Holiday to add something big....

Poor guy...not only does he own six flags, but the redskins too... -
Question about one of the slides in Boomerang Bay....
Braves0511 replied to Cortney's topic in Rumors
I've never liked waterslides, number one cuz I don't look good on them, but also because I can't see what's keeping me safe. On a coaster I can see the wheels and all the safety equipment and know I'm safe, but on a waterslide it's all up to the invisible laws of physics. I've always been tempted to "eject" from the tube on the funnel...But I also enjoy my ability to stay in the park and not be kicked out for stupidity... -
I think the banking is a little too abrupt...both on 'tex and Adventure Express, although it fits in with AE's theme...but you go from flat track, and then BAM suddenly your sideways and your skull is cracked from where you bashed it on the restraint. The ride should "slide" smoothly into a corner, and back out again IMO. I guess a better term to use is "roll into/out of"... ^^and no, being big doesn't help much either, I'm 6 even with wide everything, so I'm basically pinned in and cant adjust to the ride...

I wanna go sign me up! haha, that looks like a sweet trip...sometimes you have to put the coasters away for awhile...and when you do you find places like this!

SOB is good once, maybe twice in one day...last time i rode it i thought i was gonna have to see a dr. halfway thru the ride...i honestly think it was easier to ride back with the old trains and loop...plus it had the loop haha...but I would try it in the front seat as everyone says it's smoother up there, I haven't had a chance yet though...

I didn't much care for Disney either...Maybe because it was really really really crowded, and by the time I made it there I was a little old for most of it...depressing...and it was really expensive...I will probably enjoy it more when/if/heaven forbid i have kids and take them there...

I work with a girl who came in the other day all excited...she starts telling everyone that would listen about how The Beast stopped on the first hill and they couldn't get it going again, so they sent another train up the lift to bump it and get it moving, and that made her hit her head on the grab bar in front of her and black out thru the whole ride...I just turned around and kept doing my job... Then when I was at the park a few weeks ago, this little boy and his mom were walking thru Action Zone, and the boy says "I wanna ride Top Gun" and his mom, rather angrily, said "For the last G** D*** time, your too little to ride Top Gun, how bout Son of Beast instead?" I looked at my dad and shook my head... That same day, I tried to explain to a partially drunk man that no one had died on Son of Beast, and yes the lift is supposed to give and sway like that... And something needs to be done about Final Destination...I went to a friends house and there were a couple people there I didn't know, and we watched it (I'm not sure why I stayed through the whole movie), then after it was over, the random people and I argued about how that had never actually happened, and couldn't ever happen, and the best part was when I had to explain to them that they had never seen it happen. They honestly thought that they had seen a coaster fall apart like that and were trying to tell me it used to be at KI...I nailed them when they couldn't tell me the name of the ride...

Six Flags St. Louis... The lines were a mess, you couldn't touch a handrail for fear of getting a piece of gum or two...all the paint that one could reach while standing in line was chipped/carved/defaced etc. The theming effects, what theming there was, didn't work, like the lights and such on the police cars by the Batman coaster, you could tell they were supposed to be on...but weren't. The coasters we went on, while being ok rides, were either cookie cutter rides from other parks, or not well taken care of... The Boss, for example, had potential to be a good ride, and at the time was only a year old or so, don't remember the exact year, but it was rough as all get out, and the line was slow (mainly because it broke down twice, we were at six flags remember...) I also got pegged in the face by a quarter thrown from the boss's line that goes above the gokart track, but it allowed me to have exact change when I bought a drink later, thank you random quarter chucker...While I make light on it, it could've potentially been serious with a loss of an eye or something, and shows either poor planning to allow guests the opportunity to do something like that. Or it shows how slow and boring the lines were, Im leaning torward the latter. The saving grace of that day had to be Mr. Freeze...yes it's a cookie cutter, and yes there are taller faster rides that do the same thing...but it was my first vertical "experience", great fun... All in all, I still enjoyed my trip there, but I've been to better places.

I assumed it had to be in the trains path for it to hit it and derail...ha...we just couldn't figure out where you could park a truck that would be in the path...unless it was up on the hill by the line (odd place to park) or over in the trees near the drop...

I hate when people scream all the way up the lift...the drop you can yell your head off...but your moving 5 miles an hour up a gradual slope...theres nothing to scream about...if you are that bothered by the fact that you are getting fairly high...tell your riding neighbor/friend...I don't care!

I've been to perry meridian for baseball and winter drumline, and i think i had a drumline instructor that went there...and I was just in bloomington for the dci world finals...it was sweet! that was the most pointless post i've ever made... I wish i could go back to my first day of high school...i miss it...i start my freshman year of college in two weeks...

