I asked her this past Sunday if Diamondback was her favorite coaster. She said yes. She was also proud of her ACE membership. I'm confused. She told me that Millie was her favorite coaster. Unless you mean her favorite coaster at KI? She told me that last week. I will ask her again this weekend.

Green is tracks the best by far thus smoother and faster than others.

One of the first guy who rode Disaster Transport said to Dick Kinzel said, "It was a disaster." It was not a favorable statement.

DB > Magnum >> MF I rode MF four weeks ago and was quite disappointed. I thought the ride was rather tame. I still like the first drop, but the rest of the ride was not as good as I remembered. Maybe, DB air time spoiled me. MF was my third favorite steel coaster before this year. (DB and Bizzaro rank ahead for me.) Magnum was quite good as always. Magnum was my favorite coaster from 1989 to 2006. Magnum is my favorite at CP. I have been on Magnum over 1000 times, over 500 on MF and over 200 DB. I have been on every row of seats on all these coasters. I prefer 6-2 on Magnum and the last row on both MF and DB. See my signature for the steel coaster ranking. I guess I like B&M coasters.

After my son and I rode with her 7 times yesterday, we rode again with her this morning. She was up to 515 when we left. I hit my 200 and my son hit 150. She was riding right behind us on 12. Darlene and other ride ops gave me high fives.

The best floaing air is the row 15 and 16. The best ejection air is 1 and 2. For some reason, 13 and 15 seems the smoothest. The odd rows are smoother than the even ones. The Green train is the fastest and smoothest. The Red train shakes the most. My preference is 16 on green train on the left side.

I rode with Darlene on her 500th. Don Helbig took a sign of her #500 and took a picture. The sign is being displayed on the window of a control room. That ride was my 193rd. I got to 202 today. A long way to go!!!

It was not the tallest. The first coaster to break 100 feet was Serpent of Fire in Mexico in 1964.

I rode the Bizzaro for the first time. It was an amazing coaster. The air time and the lateral were much, much better than Millennium Force although the trains were quite similar. I find it hard to believe that the ride was better. I rode 10 times including once on a front and 5 times in the back. (I prefer back.) The ride was much more dynamic than Diamondback although Diamondback had much more air time. I will be at CW this July. I will ride Behemoth. There are a few people like Diamondback better and some like Behemoth better. I will finally get to ride that. The train modification was done possibly due to an accident a few years ago. From what I heard, the ride itself was not modified.

129 as of 6/12/09. I am planning to add a few more by 6/13/09 before my trips to So Cal. For those who have been on Goliath at Canada Wonderland, how does Diamondback compare to Goliath? Also, does anyone prefer Superman/Bizzaro at SFNE over Diamondback?

I rode Diamondback twice. I still am evaluating the ride. Therefore, I will not put this ride on top stop yet. I will put this somewhere in top 5 though. 1. Voayage 2. Magnum XL-200 3. Renegade 4. X (I was somewhat disappointed with X2.) 5. Millennium Force and T-Express Frankly, I think Diamondback has much more air time than MF which is a big plus for me.

How long did you wait for your first ride on Diamondback?
Rustbucket replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I was an auction winner also. My numbers were 180 and 181. We got to ride it twice before 9 am. We left shortly after that. -
Diamondback First Thoughts and Impressions?!
Rustbucket replied to tigellinus's topic in Kings Island
I was with Auction group. By 9:30 am, the wait was all around the Chick Fil A toward La Rosa and toward the train station. The guides told me the wait was 5+ hours. I rode it twice: once on 2-1 and 8-1. Without a doubt, Diamondback is the smoothest ride I have ever been on. The lift: I really though the lift hill felt like MF at Cedar Point. My daughter said the same thing when I was thinking that. First drop: Again, similar to MF with soft floater air. Second hill: This was the insane air hill. This hill had more air time than the third Magnum, the second Voyage, or the third Wild Thing (VF) hills. This was more than a soft floater but definitely not an ejection (My definition of ejection would be Maverick first hill or bunny hills on Magnum). Third hill: Another great air time hill. This is comparable to the second Voayge hill. A soft floater. Hammer head: This element surprised me. I thought there was going to be more lateral. Fourth hill: Very nice floater Turn around helix: Nice lateral to MCBR. MCBR drop: This was closest to ejector air time. Somewhat similar to Voyage MCBR or Ghostrider MCBR hill. Two bunny hills: Again great air time hills. This was very similar to Apollo's Chariot return hills. Turn around Helix: Not very forceful but good lateral. Somewhat similar to Raging Bull final Helix. Drop and splash down: I thought this was quite spectacular. Great air time going into the pond. Another floater coming into the brake run. I am still deciding if Diamondback is up there with Voyage, Magnum, Renegade, or MF. There is no doubt that DB has more air than MF or Renegade. Based on that, this ride ranks higher than MF. This ride ranks right up there with my top five. I will ride some more before comparing to Voyage or Magnum. -
I will leave around 6:30 am. I hope to be there by 6:45 am.
-
I will be there with my son for Diamondback first ride and Gold pass ride hour.

I am 184 and 185. I got an email notification to show up at KI by 7 AM. BTW, some of the workers got to ride this. Some were getting off crying. I cannot wait!

Who's bidding on the first seats on Diamondback?
Rustbucket replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Yes. I usually have considerable deductions. I thought most of these auctions are tax deductable. If so, I will bid more. -

I just bid $75 per seat for 4. BTW, are these tax deductable? Just wondering.
