Well some parks do not allow POV, such as PKI. So sometimes I am inclined to use the Pencam. I got a pretty sweet POV on Beast and Vortex. But I don't share my POVs - so I'll leave it to your imagination.
-
I don't care for it - but the crew is awesome and the ride is great. So don't get me wrong - it is an awesome ride and you are doing an awesome job. I just personally do not like water rides.
-
I did my POVs on Raven and Legend during SRM. So it was perfectly legal!
-
Like most ACErs I do not fit on Ghoster Coaster. But believe me - it is one POV I have yet to get!
-
Well I never kept my fanny pack between the restraint. I always set it to the side on OTSR, or on top of the lap bar with a lap bar. Its not a big deal though. I am fine with it now.
-
Indeed - in the Legend station - there is a sign that says NO FANNY PACKS. I was forced to leave my fanny pack with the operator. I don't like doing this, as it has my photos of Mrs Admiral and Baby Admiral, along with my Membership Card and my pencam that I use to sneak POV photos. But oh well - the ride was decent.
-
Well there is a HUSS rides plaque on the front of the Delirium drive box, and a sign below it clearly labels it as a Giant Frisbee.
-
Yes on FOF the back row of a car has the most room. And between load side and driver side - the driver side has the most room. So if you are tall, or have the typical ACE physique like myself, you want to sit in the rear driver side corner of the car for most comfort. Also - try and take your fanny packs on with you. I once left mine in the station and someone stole it! I lost my digital camera and my ACE membership card!
-
Yes, the track is indeed still there - just as it was several weeks ago.
-
Yes, I have noticed these new sprayers as well. When myself, Mrs. Admiral and Baby Admiral were up at the park last, they had them on. They do look like the things on a fire engine. I'll have to check them out again after I get back from my Korea trip. Have a nice day.

Help us improve PKIC!
Admiral Ackbar replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
I visit PKIC: d. Casually Question 2: I visit PKIC because: a. The forums Question 3: The content of PKIC meets or exceeds what I desire out of the page: 3 - Once again, the design of the site is its strong point. Its content isn't anything spectacular. Question 4: The moderators and admins on this site are fair when making decions about closing, deleting, and moving topics. 4 - They usually are, though sometimes they close topics merely for the reason they are not amused by them. Question 5: The content of PKIC is superior to similar sites involving amusement parks. 3 - The design of the site is great but the content is pretty much normal. I mean there is nothing in the photo gallery any joe schmoe can't take with his own camera. Questions 6: If there was one thing thing that PKIC could add that would bring the quality of the site to the next level, what would it be? Low Quality and High Quality versions of their movies, and make it a format that will play on both Windows and other operating systems, such as MPEG. Also MORE EDITORIALS. Question 7: What is the one thing you like best about PKIC? Active Forums Question 8: What is the one thing you DISLIKE most about PKIC? It needs to be more accessable and standards compliant so that people using older/different operating systems can access it to the same extent as those using Windows XP. -
Yes, and I highly doubt that it will be Vortex.
-
Yes - Passes and Tickets pretty much say that you ride at your own risk. That is also what the Fun and Safety guides are for. They list the conditions that people with should not ride. If they do ride, and get hurt, it is not PKI's fault. As far as the lightning thing - had he been struck by lightning while riding a ride, I can see his point. However if he is walking around the park, or the PARKING LOT - and gets struck by lightning, its his own darn fault. Park can't be held responsible for that. But yes - hopefully this case against Vortex will be dismissed. Its another dumb person trying to milk the system - and hopefully she'll be shot down like she deserves to be.
-
Yeah - the guy was in the parking lot. How stupid is that. People like that scare me. My question is how in the hell do you hurt your face on Vortex - and even then if she did, the only damages she would be entitled to are the costs of the medical attention it required. She can't randomly sue for like 4 million bucks cause her face went numb on Vortex. I'm sure the case will be thrown out... Stupid *****.

Without a doubt, Tomb Raider has the best theming. FOF has theming in the station and queue area, but the ride itself isn't really themed. Tomb Raider has theming the entire time. Also Italian Job isn't too bad. I think it could have been better though. I think Beast has pretty cool theming. I don't know what it is supposed to be - but its like an abandoned mining post or something, and the signs have blood on them and stuff like that. Don't mind the screaming in the woods, everything is fine. So it builds up like its going to be an awesome ride, but after the first drop and the ravine you realize that its all talk.

