Why do people continuously insist moving a ride like this? It will cost the company millions to move these types of rides. I can see now: the new improvement for KI in 2008 - Relocation of Congo Falls to BB instead of adding a new attraction. I am sure everyone will be happy with this investment.

Exactly. I couldn't even find the kiddie area. There was one near the lake next to Serial Thriller (Thunderhawk). This area was below the main walk area.

That was the original train. If you notice the station, there still are four gates followed by a space. The middle 3 cars, there are arrows pointing toward the seats. They never changed the station when they changed the trains.

Actually, the highest revenue park for CF is Knott's Berry Farm. I am not debating about Cedar Point. Actually, KBF and Canada Wonderland are the parks with highest attendance for CF, right? KBF Wonderland CP KI KD Carowinds Great America VF DP WoF GL MiA I think this was the order based on attendance.

Can you ride at CP?
Rustbucket replied to Miss Hysteria's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
No problem for me. I am supposed to be "big" in countries other than US. I am 172 cm and 90 kg with very large body and muscluar frame. I am not fat by any means though. I have no problem with MF or TTD. -
Geauga Lake Petition
Rustbucket replied to ClevelandRocks10's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I signed the petition. I lived about 15 minutes from GL and Sea World and had season passes. BTW, Aurora and the surrounding area are high income area. CF will get pretty good money out of the deal. Frankly, Paramount looks to be the smartest people. I said GL was doomed when CF bought the park. I also said CF buying PP is a mistake. People just do not learn from history. Just look at CF. It is fine to buy others to expad when the times are good, but there always will be a time when the bear market hits. Many companies have made this same mistake. SF sure knew what they were doing in 2004. And yes. SF now seems to have turned the corner. CF is just heading toward where SF was three years ago. -
I still think you are too high!

Ride like to Behemoth coming to KI?
Rustbucket replied to DropZone99's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Like.... Workers striking to put the company out of business? Sorry, I am very mad about GL. I was planning on going there the last day but my daughter was not feeling well after 5 hours at CP. Big Dipper is (still present tense) my second favorite wooden coaster in OH. My third is SBNO. -
I could not "rip" the cord at Carowinds during my August visit. Maybe, I am out of practice. Phantom Flyers - It will always be Flying Eagles to me.

Super Saturator at Carowinds To Go Dry
Rustbucket replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I am glad that I was able to ride this last month. I heard a rumor that this was going to close. Is this a same ride as Roller Soaker at Hershey? -
My family has had season passes for the past 5 years. Frankly, paying $75 for a person for year long parking, KI and Boomerang Bay has been quite worth the money. I used to get Cedar Fair pass AND Paramount passes but I just got a MAXX pass instead this year. Can they improve some of the perks that Gold pass benefits? Yes. However, no one will convince me that Cedar Fair and Paramount passes were not worth the money I spent. Talking about the Gold Pass perks, has anyone tried early ride days? How about the food discounts you get with Gold Passes. Getting into BB is also nice as well as being able to get in early. In some other parks such as Carowinds and Kings Dominion, you can get into the park early so you can get to ride some of the rides first. These benefits are more than what I paid for the Gold or MAXX passes. I will not complain because of waiting on lines just like everyone else.

Flying Eagle would be good. I rode Phantom Flyer last week at Carowinds but I could not "rip" the cord. Maybe, I am out of practice.
-
That would be a horrible addition. Not that this will ever happen.
-
I will try to make it.

Iron Dragon to me is the worst of the 4 suspended coasters I have been on. Top Gun, overall, is the best one I have been on. Big Bad Wolf had the best drop. Ninja was more intense than Iron Dragon. Also, my favorite B&M Invert is Alpengeist followed by Talon, Montu, Silver Bullet, Raptor, Great Bear and 3 Batmans. I have not been on Top Gun at Carowinds. I will be there next month.

