  1. Flying Eagle I have been getting a few rides on Phantom Flyers at Carowinds last two years. I rode it around 30 times. They actually encourage you to "rip" them since they are harder to do so than Flying Eagle. I believe they changed the motor when they moved it down to Carowinds.
  2. I have both 08 and 09 CF Platinum pass. You get one free visit for 08 when you buy 09 pass.
  3. Sundays in October is very good days to go. If you can get there by 11 am when they open, you should be able to get all the coaster rides in by 1 pm. My children and I have been going to KI on Sunday mornings for the past 4 years. Only time they are truly busy is the last Sunday of the operating year.
  4. I have been on both. The stand ups are my least favorite coasters although I try to ride them at least once. The only stand up I rode more than once and enjoyed is Riddler's Revenge. Georgia Scorcher is a decent stand up. The last stand up I rode was Vortex at Carowinds in 2007. Mantis was not very enjoyable for me anyway. I rode Mantis only twice. King Cobra was better. I think Shockwave was much better when I rode that in 1991. I think Shockwave is better than King Cobra. I rode King Cobra in 1991 also.
  5. The height requirement was 54" for 2000 and 2001 for MF. I was not there in 2002. When I visited in 2003, it was 48". I believe the seat belt was shortened after the accident on SRoS at SFNE in 2004.
  6. SFGAm is one of very few parks that have a great wooden coaster and a hyper coaster. Do not forget to ride Viper and Raging Bull. Superman the Ultimate Flight is a nice one, too. Do they still run American Eagle backwards?
  7. My second favorite coaster is Magnum XL200. I have been on 177 coasters to date including MF, AC, and Raging Bull, and Goliath. Please do not tell people that height is what matters the most. Frankly, I would rather ride Boulder Dash, Ghostrider, and Renegade than Son of Beast any day even though these coasters are 1/2 of SoB's height. I would be very, very happy if Diamondback is as good as Magnum. If some of the drawings accurately translate into the ride itself (I do not see why not), Diamondback should have more air time than Magnum. Of all coasters I have ridden, Magnum still gives me the most airtime. If this is a punch in my face, I would love to have many more. I do not have the links but people were saying why CF is building such a non-descript ride. Many people thought Maverick will be a "filler" coaster until next big thing. Although I am not a great fan of Maverick, I still rate this coaster 11th favorite steel coaster and 21st overall (out of 177).
  8. I really, really liked Voyage. Some people actually say that Voyage is little too intense. Intamin woodies like T-Express and El Toro are much smoother rides. In my trip report, I thought T-Express may have been TOO SMOOTH for wooden coaster although I loved the airtime. I did not think Raven was as good as it was hyped. I rode that coaster 10 times. From CCI built rides, I prefer Balder Dash, SHivering Timbers and Ghostrider. Legend was not really a enjoyable ride. If anyone has a chance to go to Korea, T-Express and Eagle Fortress are quite a treat. I never thought that suspended coaster (Eagle Fortress) can be that intense. No other suspended coaster ever came remotely close to that.
  9. I rode T-Express which actually has steeper drop than El Toro. T- Express is very similar to El Toro but longer. Voyage has almost out of control feeling. I am a junky for lateral which Voayge gives you a lot more. I prefer Voyage by long shot. I just rode Balder Dash past week. I really was impressed by the ride. My favorite steel coaster still is Magnum XL-200. One of my LEAST favorite coaster is Georgia Cyclone (sorry Terpy). My top 10 coaster lists 1 Voyage 2 Magnum XL200 3 Renegade 4 T-Express 5 Balder Dash 6 Ghostrider 7 X 8 Millenium Force 9 The Beast 10 Raging Bull
  10. I am there between 10am and 1 pm on Sundays. The park is usually quite empty. It does get very busy after 1 pm, however. I may see you. I am there with my son mostly. Sometimes, my daughter tags along. We ride The Racer, Flight Deck and The Beast.
  11. http://www.rcdb.com/ir.htm?model=119 The last B&M was Georgia Scorcher. Out of all the coaster types, I like these the least.
  12. Interesting. Those are my two favorite B&M inverts!
  13. I agree. Talon is my second favorite invert after Alpengeist. The ride is intense and relentless. I agree with many who said that B&M invert is missing at KI although they are still building these inverts. Just look at Patriot and Silver Bullet. They were recently installed at CF parks.
  14. I was there on Sunday with my sun who cannot ride these except for The Beast. We rode 5 Racer, Scrambler, Zephyr, 4 BLSC, 4 Beast, and the train before 12 PM. There were two guys who came down from northern Ohio who said they got 4 rides in on Saturday. They were in the park from 1 pm to 9 pm.
  15. I was there on Tuesday (7/15/08). The park was relatively busy. There were some security vehicles around the parking lot although none was moving around. The safest part of the parking lot appeared to be the season pass parking area with a person checking the pass for the lot.
  16. I will also add Drop Zone at KI and KD as well as Delirium at KI. Even Stealth was a major investment. They may not have been groundbreaking rides but took those rides to new heights. Literally. I cannot believe that people are saying FoF is a small investment. Also, there is a third clone. http://www.rcdb.com/id528.htm
  17. I will never go to a Six Flags Park again because i'm afraid i might dget my leg cut off on a drop ride or get decapitated by a rollercoaster or die or be seriously injured in any other way......sound framiliar to anyone? I am not sure what "framiliar" or "dget" is. Any other way... Hmmm. Do you mean by going to the park by car? This is by far the most dangerous of the activities you listed.
  18. Actually, Wicked Twister never completely runs its course............ I just had to also.
  19. Agreed. GL was nice family park that people went to relax and had picnics. I lived about 15 minutes away from GL during SF purchase of GL and unrealistic expansion. Sure, I liked the coasters they installed there such as X-Flight and Batman Knight Flight, but Sea World pulling out was a sure sign that there was a trouble ahead for them. I am still not sure if CF bought GL to make sure no one can compete with CP or to save the park. I still insist it was the former considering 5 coasters they moved to other parks can be sold to people as NEW rides. The way CF auctioned off was also somewhat strange as well. They insisted that some of the rides not to be reinstalled in other amusement parks.
  20. Actually, my two favorite steel coasters are from Arrow Dynamics. Here are my top ten list. 1 Voyage 2 Magnum XL200 3 Renegade 4 T-Express 5 Ghostrider 6 X 7 Millenium Force 8 The Beast 9 Raging Bull 10 Talon Obviously, I am a wooden coaster fan.
  21. My first coaster was "Dragon Train" in Seoul, Korea. This was the first coater ever built in Korea.
  22. One of my buddy asked me if KI had an 80's style arcade with 80's games. For the life of me, I cannot remember. Can some one tell me if KI has one? I know that CP has one near Blue Streak. Thanks.
  23. You do realize paying taxes has nothing to do with being citizens of the US, right? No one can be THAT stupid.