Here is a funny thought. A wood version of TTD. They can have it - Ill keep my SOB.
-
Son of Beast is very close to Beast's Record. If SFGAdv builds a wood coaster that is thirty feet taller than Son of Beast, I would assume that it would beat The Beast's record. I think its just sad. Not that our records might be broken - but that Six Flags has nothing better to do than copy what others have done and just make them a little bigger. I mean I guess they figure that if they build a TTD clone but make it a few feet taller - people will stop going to Cedar Point and go to GAdv instead. And if they beat SOBs record, people will forget all about SOB. I know there are many out there that would - but still - I must laugh at Six Flags. If the Holiday World rumor is true - it is different. They would be breaking The Beast's record - but doing it because they are making a good coaster that just happens to be longer than Beast. It seems Six Flags sets out just to break records. Well if this whole thing is true, Six Flags will probably have to sell a few more parks to pay for this and the other upgrades for their other parks. So that brings up another question. When will they run out of parks to sell? Which parks are their flagship parks that they will never sell? GAdv and MM?
-
I hate KISS 107. They suck. I don't like the kind of music they play. That contest is pretty cool though.
-
Vortex does indeed have a story... The theming could be better to convey this story however.
-
What about girls who wear flip flops and people who grab branches from the trees on Shake, Rattle & Roll?
-
Read it a little more closely, along with the post I made before it. By safe I mean safe against removal. There are no rides at PKI that are totally safe - meaning that they are exempt from ever being removed. Any of them can be removed at any time at the park's discretion.

What ride is overrated at kings island
Admiral Ackbar replied to vortexdemon05's topic in Kings Island
I don't know if I would say Beast is overrated. I mean it was rated #47. Now if it was rated #1 then yes I would say it is overrated. But as far as coaster enthusiasts go - it is pretty much where it belongs. Now alot of the PKI Fanboys seem to think that Beast is the most awesome roller coaster ever invented. To them, I ask - why? It has a nice beginning, but from the start of the brake shed through the entrance to the 540 degree helix is pretty much pointless. It just goes through the woods at high velocity - that is all. I also don't understand why it is rated a 5. It is not that forceful. I would give it a 3 or 4 max. It is weak compared to Son of Beast or FACE/OFF or Flight of Fear. -
OK - I can see your point. My question is: do you believe that its reputation will continue to drive its popularity even if its record is lost? I can see that although it is not that exciting of a layout - some people could still like it simply because it is The Beast. So do you think this would be the case? Would people still come from around the world to ride it? As far as Top Thrill Dragster goes - yes it was the first to break that height. But Kingda Ka is bigger. Top Thrill Dragster isn't the type of ride that I would think would be considered classic. I am sure the park will hold onto it for a while - but it probably won't be there forever. Perhaps PKI will do the popular thing, and keep Beast. Who knows. I just happen to be among the people who think that it is highly overrated. I do realize that there are many who still love it. One thing I will admit - Beast is way better at night. I actually enjoy it at night. During the day it is OK - but there are a lot of other things at PKI that are much more thrilling. By far, the best part of The Beast is the 540 degree helix.
-
No, because Beast is known for one thing. Its record. That is what makes it popular. That is its defining characteristic. It is really long. Other rides, such as those mentioned above, have other things going for them. IJST is not a record ride. It is a movie experience. Record breaking rides are not the only rides that should be around. But think about it. You have a ride sitting on 35 acres of land that you could really use for expansion, that draws people because it is the longest coaster in the world - and then it's record is broken. It no longer holds its record, and many people lose interest with it. The only people still liking it would be the die hard people. Look at the Flying Eagles. They were very popular, yet park development required that they be moved. The Beast's time will come. To think that any ride is safe from removal is naive.
-
What purpose will Paramount's Kings Island have for keeping it around once its record is broken? People come to ride Beast to say they have been on the longest wood coaster on Earth. Once it loses that title - it will be pointless. You can get the exact same effect you get on Beast by driving through the woods at high speed. The thing is all straight track except for the few turns it has. And aside from the two main drops, and the drop into the ravine, the track is totally flat. It has no airtime. The ride just plain sucks.
