  1. No, if your claim to fame is that you are a singer... you should be able to sing. ... and if you claim to be an actor ... you should be able to act. --- Billy Ray can do neither. Love or hate Britney, I don't think it's deniable that she is certainly a talented performer. (And No, I'm not a fan.) I would not compare Mindy Cyrus to Paris Hilton. Paris is simply ill prepared to get herself out of bed, let alone have any talent. Brooke, bless her heart, is so well intentioned. She's just never been able to pull off a credible role. And people will likely know Miley... Just as they know Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Menudo <G>. I've always said, Mary has all the talent of her father.
  2. With the new movie coming out in 2009, this could be posturing.
  3. Now Billy Ray has just had such a stellar career! He was fantastic in The Love Boat: The Next Wave. And I don't think you can really count his roles in the Hanna Montana shows as acting. I'd venture to say that he could not sell out a McDonalds.
  4. My recommendation is give Kings Island's security a try. One of the men that set up Kings Islands security was later wooed by Walt Disney World because of his skill. KI Security has never been anything to sneeze at. I remember back in the KECO days that they prided themselves that they never had to do announcements over the PA system as they could locate someone with their officers faster than they could with an announcement. And it's very true. I know some guys that look like I could break them like a twig but could kick my butt in 30 seconds flat.
  5. I've never seen it as an issue under any of the owners.
  6. <G> That's why I suggested it Big Guy! WooferBear is getting older, but he's not senile..... yet.
  7. Let's bet Gordon. If Milly Cyrus is still around 3 years from now (ie - any other teen super singer/super band you can think of) I will buy ya a beer.
  8. Three more years and people are going to say Molly Who?
  9. So who discontinued this at Kings Island? I have conflicting information. One Person has said that Paramount Discontinued it as they saw no use in it and another said that CF Discontinued it as it was not done at CP.
  10. I just can't imagine that they don't offer that service any more. Maybe I'm out of touch as I don't really buy a lot of things at most parks as I've been to many multiple times. Hearing a couple reports, though, it seems to be true. Who wants to carry a bunch of souvenirs all day at a park? Ohhhh, solution is.... Don't buy souvenirs?
  11. Of course it's a free service. You're buying a product from the park. Why would it not be free to have them keep it for you in a location until you're ready to go?
  12. It actually was a service that started in either 1985 or 1986. It was part of the service excellence program. The idea was to meet whatever reasonable expectations that a guest had.
  13. Miley Cyrus is coming to Haunt's this year? Careful, they'll hire you for the taunt house that Tibbles worked at last year.
  14. Well I think today's trip reports just indicate either poor training or poor hiring. Combine that with a lack of concern on the part of some rides workers and it just is a dangerous situation. So essentially, they can save the money but possibly injure guests/workers?
  15. Well, I'd think not. Attendance figures are used for staffing issues. Being that CF seems very cognizant of staffing, they would likely not discontinue hourly reads.
  16. Yeah, there are a variety of different codes that used over the radio's. They're usually division specific. There are general ones (for weather and attendance) that go to everyone's radios.
  17. Ahhh, many employees have slept over night at their location from time to time.
  18. I can't imagine that an announcement was not made. If AZ said one was made you can pretty much bet on it. Chances are that you those that did not hear the announcement, were on a ride at the time. Ya really can's blame the park for closing if few people are in the park.
  19. I've been told that from friends that work at Disney World, as well. It's just usually not done by jumping off the top of a hotel. Very unfortunate.
  20. Not True! This year is Nostalgia year, remember?
  21. If you think about the possibilities (and all of us could) it's a very scary thought. Glad you're ok big man.
  22. In college one of my drinks of choice was Dr. Pepper and vodka. And this was around the time when Crystal Pepsi came out, so I would put the vodka in a Crystal Pepsi bottle and take it into the basketball games. It wouldn't have worked in a 7Up or Sprite bottle because those two had too many bubbles so the vodka wouldn't have passed for those! In college I drank vodka with most anything.
  23. Aw, come on. Just because a ride went 29 on me and I had two inattentive ride ops doesn't mean I'm bad luck! Well, the Monster incident concerns me the most. The TR:TC incident is not anything major, but makes ya think about those bad drive through speakers. The Racer issues is just a lack of caring. If the train was stopped on the hill, it's not like the other train was going to collide with it.
  24. Mental Note.... Ride no rides with XGator.
  25. I actually saw Buffet up in Mt.Adams before his heyday. That's where he actually got his real start in Cincinnati. Apparently his song Fins is based on a girl from Cincinnati that picked him up hitch-hiking, somewhere near Eden Park. pilotank He would actually run around Mt. Adams even during his hey day.
