  1. I'm heading out to KI tomorrow morning, I hope it doesn't rain a lot. The park closes at 8 or 9, which sucks already, I just hope the rain doesn't add to the suckage. It's about a 3 hr drive for me. Wish me luck! I'm bringing my camera, I'll try and take any shots of The Italian Job that I can.
  2. I went to Fear Fest last year. It was the most crowded I've ever seen the park. I'll not do it this year.
  3. I remember going to the park when they had entertainment like that. It's sorely missed and KI should bring much of it back IMHO.
  4. I was at FearFest last year. The lines were HORRIBLE for anything related to FearFest. The rest of the park was a breeze, rode The Beast about 20 times.
  5. yeah, I got a Team Member Son of Beast White Polo shirt off Ebay a few weeks ago for 12 bucks. It's very nice, and I feel so "official" while wearing it.
  6. Name-Schmame.. It's still Kings Island. It's still got The Beast
  7. This guy says he rode an Aerosmith ride at Kings Island. I've been going to KI for years and have never seen it, have you?
  8. Take a look here and you can see exactly where both the spinnin keggers and the ferris wheel were. This photo is from 1983.
  9. I rode The Bat back in 1982 and I don't think I'm dead. I think. Oh, I've got a bunch of Bat photos here if you're interested.
  10. These are from my personal collection, taken in 1983. I've posted them here. In these rare photos you can see some rides from days gone by like the giant slide they used to have, as well as Der Spinnin Keggers! The photos are not the best quality in the world, but they're over 20 years old and taken with a crappy instamatic I'm sure.. When I was a kid, we didn't have these fancy-schmancy digital cameras like you whippersnappers of today! In fact, we had to develop the photos ourselves, only after walking to the drugstore, barefoot, over broken glass, to get the developing solution. Oh, did I mention we had to fend off Indians and wild bears too! You kids got it so easy today. Make sure to check out the DOOMED! the Movie site as well while you're there.
  11. plenty of tickets available on Ebay
  12. I put some new ones up of the King Kobra and The Bat today. If you have OLD Kings Island photos, please contact me. http://www.doomedthemovie.com/gallery/KI_History
  13. Adding sounds to The Beast is probably one of the lamest ideas I've ever heard. As if anybody will be able to hear the sounds over the screaming! I thought they named it The Beast because it feels as if you're being terrorized in the woods by a beast when you ride it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Great coaster! Don't need no stinkin sounds!
  14. How could she NOT know the ride went up? Did she not watch it as she waited in line around it? Was she wearing a helmet and drooling into a cup the entire time she waited in line? I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I could figure that ride out by watching it a few times.
  15. He's still touring, click here to see if he's coming near you this year, it's well worth it, and a load of fun. He's quite a talented musician and funny as hell.
  16. I saw Weird Al there last year, got a good photo of him too when he came out into the audience and sang to this crazy woman standing next to me.Weird Al @ PKI 2003
  17. I believe The King Kobra was advertised on online auction sites well before it was removed, so a few people had an idea it was on it's way out. BTW: I've started an online gallery of photos from Kings Island from days gone past. I'm looking for photos from missing rides, and nostalgia from the park. If you have some photos you would like to add, please contact me. You can view what I've put up so far at http://www.doomedthemovie.com/gallery/KI_History There are a couple shots of The Bat which I find to be the hardest shots to find, if ANYBODY has those, let me know, as well as old rides, shots of the park, especially from the 70's. - Robert E.
