If you coaster fanboys are so ready for some downhill thrills then may I introduce you guys to the oldest downhill thrill in existences and every year it gets a fresh new track for it!!! It’s called a snow sled!! In the next couple days you will have an optimal opportunity to experience the thrills that your grandfathers enjoyed in their youth hood. So get out there and enjoy it and don’t let this opportunity pass you by. Going……..to get my 6 year olds sled ready for our annual snow sledding outing and to tell the wife to have the hot chocolate and blankets ready when we get back!!!

Well so what!!!!! While you are bumping and grinding with all those sweaty tourist being miserable, we’ll be back here snow sledding with near empty hills.

Mikewhy; if you and your girlfriend can take unruly guests at Scooby’s Haunted Castle then I know you can take a little ribbing from other members here. Trust me you were not singled out, and I do enjoy your input here.

Uh, did I just miss something? Bill; They were throwing out hints about the new location of the Tempest Ride and I was throwing out a hint of my own, for those who like the challenge. If you missed it look at Robbie’s avatar. The trip report part was just an observation on my part regarding the OP’s trip to Americana Or in this case everybody else’s. It truly gave a new meaning to Trip Reports.

Bill; those are some great pictures and I am glad you got them when you did. The park really looked clean. Robbie: The Avatar points ^ to the new location for Tempest. Pkitrumpet08; great trip report, you give new meaning to the term Trip Report.

Disney's Beast Cast Member Arrested
Avatar replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I am glad that got him before his sickness got worse, plus in is definitely in the wrong job to have an illness like his. I don’t think he will go to prison though. IMHO, his first time in trouble and he did not molest any minors, directly, I think they will give him mandatory rehab and a very long probation sentence. -
What does PKI need to take the next step as a theme park?
Avatar replied to GADVFREAK99's topic in Rumors
I think they would like Cedar Point to continue to be the place to go for the coaster thrill seekers. So I believe that they will push all the parks surrounding Cedar Point to be a family theme/entertainment park. The folks in the industry keep telling us that the families of all ages are the ones who spend the most money. So the Coaster thrill seekers will still be relatively close to Cedar Point and can spend their dollars there as concentrated group. -
Yes, several members have expressed their desires for a return of a sky ride, I think it would be great to run it from the Oktoberfest area all the way to Boomerang Bay would be nice. That way they could return the train to a themed attraction and it would help keep the foot traffic from needing to go through the Nickelodeon Universe area. Parents would like that a whole lot if the area was not used as a cut through to another park area. (if your child ever darts away on a crowded day it make it hard to weave around all the guest)

Feb 9, 2007 Local6.com - A Walt Disney World cast member who plays Beast from "Beauty and The Beast" was arrested Thursday on 51 counts of child pornography, according to Local 6 News. Orange County sheriff's deputies arrested Matthew Wendland, 20, after receiving a tip from one of his roommates at Camden World apartments near the Disney World property. Authorities picked up Wendland at his work at Disney, where he was dressed as The Beast from Walt Disney World. Officers then went to his home. 'He gave us consent to search his apartment," Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Rick Mankewich said. "In his bedroom, in his apartment we located several images of young children posed in pornographic positions." "(They) found explicit photos of children ages 3 and up," Local 6's Charnel Wright said. "It was shocking, even to investigators." "It is obviously concerning for anyone downloading pictures like this," Mankewich said. "I've viewed the pictures myself and it is extremely disturbing looking at these." The 20-year-old did not have a criminal background. "This guy doesn't have a criminal history," Mankewich said. "You can do all of the check you want and it is not going to show anything. We just lucked out that somebody saw these images in his bedroom, which is locked, and was able to get to us." Authorities believe Wendland downloaded the images and did not take them himself. A Disney official said Wendland has been suspended without pay. Wendland also plays the character Goofy at Walt Disney World.

If you are really into fresh authentic German cuisine then if you are close to Columbus, Oh. May I suggest Schmidt’s Restaurant and Sausage Haus , the atmosphere there is just as authentic as the food.

Disney Parks eyes stand-alone hotels, niche parks
Avatar replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yes; I do remember all those points and your factual in the timeline of the events. It also says that they will only go forward with the new areas if the are a potential for a high profit margin. I know they tried Disney Quest and that id did not work well in Chicago, but maybe they have learned from their mistakes. Lets hope anyway. I agree with tuba man I think I would rather go to the World than visit a water down Disney Park. But if they do put a few new parks out there, I think that will get the seasonal parks to take notice and try to up the ante somewhat.. -
If I am reading that right it talks about the Ice show then say’s 4 other shows. So I guess hat means a total of 5 shows. I’m looking forward to hearing more about those! I wonder who they are referring to when they say they listened to their guests.

