  1. It just made me want to ride it even more...
  2. I'd like to see a round-up of some sort, I've always enjoyed them. Or even a chance Chaos ride. Oh and for heaven's sakes throw some trees in there. On another note, I think it would be more worth keeping around if the track had a more involved layout. I can go to the little place up the road for probably half the price and drive on a track three times as long with more to keep it interesting...
  3. Seems like yesterday we were all waiting for a first glimpse at Nick U...
  4. The first time I rode Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. I rode in the very front seat, at night. I was a little nervous getting on, even though it's been ages since I've been scared of a coaster. I was high as a kite when I got off that thing, there's a whole scientific explanation for the natural high that coasters give, and that day made me understand it.
  5. Seeing "Cedar Fair"...or "Apollo"... or whatever it will be...on the top of my paychecks again No snow Cedar Point thunderstorms sitting on a bench back by Maverick people watching on my day off B-dubs at 1 am with my crew sprinting from space spiral to get to work on time after oversleeping coming home after a good season etc...
  6. I've never lost mine on a ride, even Vortex...But knowing how things work, since yours are so expensive they would probably slip right off or something...
  7. This almost makes me feel bad for taking one of those jobs last year, even though I'm from Indiana...and I just submitted my application for this year, albeit a little late, I'm hoping that doesn't affect my chances too much...
  8. First of all I must point out the irony of talking about a park "riding out" anything ... But anyway, I really need to get down there, I meant to last season, but never got away from Cedar Point long enough. When I was in school in Terre Haute, there was a Beech Bend semi truck that drove up and down highway 41 every day, I was always intrigued.
  9. I was just up there...there is track all over the parking lot...not that that is anything weird...Just wanted to add
  10. You think hearing it will drive you crazy, try having to say something like that every few minutes...
  11. And they are probably really proud of themselves and think they are very clever...It's not bad, I'm not much of a slogan person anyway, but it's ok, at least there's a stab at wit in there...
  12. I tell you the best weight loss plan ever...Work on the Matterhorn triangle at Cedar Point...when the season started i was right around 225, despite eating out with my crew nearly every night and drinking more Coke than anyone ever should, I still left weighing around 180. And now it's all coming back since I've been sitting at home doing nothing...
  13. That depends...are you a one time visitor, who just ignored the warnings...Or are you a well informed pass holder who can come back several times, and are willing to risk the possible revocation of your pass for that particular shot? Some people would...
  14. I stumbled across this website this morning, and got to poking around. I've never seen it mentioned, so I thought I'd share. It has tons of really interesting information, and neat pictures from construction to the the present. As is the case with a lot of sites "off the beaten path," it doesn't seem to be updated often, but what is there is great stuff. http://www.cplerr.com/
  15. I want to know where he was sitting that allows him to use the adjective "smooth" and "Son of Beast" in the same sentence. Granted I found it enjoyable with the old trains, and he didn't so I suppose it's to each his own. The ride has potential, it just needs someone to love it.
  16. Neil Peart looks like an older Tom Hanks...or maybe I'm just crazy...

  17. I had all summer to ride it when I worked there...I never did...I meant to, but just never got around to it. Now I'll probably never get to. Are there even anymore like DD out there anymore?
  18. August 20th was the last day I was at CP for the summer...That was probably the weirdest day I've ever had in a park. I spent the whole summer working there, and not only had it become my park, but essentially my home. That was the morning I processed out, and it was the oddest feeling walking around for the last time, almost like I wasn't welcome there in my own backyard. Technically I don't think I was, I'm pretty sure we're supposed to leave immediately after processing out, but dang it I promised my mom a sea gull from the glass blower shop, and forgot
  19. OOH OOH OOH I was there!!! I saw it!!! I was coming back from my break and saw stuck at the top, I was excited, but then I had to get back to work and by the time i managed to get back where I could see it, it was back down.
  20. It might be weather related...? Opening day was a little warmer than this weekend was, could that have something to do with it? I didn't notice any vibration at all on Opening day.
  21. I did, mostly in my rides in the middle of the trains, my back seat ride was smooth as was the row 3 ride. But my two or three laps around rows 7 and 8 were a little shaky, I just passed it off as a weird fluke, I hope that's all it is.
  22. I rode SoB yesterday 1-1, it hurt. I was disappointed cuz I was really pullin for the old boy, I want to like him I really do...
  23. Don't feel bad, I was feeling pretty good about my 10 last night until previously mentioned man in orange sunglasses mentioned his 40 laps he got that day, and then the guy behind us said he had 107...I quit
  24. That may have been you that I kept meeting in line ...I was wearing a Danville baseball shirt... There were quite a few people doing that, though. Were you wearing orange rimmed sunglasses and had just come from work? If not then it was just a random guy marathon-ing, however the conversations we had in line were pleasant...
  25. ^I'll be on the lookout next time...All my friend's are wusses, so I always wind up on my own, which is better than nothing
