  1. I certainly hope they go fart free too. Have you ever stood in queue for The Beast when someone near you has unleased a Silent but Violent beefer from beyond the outer realms of the fourth dimension? No? Well, I have and let me tell you what, riding The Beast is a walk in the park compared to sitting throught the turbulence and nasal destruction of said backside explosion. So, in closing, I hope this raises a red flag to the Kings Island managers and suits to help save what's left of my nasal hair and alongside the smoking ban, make farting at the park, a thing of the past.
  2. I don't smoke. I don't like smoke, and I know smoking is bad for you. Kings Island is a private enterprise, they can tell us we have to wear green to visit their park if they want to. I have no problem with them putting a smoking ban in place, but as a courtesy, they should at least offer people a place to go to smoke should the need to. It's not a habit, it's an addiction, and a nasty one at that. Some studies have said it's easier to quit heroin than smoking and the last thing I want to be around while waiting in line is some strung out smoker who's about to freak out after seven hours without a smoke. I say let them smoke in designated areas, and if they stray, zap them with a taser gun. Now where did I put that Quarter Pounder with Cheese?
  3. Riding The Beast for the 1st time. I had no idea it was such a monster. You couldn't really see it back in the woods, I had no idea it went so fast. Needless to say I was shocked, surpised and ravaged. I loved every minute of it.
  4. The Screamin Demon was the first looping coaster I ever rode. I rode it the 1st year it was in the park. It was quite scary for me at the time, but once I rode it I was fine. For it's day, it was a riot, but a coaster like The Vortex dwarfs it now.
  5. Thanks. A lot of them are from my own personal collection since I've been visiting the park since the late 70's. Some of the photos are from collections I've found from other collectors. Heh.. I was just looking at the shots, and you can see the Eagles from this shot of the Antique cars I took last Summer.
  6. I last rode the Eagles in like 1982 or so, a long time ago. I need a photo of them, anybody got one? Contact me at unclehulka@americalovescrap.com so I can get it into my Flashback album.
  7. AZ gets no respect... What is AZ? Also, I just added about 10 new photos to my Flashback collection.
  8. For me, There's no other way to start a the day at Kings Island than riding The Beast. Then it's usually onto The Vortex next. If the Italian Job is open when I go, I'll probably hit that after The Beast the next time I go instead of The Vortex.
  9. As long as the resort is somewhat reasonable I'll probably try it at least once. I'm waiting for more details, but as long as they keep a campground somewhere for the campers, this isn't really a big deal. Now if they'd only make a ride with sharks. Now that would be cool.
  10. The King Kobra was an excellent ride, although short. The last circle area before coming back into the line queue was the best. I miss the big ole snake.
  11. I have a shot from my collection at Kings Island Flashback of a shotgun wedding scene that used to be on the train ride. This photo is from 1981. Not sure when they took it out either, but I remember seeing it in the 80's myself.
  12. Well, I found the next best thing to actually riding it over at the Discovery channel. If you haven't seen these videos, check 'em out, some cool coaster videos over here.
  13. Hrm.. Perhaps something with sharks. Yeah. Sharks would be good.
  14. Heh. I had no idea I was bidding against you. It's gone now, it was shipped today.
  15. Where do we pre-register at? I've never been part of this and it sounds interesting.
  16. So Italian Job won't be ready when the park opens? When to they anticipate it being done?
  17. I rode Son of Beast last August, and coming over a hill it threw me back into my seat so hard, it bruised one of my vertebra and I felt crippled for over a month. I also downed at least two bottles of tylenol in that month. I think the ride just caught me by surprise over that hill, but his dad "The Beast" never hurt me that bad. In fact, NO other coaster has ever hurt me. I dobut I ever ride it again. It's fun, but just hurts too much for me.
  18. 1981 Kings Island Scrapbook on Ebay Good luck.
  19. what book would that be? I am not aware of any Kings Island books, please educate me.
  20. I went on 11/1 or 11/2 last year, last weekend of FearFest, and the last open days of the park for last year.
  21. I went last year and all the rides had very short lines, except the fear fest stuff which were packed! I didn't do 1 fearfest thing, but did everything else.
  22. I also rode these new water slides, they ruled! Boomerang Bay is a load of fun, and comes in handy on these hot days! A BIG THANK YOU goes to PKI security man Cooper. Our cars battery was dead when we left, and we were stranded in the rain until we got a jump from security. I guess in our haste to get into the park this morning, we forgot to turn off the lights.
  23. Well, it didn't rain until about 7pm, was dry all day and there were really no lines for anything. I rode almost everything twice. Turned out to be a great day at the park, although the Son of Beast did a number on my back. I think I'm gonna be sore in the morning. Here's a few shots I took today. The New Sign is fashioned after the Paramount sign in California, it's almost done. The Antique Cars are gone. All that's left for now is this dusty trail. Maybe I got so beat up because I rode in the front seat this time!? On a humid, HOT August day, this ride really hits the spot. The Italian Job Minis were there
