  1. Well I think the writing is on the wall for Six, but Cedar Fair on the other hand is still doing fairly well with the debt load they have. From the reports throughout the year, attendance and revenue are up this year, which is huge for the kind of economic times we face. I have faith that Cedar Fair will be just fine and come through the acquisition stronger than before.
  2. Well Mr. Gates is going to loose quite a hefty sum on Six, when this whole thing finaly goes under.
  3. You know Great Adventure would make a nice addition to the CF family, when Six goes under or bankrupt. I would imagine they would protect that property at all costs
  4. Well once we drop this around December there will be rumors of Vortex not coming back soon. There will also be some rumors about SoB and its possible demise and Im sure there will also be some rumors about the demise of Nick U, although there might be some validity there. Trust me just have fun with it and laugh at the folks that believe it.
  5. Ok Rail Rider theres a point when rumors die..... Well its not a rumor, its fact... Seriously I thought you were better than most picking up on sarcasim. Yes I know there is a point rumor's must die, but this rumor and The Vortex rumor show up every year as we get close to the off seasson. So it should die, but it wont. Im just doing my part to make fun of it in my own way. In regards to to how much it would cost to paint Flight Deck. Well I recently looked at having the rooms of the home I just sold in Springboro painted. I was quoted $1-$2 a sq. ft. and that didn't include supplies!!! So if your looking at a 1500 sq ft house that would be $1500 to $3000 in labor alone? I think you will agree it is a lot less labor intensive to paint a house than a coaster, so dont count on that new paint scheme any time soon.
  6. Why paint it, when its going to be removed in the next few years...
  7. Well then they should do a 10:1, atleast that way they can stay opperational for a little longer
  8. Wait the Dipn Dots Guy was not telling the truth??? RailRider not knowing when to turn it off
  9. Dany Snyder and Six Flags were warned today that Six stock is on the verge of being delisted. Even with the current proposed stock split, that would only double the value of Six stock. Taking it from $.40 to $.80, still not meeting the $1.00 threshold that the market requires. Another interesting aspect of this story is the amount of money that Bill Gates has invested in Six and has lost because of the poor stock performance. Just a mere, $117,728,218, just a drop in the bucket. Bankruptcy cannot be too far away... SixFlags, Shape up or Ship Out
  10. Well there are many sounds that I enjoy and love at amusement parks, but the sound of the Carousel is truely my favorite. I will take a classic Carousel with organ any day of the week. I think that sound can put a smile on anyones face. Also a close second for sound, but not located in an amusement park is the calliope on the Belle of Louisville. I know completely off topic, but if you are ever in Louisville and have some time to spend, take a ride on the Belle, truly will never forget the experience...
  11. No not like Ricochet, the Yo-Yo is some what like a waveswinger.
  12. Chance Recalls Yo-Yo Ride Sounds like its an issue across the board for park and trailer models...
  13. Wow surprised you feel that way about Wildcat. I find the entire coaster to be very thrilling and the first drop is a very nice curved drop. No it is nowhere near the drop ThunderHead has, but still its a great example IMO. Regarding Roar, I agree somewhat its not the best first drop, but the overall coaster is very enjoyable. If you cant tell I am a huge woodie twister fan and always a sucker for a good figure 8 layout Maybe I shoud have used the Ozark Wildcat or even the Kentucky Rumbler as better examples of what I like in a first drop on a wooden coaster. I had plans on experiencing El Toro very soon after it opened, but life happend. I will make my trip there hopefully next seasson...
  14. Picture I took of Griffon hitting the splash, now can you imagine this as Diamondback? What a sight it will be...
  15. Looks like we both have the same source Did I mention Magnum will soon be facing the same fate as well.
  16. What will I do all day with very little to nothing to watch on the webcam. Does this mean I need to work???
  17. They can't, the reverse stock split is just trying to prolong the inevitable.
  18. First Whopper Bar Burger King will introduce the first Whopper Bar at Universal Orlando's Citywalk next year. Very interesting concept I must say
  19. $2, dont hold your breath... I am affraid $2 gas is a thing of the past.
  20. Wait if that was the 5th busiest day is it not possible the machines were refilled the morning of and by the time you made your way there, they were empty again? So really how do you know they went unfilled?
  21. Dorney Park, Pushes to Streamline Approval Process Dorney Park has approached they township in which they reside to streamline the approval process so that rides can be developed and installed in a more timely manner, without tipping off the regional competition as to their plans... Makes sense to me, but local governments can be a nightmare to work with...
  22. Well the cam shows a truck behind the crypt that is now empty. They may have been delivered to the hammerhead.
  23. Michigans Adventure Reports Record Attendance Looks like Cedar Fair may have a great year, with what has been released already in confrence calls and now the local media reporting that Michigans Adventure is reporting record attendance and revenue. Good news for the industry.
