  1. BUB Interprets that FAMOUS Canadian phrase *EH*! Subject: Understanding Canadians It has come to my attention that some people are having a tough time understanding Canadians like myself. So I am going to run through a very brief translation of the Canadian dialect and hopefully ease some minds out there. EH= pronounced AY (similar but not the same as huh) Eh is a useful word that is very important and is the basis of all Canadian communications. It is used in conjunction with other words, or simply by itself. The tone or the slight difference in exclamations also changes the meaning. Eh= what did you say? Eh?= what do you think EH?= something to say just to end a sentence Eh!!= WOW!! EH!?= what do you mean? Eh??= your joking!!!?? EH!!= Hello..you off in the distance!!! Eh?= want a donut? Eh!= sure!! Eh!Eh!= coffee double cream too please! Eh?= what you say when you realize you have no money to pay for it Eh..cmon eh?= asking them to let you pay for it next time. hey..eh!= want to go to the drive in movie?? Eh...uhuh= yes sure! Eh..y'know= Ill pick you up at 8 Eh..cmon!!= well thats early..but ok Eh..wanna?eh?= lets fool around EHHHHHHH= sounds coming from the car hey..um..er eh...= Im pregnant EH?????????= how did that happen? EHHehhEHHehhEHHH= sounds from the delivery room EHHH ehh EHHH ehh= babys first cry Ehh..whadya think eh?= marry me other usefel terms: hoser= a good friend.. take off!= you are kidding,no way,fly an airplane skates= what all canadians wear as first shoes(thats why we walk funny) lumberjack= something in our genes.. screech= a nice drink swish= a drink made from leftover screech barrels The Rock= Newfoundland Newfoundland= pronounced noofunlan Dory= Newfoundland cruise liner Toronto= pronounced Trawna Lake Ontario= where all sewers drain into Yukon= a drink Two Four= case of beer sixty pounder= large bottle of screech Over by= still havent deciphered that term yet The Canadian citizenship test: spell canada= C eh N eh D eh who was the first Prime Minister=Sir John EH Macdonald So if you hear me talking like this. Hey..eh..cmon eh hoser! y'know take off!! EH??umm err well hey ok eh! it's friendly! 8-) bub
  2. The pre-party at Moonlite Gardens isn't bad either! I've seen campers across the street on Kellog two days before the concert. You may not remember the Dead Heads camping out days before the Grateful Dead concerts. They would take baths in the Ohio River. pilotank Oh Man! I remember a Grateful Dead Concert up at Canada's Wonderland. You'd get a contact high just walking down the aisles!
  3. Well, I've slept over night at the park. Been there many times at 4:30am doing set up as well. When I was morning person set up, used to go set up the stands and then to softball. Would finish softball, shower in the dressing rooms and pick up money bags from the cage and then off to work.
  4. Agreed. They probably want to let things die down a bit so they don't push her into rebelling as teenagers often do. I would also think that Disney doesn't want Miley to turn into another Britney Spears and keep her wholesome image. Being the lack of talent and singing skills, I'd venture to say that her career will be over before any of the wholesome image is gone. The first time that I'd actually seen her perform was on "Idol Gives Back." I was really wanting to see the judges critique her performance.
  5. It's nothing different than Vanity Fair has done before. Remember all the Demi Moore spreads. Now I'm certainly no Hanna Montana/Molly Cyrus fan. <G> I believe she has ever bit of talent that her father has. <G> But cut the kid a break. It's not like she has gotten knocked up (ie Zoey) or goes out and parties all night long.
  6. Yeah, Jimmy used to do 3 & 4 nights at TimberWolf and would sell out every night. Merchandise stores throughout the park would stock Jimmy Buffet style stuff and all the employees could wear floral type leighs <sp?> on the day. He would actually go down to the Island's in Covington (now ain't that a blast from the past!) and do some smaller and intimate performances (unannounced of course).
  7. People were making it out like she was doing nude photos. Now right or wrong that she was in a spread in Vanity Fair, I don't think you can hardly call them pornographic.

  9. And that is how tradition is born. <G>
  10. That actually used to be the problem before. People did not have to pay parking to go to the restaurant in the past. But everyone thought that you had to.
  11. The whole dressing up for shows started in Cincinnati. Jimmy looked out into the audience and coined the term.
  12. I really don't see anything wrong with the photos. One of the worlds best photographers did the session and nothing is obscene.
  13. Man, that is really scary. Glad that ya'll are ok. That type of thing should never happen.
  14. Well they've not named any large acts. I can see why they'd go to SFOG as they'd not nearly fill Chastain Ampitheater, Gwinnette Center, Georgia Dome or Phillips Arena.
  15. When Buffett Moved from TimberWolf to Riverbend, it had such an adverse affect on the park that our supervisor bonuses were actually lower that year.
  16. Which is something a lot of people don't realize. That is one of TimberWolf's Claims to fame.
  17. The year before last, one of my lifting buddies was riding the skyride at SFOG. The associate did not lock the gondola and sent it out. I think that he got a call from the General Manager and got a free season pass for the next season.
  18. That's actually kinda scarry about the Monster Pod not being locked.
  19. Wow, I didn't know that. It must take a lot of skill, ingenuity and cheese. It actually only takes two guys and a chiwawa to complete. I think that they've moved the rotation to every 3 years or 6K Miles.
  20. One time a train came in on SOB and people were bloodied and had to go to the ER as well.
  21. IR always had the basics - Prime Rib, Sole, Etc. There were always some nice specials and the food was always prepared well. (My opinion - <G> and I am good at eating!) If they kept International Street active and decorated I think that they could make IR successful. If not I can't see it doing well.
  22. IR was at one time open year round. It was not very busy in off season, but that was long before the area had become as built up as it was. There was once a proposal (Pre-Paramount) to keep International Street open year round and to make the entrance to the park right by the tower. I've not heard anything about that idea for years.
  23. Those bunny hop hills and overbanks are simply amazing. Being in the open cars just adds to the experience.
  24. From a friend that has been on all of them?