Valleyfair! 6/25/07 (It was hot!) I had about four hours of free time at Minneapolis on 6/25/07 so that I decided to check out Valleyfair! and Renegade. This was my first visit to the park but have heard a lot about Renegade. Being a wooden coaster fan, I was looking forward to this newest coaster from GCI although I have not been impressed with Gwazi or Wildcat at Hershey. I did like Lightning Racer, however. Since Renegade was located near the back of the park, I wanted to hit the coasters along the way to Renegade. First up was High Roller. High Roller (#139) – The wait was about 10 minutes for this one train operation. I got on 4:2. There were 4 cars. This was a decent out and back coaster with surprising amount of airtime. The second hill was rather slow, but the ride was relatively smooth. (6/10) Mad Mouse (#140) – The wait was about 10 minutes. These wild mouse types of rides always have some waits. The one felt almost exactly like the one at Michigan’s Adventure which I rode last week although the one at MiA was taller. (5/10) Renegade (#141) – This coaster was the reason I came here. The ride did not disappoint me. After 15 minutes wait, I got on next to the last seat. These GCI trains felt much more comfortable than PTC trains. The first drop was a slightly twisting but with quite a bit of airtime. The turn around was banked and twisted as well. The airtime throughout the ride was amazing even though there was not a single straight drop. Somehow, all the hills were twisting drops with amazing amount of airtime. Quite frankly, this ride reminded me of the second half of Voyage with more airtime and lateral. The ride was incredibly smooth for a wooden coaster. However, I will still rate Voyage ahead of Renegade and Ghostrider due to shear force and speed. This ride definitely ranks up there in my top five and the second place on my wooden coaster list. (10/10) I rode this twice and came back to ride 6 more times later, all in the back seat. Yes, I am a back seat rider. The ride broke down and I had to go to a dinner meeting. Wild Thing (#142) – This was a Morgan Hyper coaster. Except for the colors, the ride looked and felt so much like Steel Force at Dorney Park. (I wonder why?) I LOVE these hypers! As usual, I rode 6:2. The second hill airtime was comparable to Magnum third hill (about 4 seconds of floater). The turn around of this ride was quite different from Magnum (Pretzel) and Steel Force (Double Helix) and was much longer. The bunny hills on the way back had some floaters. I still love all those ejector airtime on Magnum better. (9/10) I rode this three times before heading toward Xtreme Swings. Xtreme Swings – Skyhawk revisited. I love these rides but they are too short. (8/10) Corkscrew (#143) – These Arrow loopers are not really my favorites but decided to give it a go. Again, I took the last seat. This is longer than Corkscrew at Cedar Point with extra helix at the end. The ride had on-ride video camera. (5/10) Excalibur (#144) – This coaster reminded me of a cross between Gemini and Magnum at Cedar Point. I guess this really was. The train, lift hill sound, and the lap bar reminded me of Magnum. The ride was no where close to Magnum, however. The ride resembled Adventure Express at Kings Island. This was not a memorable coaster. (5/10) Steel Venom (#145) – This cookie cutter inverted shuttle was exactly what I expected. Superman (SFGAm) and Steel Venom (GL) were what I expected. That was what I got. I like them any way. (7/10) I was not sure if the park was not very busy due to extreme heat. Frankly, eight Renegade ride was worth the trip even though only thing I paid was $9 for parking. I highly recommend Renegade to everyone. This coaster is now #3 is on my list of favorites. 1. Voyage 2. Magnum XL-200 3. Renegade 4. Ghostrider 5. X

Both trains were runnin on Sunday.

Only time I got more thrill was the roll back I had two years ago. Unfortunately, TTD does not hold thrill for long.
-
What do you predict Kings Island's 08 attraction will be?
Rustbucket replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Only if KI still had Flying Eagle ...... -
TTD had about 15 minutes wait except both times I was near the ride, it was down. Raptor was a walk on as well. I think that Maverick tied up quite a few people.
-
I can't wait to ride Thunderhawk. How many shirts are they giving out? Wait a minute, it's be there since 1923. That ride was disappointing. I was expecting Big Dipper type of a ride.
-
I actually had two walk ons for MF.
-
One train. I waited about 5 minutes for one ride.

As I need to be in Detroit for a business meeting on Friday, I headed up to Cedar Point for a little R&R. I got to the park at 1:30 pm. It was not a busy day by any means. The Maxx pass entry was different from last year. I had Knotts Berry Farm pass for the past four years and went through Guess Relations building. This year they put a stamp on my arm and told me to go through the re-entry gate. I went straight toward MF as I usually do. I waited about 10 minutes for my first ride on the back seat of the Blue Train. The ride was fatastic as usual. MF is my third favorite steel coaster after Magnum and X. After the ride, I headed toward Maverick. The ride was closed!@##@! There were quite a few people waiting for the ride, however. (Since I waited almost 4 hours for Firehawk on Saturday, I did not want to wait for this one.) I walked toward Magnum. It was closed as well! I walked toward MF again. For the next 100 minutes, I rode MF 9 times for the total of 10. While riding MF, I noticed that Maverick was running so that I went over to Maverick again. The sign by the gate showed 1 1/2 hour wait. At this time, I wanted to ride this so I got on line. After about 20 minutes, the ride broke down. The ride was down for about 35 minutes but I waited on. During this time, more than 1/2 of the people in the queue left. By the time I got to the ride, the total wait was around 1 hour. I guess the wait was shorter because the ride broke down. I got on 2:1. As for the ride, the first launch was somewhat slow. This launch was slightly faster than the second launch of Italian Jobs. The first drop was quite good. 95 degree drop was somewhat unexpected. The barrel role and twists felt more like Storm Runner at Hershey Park but at a faster speed. The train slowed down to almost complete stop under the station before the second launch. This launch was as fast as IJST first launch. The twists and turns were more intense than the first half even though the tracks were not very high throughout the second half of the ride. I thought the ride was quite intense but I still think Fight of Fear is a better ride (before the mid course brake was turned on so high). Firehawk is also a better ride. Of course, this is my opinion. After the ride, I headed over to Magnum and rode on 6:1. I still love this ride even though Voyage has displaced Magnum as my favorite roller coaster. I exited the park around 5:45. I spend 4 hours and 15 minutes at the park and had 10 MF, 1 Magnum and 1 Maverick ride. Not bad! I will return here whenever possible (6 times last year). CP is still my favorite place to spend my time. How I wish KI has Magnum, MF or Raptor!

Was the non-compete with CP or SFKK? With Chang, SFKK may have had this agreement.