In response to a previous post in which there was a complaint about a fast food worker not knowing the price of his product...The computer doesn't actually tell the individual price of the product, at least where I work...It obviously gives the total but as far as a product by product breakdown it doesn't...I wish it did, because Im guilty of having to look at the menu as well...While the average intelligence of a fast food worker can be questioned, unless of course its mine, it's not because we're dumbed down by the equipment, we just start dumb haha... Anyway back on topic...in regards to the 2002 top gun/flight deck/maint. truck incident, my dad and I were trying to figure out where on that ride is low enough for that to occur? We couldn't see from the line, so if anyone could settle the mystery...you could be my hero baby...

that would liven up the ride a bit...especially at night...make for a good halloween deal to. ha

Speaking of wild animals in the park...I saw a mama deer and her baby eating the ivy off a vertical support on The Beast the other day...we were going up the second lift and someone says "is that a deer!?" and someone else says "no that's two deer"...and sure enough there they were down and to the right...I would post a picture, but A: I don't have one...and B: this doesn't seem to be a good photo posting thread...

I just bought my tickets at kroger a couple weeks ago for 23 something, i was psyched...5 tickets for 120 dollars give or take...

I think your right on that one, this is a normal announcement for alot of parks, like Busch Gardens and the like. It's just huge for us because we aren't used to getting rides like this every day, which is what makes it extra special. I would go as far to say that this is the biggest anouncement since 36 years ago, and after my last trip I wouldn't put ol sonny up with his father... My only question, is why is there a hyphen between the c and the k in the logo? I just got the desktop and noticed that, made me laugh a bit...

This ride looks absolutely amazing...230 foot drop looks great......but the real reason I'm posting here...*first post on new laptop!!!!!*

Last Day to Purchase KIC Day Tickets is TODAY!
Braves0511 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I really want to go too, but i have no money haha, i have to get ready for school in a couple weeks and can't reallyjustify spending money right now, especially after i bought my tickets for the drum corp international world finals this weekend...this will be the second time i've missed this and it's kinda depressing...oh well...next year... -
be sure to ride it in the front seat...unobstructed views, and just a good all around ride, especially the final corkscrew=pure win

i finally made it across the border and gotto goto the park this summer, and i must say it was a very uneventful trip...almost notwoth writing a report, but it's just not a trip to the park with out writing about it later. We got in just after opening, and managed toavoid the photographers somehow, and headed straight for the tower. my little sister brought a friend with her that had never been to the park so we went up and showed her around. i was pleasantly surprised by the view of the rivertown construction. To be honest i'd kind of forgotten in the hustle and bustle of the morning. There was some track laying down there by a crane, that was about all i saw though. Apparently there are supports now? We then managed to get my sister, who hates coasters, to ride the former italian job, whatever it's called now it's not creative enough to remember She didn't much care for it. While the rest of my family and my sisters friend went to the waterpark i went on a coaster binge. Firehawk is still great, and I discovered Flight of Fear is a front seat ride, great speed, amplified head choppers, and the last corkscrew is amazing there. The Beast was rough the first couple times i rode it, but i also found it to be much smoother in the front... Speaking of smooth, Son of Beast is not. This was the first time i've gotten to ride the new trains, and i had high hopes, but i honestly liked it better before...the drop out of the station was great and felt like butter, but after that i honestly thought i was gonna break a rib or get whiplash or die or something, it was rediculous. i only rode it once, i think i'll give it one more chance in the front seat sometime, but if that's not any better than i'll probably take sonny off my list... also i really miss the noise of thelift from the old trains...you used to be able to hear that thing clanking up to 218 ft from the waterpark, now you barely hear it in the top gun/flightdeck line...takes away a little atmosphere... The best part of the day was when i turned the corner justas they reopened the line for Delirium and i was 8th or so in line, it had been down most of the day. Always a great ride, speaking of huss rides, i meant to make it over tothe Crypt to check out what was new, but the line was long all day so i never got around to it...i kinda wish i had, i didn't do Invertigo for the same reason but i've ridden it before so i knew i wasn't missing much... After rejoining the group for dinner i wound up taking my sisters friend on her first "real" coaster ride on Vortex...we were gonna do The Beast cuz you can't go to the park without riding that at night, but it was closed...maybe for the fireworks? it was about 930 it had been up all day, i don't know what was going on, but she decided she still wanted to hit The Vortex...it was funny to watch, the farther up the lift we went the tighter she held on to the handles...but when it was all said and done, i think we have a new coaster convert...praise john allen! that was lame, sorry. But yeah, theres a long report about basically nothing, if you're still reading this i commend you, if not, then i don't blame you...and sorry about the lack of spaces in some area, we just bought a cheap keyboard to hold us until we buy a new computer...its' definitely a nine dollar keyboard...shift doesn't work...space bar doesn't work...r key doesn't work...

when did you take those pictures/where? i was there two days ago and there was track lying around but no vertical construction that i saw, maybe i was looking in the wrong place?
-
im pretty psyched, we were there a couple days ago and i saw all the work that had been going on, and thetrack laying there...from what i saw, it's going to be sweet....yeehaw anyone?

I've always thought the lazy river has needed a fresh coat of paint in some areas. Even though the paint doesn't really contribute to the hygenics of everything, it just makes it look cleaner, and therefore more of an appetizing activity.
