  1. Looks to be hair raising and defiantly an announcement for night owls
  2. I feel like this topic should come with its own fanny pack and gravy buffet...
  3. Wish Clifford was around, then we could talk about something.
  4. Round and Round we go where it stops nobody knows Enjoy the ride Hold on tight No end to speculation in sight...
  5. Cranes or Towers of Trailers. I'm fine with either.
  6. Im going to skip that ride of death, just like I skip Mantis anymore. I remember when CP had fallout from the riding position and the issues it caused between them and B&M. No more Mantis for me.
  7. Does the wheel need reinvention or endless speculation?
  8. If only there were cranes instead of crows and an owl... Hmmm how fowl.
  9. Folks have very fond memories of Winterfest at Ki, but what is forgotten is how winter weather greatly effects the crowds, how cold it is walking around the park that time of year and the cost of running such an event. Sorry folks but after the last effort fizzled out I just don't see Winterfest coming back to Ki. The more southern parks Im unsure of, Carowinds would be the only one I would consider as a possibility and then they are competing with Dolly for winter weekend festivities.
  10. Boblo Island, what an odd little park in between Detroit and Ontario.
  11. Well done Jackson, this is what I was starting to see but am not good with paint or photo editing nor do I think I would have connected them as well. Nice job. I think the triangular footings are going to be a center hub with supports branching out to support a helix type element. Tatsu anyone
  12. Not saying it is an invert or it isn't, but the placement and type of footing has changed on inverts over the year. Compare Raptor with some of the newer versions. The parallel footings is mainly used for the lift hill and station tracking.
  13. Just a few thoughts on the plethora of footings that have shown up in a very compact space so far. Since construction started so early I tend to believe this is a larger scale project and not something the size of Stunt Track. The rectangular footings and triangular are signs of elements because of their size they will have supports that are carrying greater forces and these forces are probably due to some type of element, whether helixes/spirals, or something else. As the lift hill develops the type of coaster will become more clear, if we see parallel footings then it is most likely an inverted, but if its a single line of footings then look for a more traditional sit-down. I find this picture of Patriot interesting, the use of large rectangular and smaller footings in close proximity of one another. I am not saying
  14. Love the Demon rendition, but I am afraid enthusiasts will refuse to climb stairs unless there is a buffet at the top.
  15. I remember when camping was allowed. I also remember when the area was a "Black Forest" of sorts. Even a "Bolt" in a different locale. Oh the many things that have occupied that space...
  16. And the tower was removed from the construction site because of the illegal importation of Mountain Dew within the Kings Island gates. As we all know KI is a Coke park.
  17. Is it time to move back in? Things may have gotten a bit out of control with the trailer tower...
  18. God Bless him and his family. Wish I had known him outside of these boards.
  19. 4680 Beast Recycler http://www.youtube.com/embed/Aw3LEuik6Y0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> I think this was built for this job and the name is perfect.
  20. For simplistic and quickest travel and since you are I resort guest use your own car. It is quicker and less hassle in my opinion than Disney transportation. My upcoming trip in September we will use our own car every trip. Also to get an idea of touring plans on how to tackle each park I would browse through the easywdw site. Just so you know some of the dinning places you suggested are very expensive if you are not on the dinning plan. Thinking of your friend. My family of 3 last year left Cali Grill with a bill around $250, but thankfully for the dinning plan we paid nothing but tip.
  21. I have learned most of my Disney tips from the master (Avatar), but have developed some on my own. TourGuideMike is an ok site, but he is slow to update and is rarely on the site. I think it has been since May. The forums are very helpful though. Also consider the undercover tourist website and touringplans website for info on how to tour the parks and least crowded days. A green day is a huge difference than a red day. EMH (Extra Magic Hours) days can be very busy because you have the few thousand extra resort guests taking advantage of those hours that may have not visited that park that day without them. I tend to avoid parks during EMH mornings or evenings. Once again here is where the least crowded park charts comes in handy. Disney park transportation is nice, but I always have my own vehicle and avoid it for the most part. Here is why. The Disney value resorts will have a few bus stops at the resort and usually one bus route will service a couple value resorts and the park. So there is not always a guarantee of direct service to the park, but you may make multiple stops before reaching the park. My strategy has always been rope drop at the park, drive myself. Car is parked at the front of the lot. Take the bus back to my resort for our afternoon break and then bus back to park. When we leave the park in the evening the car is waiting for us at the front of the parking lot and we not waiting in the huge line for the bus. Also your own car is very helpful in getting to other resorts for dinning like Jiko or Cali Grill. (Hope you got a Cali Grill ADR for a night that Wishes is going on, best seat in the Kingdom) I could go on and on with Disney info, PM if you have more specific questions. Have fun.
