  1. You may be thinking a portion of Celebration? Where the dancers wore giant bat wings and swung across the stage?
  2. Yes, but I don't think that the "Uber Hype" blame can be placed on Ryan. He's passing on and imparting information gathered by the park. Now granted, these press releases are created more for the actual press than they are for enthusiasts, but I am not sure I see the need for a Press Release on items that have been common knowledge for months.
  3. Unbiased? And yeah, even I have not ridden since 1972. I think my first ride on The Racer was in either 1975 or 1976. It was with my Grandfather and I remember bouncing all over the seat. Thought I was going to fall out. But loved it never the less.
  4. Better than it ever has? That's quite a bold statement. Please post your source, otherwise this must remain a rumor. ... and certainly perspective based rumor at that.
  5. Where is the selection that you pick for "Amazed That The Park Took So Long To Announce Something Everyone Already Knew" I would agree. Unless they were really willing to go back to old style Racer, the press info is just dated hype. Let's see the coaster back to Red, White and Blue. The park really has to get a grasp that new media does not allow them to play games with publicizing decisions made months earlier.
  6. This is a complete surprise!?!?! Well, at least a complete surprise we've known about since December or January.
  7. It's interesting how different parks approach things. I think that CF is still in the learning phase. They'll come along.

I was working that day, it was opening day in 2002. Found out that dustpans don't make very good snow shovels. Was Actually a couple years before that. <G> I graduated College in 1990. That was the last year that I worked at the park. Wardrobe actually passed out Winterfest Jackets to Wear!
  9. .... Ahhhh, and some parks have grass and greenery..... some have asphalt.

I've seen the park close early several times. In fact, I remember working Opening Day one year that it snowed. The attendance was so low that the park ended up closing at 3pm.
  11. What are those crazy Sea World parks doing? Announcing a 2009 attraction? And a 2009 coaster? Lord! Don't they know that these things are to be kept secret?
  12. That's awesome! I see they even won one of those all important Golden Ticket Awards!
  13. And I would hope that the individual would approach even this as a minor set back and look forward to absolutely amazing opportunities of the future.
  14. Ohhhhh, ok we're only working on presumption here. Had me worried for a second that we were actually basing these statements upon fact. <G>
  15. I missed that portion? Was she going to be a professional dancer? Gymnast? What career was she destined for that has been lost? All things change, do they not? Funny thing is that I know many that are disabled that do very well and have very happy lives. One is only a victim if they allow themselves to be one.
  16. Harry Potter in College Literature
  17. http://www.marketwire.com/mw/release.do?id=834580
  18. I think that those businesses may see a slow down in expansion and even closing some locations, but I really don't think there is a chance that you'll see any of those three close soon. Now Applebee's may be a different matter; as they are playing catch up with Chili's and Ruby Tuesday's.
  19. Really not that surprising. Cheese Cake Factory Express does not really match the rest of the restaurant's image. I'm venturing that they probably would like to be thought of as a middle to upper style of dining as opposed to a grab it quick type restaurant.
  20. Shaggy, that is hands down the best trip report that I've ever read. In fact, it's probably one of the best articles on travel that I've ever read in any form of journalism. I'm just sitting here and it gave me goose bumps how well written it was. All I can really say is, thanks for sharing. <Seriously>
  21. It's actually kind of sad. I'd venture to say that Carrowinds is probably going to become the next Geauga Lake. I think that Hard Rock will actually be hurtful to SFOG, as well.
  22. Why would they turn off water fountains, won't guests just overload the fountains that are working and in the end use just as much water? Or are certain fountains going to be hooked up to the wells? Either way shutting down water fountains doesn't sound like a good idea. No, the water from the wells is not treated and would not be able to go into the fountains.
  23. That's the TimberWolf stage in the Background.
  24. I agree. Never been into popularity type contests. Everyone has some type of value. You can count me out on this one.
  25. I'm still not quite sure. Can this press release source really be counted on?
