  1. According to this, it was where King Cobra used to be...
  2. I would also recommend giving PKI this lady's name and number so they can deal with her however they want. I'm not sure how they would get your information, but I agree that it's best to direct this issue to PKI and let them handle it. If it were a marketing research firm of some sort (there are several around here), it would be different.
  3. The pre-recorded spiel for Drop Zone was most likely made by Paramount. I would assume that the others are made by the park, Paramount or the company that made the ride.
  4. One time I saw someone hop over the fence there by the first curve on The Beast (the one right out of the station) to get their basketball. Too bad no employees saw them.
  5. Sid - I apologize for the misunderstanding. I understand your frustration, and hope you get the information you're looking for. PKI generally has 3 people on each coaster - one driver and two others (one on either side of the train) who check restraints and seatbelts. There are a few exceptions of course, but most coasters have three people.
  6. Sorry for the confusion Dane. I don't actually know anything about Reptar, although I know people who would. Sid - just have your rides manager call PKI and explain the situation. I'm sure whoever answers the phone can direct their call to the appropriate contact person.
  7. Why didn't you come visit me when you were in HB??? I was there from 9:15 til shortly after 4 on Saturday
  8. You should come down here and ride our Tomb Raider some time. Much cooler than the one you guys got stuck with
  9. I doubt they'll remove Ghoster Coaster. That ride is quite popular. Everytime I'm working over at Alley Cat 500 I see a steady stream of people going for that ride. Plus, Scooby Doo is also quite popular at the moment (Cartoon Network is currently airing three different Scooby Doo series...).
  10. I've got long legs, so this really isn't too much of a problem for me, but I have had similar things happen on Son of Beast before. Not fun at all.
  11. Sid - Please read my response to your other post in the employees only section about this. The information you are requesting is not something employees would willingly give out via email.
  12. I realize that the zoo needs the money, but I just don't feel like spending $20 to go to the zoo, although it looks like they've expanded a bit since I was last there (about a year and a half ago) - I noticed they've got a carousel now (which seems to be a common thing at zoos these days...). I was looking at prices for zoos in other major cities within a couple hours of Cincinnati, and found something interesting... Indianapolis: $11.50 ($5.00 parking; additional $1 for admission to White River Gardens) Columbus: $9.00 ($3.00 parking) Louisville: $9.50 (free parking) Both Louisville and Columbus are quite a bit larger than Cincinnati (so is Indianapolis for that matter, although their prices are not much cheaper).
  13. I would visit the zoo more often if it weren't so expensive. It's only 10 or 15 minutes from me. I can't really afford a zoo membership at the moment ($47, $77 or $116 depending on which perks you want - you have to pay $77 just to get free parking!).
  14. We'll have to wait and see what happens. I haven't heard any such thing, but I don't really put too much faith in these rumors anyway.
  15. Not surprised that you mentioned Hamilton County Parks. Their parks are quite nice, and the campground at Winton Woods looks like a great place (I've been through it, but have never stayed there - in fact, I've never even been camping...). Looks like there are quite a few campgrounds close to PKI.
  16. Thought some of you might find this interesting since PKI's campground is closed this season. While driving around after work today, I found some camping really close to Kings Island (thanks to a blue "Tourist Attractions" sign near the intersection of SR48 and US22/SR3, just outside of South Lebanon). I thought I was familiar with all the lakes in this area, but I'd never even heard of this place until today. Lake Cozy-dale is only 15-20 minutes from Kings Island, but it's far enough off the beaten path that you'd never think Mason, I-71 and King's Island were so close. It's in the little town of Cozaddale, just 3 miles west of Goshen and State Route 28. Directions: From PKI, go north on Kings Island Drive. Turn right on Kings Mill Road. Turn left on Columbia Road. Turn right on Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road. Turn right on SR 48 and go about 6 miles. Turn left on Cozaddale-Murdock Road and go about 2.5 miles. Lake Cozy-dale will be on the right just before a sharp left bend in the road. Address: 10621 Cozaddale-Murdock Road For those who live in the Goshen/Milford area, just go north on SR28 until you're just outside of Goshen and look for the sign on the left (the road will be called Cozaddale-Goshen Road). It's just south of the intersection of SR28 and Old SR28. More info: http://www.lakecozy-dale.com
  17. With the public opening of IJST this weekend, and the expectation of really long lines, I thought it would be fun to discuss the longest you've ever waited in line for a ride (and what ride it was). Personally, I think the longest I've ever waited is an hour or so for Flight of Fear when it first opened.
  18. Official opening is tomorrow night I think.
  19. If you ever see anyone walking around with 3D glasses from Spongebob, just inform the nearest associate or security guard and let them handle it (unless of course you're an associate).
  20. I agree. A ferris wheel would be a great addition. Only problem is they take up a lot of space so they'd have to flatten out that small hill there and possibly demolish the old laser tag building (not that there'd be anything wrong with that...). In fact, two major ride companies have a product called Giant Wheel that would be perfect: Ride Trade (Intamin) Giant Wheel Vekoma Giant Wheel
  21. Slingshot does look like a lot of fun, but I just don't feel like paying so much for one ride. If it were cheaper (ie $5 or less), I'd consider riding it... I did go on Drop Zone yesterday before work (waited an hour), then went to watch the Wild Thornberrys ride for a while, but it wasn't any fun because they didn't have the elephant turned on.
  22. I was mainly interested in what the Math/Science Day was all about. As it turned out, I ended up sitting around doing nothing for about 15 minutes until my supervisor showed up because HB isn't part of the Math/Science Day thing. I already knew how late I'd be working, although I was a bit surprised at the number of young kids who were still there after 8. It was a fun night, except for the hour or so when the rides were shut down because of the weather.
  23. I don't think PKI needs this. Anyone riding a Level 5 thrill ride should be well aware of what they're getting into...
  24. As I posted on the other PKI forum... http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/news/...011400_03.shtml
