that much money on a ride in 2006 though after the Italian Job but we coudl at least get something close. I never read that survey that some people have mentioned.. wish I could.. perhaps if they did something like Blazing Fury from Dollywood. has anyone ever rode that. it's got some neat things going on such as the train and the water splash at the end. Something like this themed to the Addam's Family, a bit longer, a few more thrills.. and maybe a huge drop at the end into a cemetary.. (maybe drop right into a grave) would be neat IMO. a few thoughts on coasters.. I'd like to see one of those new flying coasters like the Borg in Carowinds, or a new suspended coaster not like TOp GUn (Top Gun is nice but over with way to quick and not as exciting as the other Top Gun ride) something more along the lines of T2 in KY Kingdom, just with a much smoother ride. will we get one next year doubtful..but you never know. I'd say we won't see a major new coaster til 2008.. that's just guessing I have no real evidence to support that.. just a theory and opinion. Alos.. maybe if Paramount get's some major bucks from attendance this year and has some great blockbuster movies that top the charts.. maybe we will get a major attraction in 2006.. here's to dreaming. my final thoughts.. the Hyper/Giga.. who cares... ohhh it's so tall.. such a huge drop.. so fast. I could care less.. if i want fast i'll go drive my Camaro.. Vortex and Beast have enough of a drop to thrill. I wouldn't ride it cause it doesn't seem that exciting to me. Give me The Beast anyday, one of my favorite coasters was taken out last year and that's the King Cobra.. the first coaster with a loop I ever rode. fond memories now gone. the last reason we'll probaly never see a hyper or giga coaster at KI.. they don't have the space unless the wind it between other rides. i mean it's possible.. but I think it would be a waste of money IMO..

I have to agree with COld shot.. it's possible someone drowned in the lake before Kings Island ever existed. But i don't know about the hauntings.. true everyone loves a good ghost story. over the past few days I've been investigating the Tower Johnny story it's pretty interesting. so far if i had to believe any of the stories about the hauntings I'd believe the Tower Johnny one and possibly the little girl from the cemetary but i'm a see it to believe it kinda person. I think it would be sweet to work at KI, too bad i never lived closer when i was younger would have been great. about the cables being behind The Beast.. it's possible.. but not likely .. someone mentioned that it would be "Gross" for KI to keep those cables.. maybe so but cost wise.. why get rid of them. clean em off and keep using them is more cost efficent. havign never worked at KI or knwo teh inner workings.. it's possbile this so called shed behind The Beast is just for junk.. in that case the cables could be there.. but it's alot more likely that they are cables from the coasters instead.

I remmember the Demon from when I was alot younger.. I think they took it out to put something else in it's spot. Anyway thought i'd say that yeah it was basic.. but back then.. it was somethign to behold indeed. before all of these hyper coasters and rc's with 7 or more loops etc.. I love coasters and thrill rides but even I won't ride the demon/thunderbolt/whatever it will be next.. simply becaus e i won't ride anything that goes backwards.. (only thing I won't ride is a backwards ride.. makes me sick). My sister rode it then though when it was the demon. I've not been to Kings Island in years and I do so miss it. I'm nostalgic these days.. and love pictures and such of the old KI that I grew up with going every year with my cousins and family. I think my mom even has some old pictures from those days.. I think i was like 8-10 I'm 29 now so thats about 20 years back of pics.