Thats a good guess as it would be great for families to have a show where they can get their children in some air conditioning for a short while (parents know the importance of that) Although I based my #3 guess on two things; First; is that last year Cedar Fair wanted the characters out of the Nickelodeon Theater, to mingle with the young guest all around the Nickelodeon Universe area and at the front gates, so that would leave the theater empty. Second; PKI Vortex made a post back in January about using the Nickelodeon Theater for a kids sho, that said this; So I was guessing that maybe Ryan had read that and used it to give us the clue that he did , as they like to remind us to look around and that members sometimes hit the nail on the head. The Dora Sing a Long could also be done in the Nickelodeon Theater with just using benches to sit on.

In my defense, even Maureen did it! From: "I was quoted in Cin Weekly" The reason why things aren't announced immediately is becasue, first of all it's a bad decision to prematurely release trade secrets, as mentioned above and more importantly things change... big time. In fact it wasn't until the very end of the season that KI was going to even GET anything. The original plan called for something else that has been rumored on these forums. It takes a LOT to get the word out about these rides, and until they're ready to do so, they just don't do so. Just remember that even the most overgrown road can be cleared, even the most broken man can be rescued, and that even the most filled in venue can host a sing along. Ryan Thanks Ryan for your response and we always enjoy it when da BoddaH speaks, your are very articulate (no offense). Also thank you for the next clues for our next PKICentral challenge of; deciphering the new clues for future changes at Kings Island. So the clues from Ryan was at the bottom of the post saying So lets break it down, shall we; even the most overgrown road can be cleared even the most broken man can be rescued that even the most filled in venue can host a sing along My quick spur of the moment guess would be Return of the antique cars Fixing TR:TR broken theme props A kids show at Nickelodeon Theater

That would not be too new. In 1972 Disney opened Magic Kingdom on the second floor. On the first floor that is where the service area is and where they park the parade floats and where the park offices are located. The water table in that area is just a couple feet, so they had to build up and wanted all services below the park itself. So that idea is over 35+ years old
-
Yes; maybe a least a couple butt hen the rest actually put some merchandise from those areas represented and not the same stuff in every store.

In my opinion it really does not matter what the name of the place is or what they will serve there, because the same number of guest will eat there, no matter what just because of it’s location. But if they wanted a restaurant that guest would reserve prior to coming to the park and 1-2 hour waits to be seated, a true high demand restaurant . Then they need to get creative and quite looking at chains or we did that up there restaurants. Something like Disney does with theirs like Sci Fi It can be something related to the Cincinnati area or about the theme parks in general, just make it truly unique. It is sitting on International street and if they are going to put a sit down restaurant on International street then name the restaurant to a particular country and really do it up and serve that counties food recipes.

Kings Dominion Fact Sheet
Avatar replied to WooferBearATL's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I am really looking forward to that announcement the most, any word when that will be? -
A big common debate here on this board for years is how to make everybody happy (realistic just most). Some want more record breaking skyscraper coasters and some want more shows, while yet others wold like to see more family like attractions including relaxing common areas. Theming is the only thing that all these groups can agree on! The more the merrier and they would like to say WOW look at al this it makes the attraction more enjoyable. For what ever reason seasonal parks do a poor job and at best an ok job when it comes to theming. So; To Theme are not to Theme that is the question? I think if Cedar Fair would like to get to the next level of overall guest satisfaction, then it does not matter in what order they put in various attractions as it seems that guest really want it to have awesome theming. It’s been said before by many; “If your going to do it then do it right!â€Â. I truly believe that various members from the former paramount management team understood that and knew that was what guest really wanted and tried to make it happen. Then somewhere down the line the bean counters came in and said guest will still come if we just give the attraction a waterdown version of what was originally planned. I say this because if you look back to what the former park management would say about a new attraction and by opening day the attraction only would have about half of what was originally planned (as far as theming went).

Eiffel Tower Stairs & Have you worked the Tower?
Avatar replied to 2011Beast's topic in Kings Island
Opps …my bad Well I hope ddenham doesn’t use the elevator trips theory in his report, as he may just get laughed out of the class room. You know you can’t always trust those Excel programs. But PKI_Diana should still have the number of trips she went to refigure the actual miles traveled in one season. -
Eiffel Tower Stairs & Have you worked the Tower?
Avatar replied to 2011Beast's topic in Kings Island
Thank-you PKI_Diana for you quick response, I hope all is going well for you. I got a question coming from your 1st reply; if you went 100,000 miles how many trips does that take? Is it 100,000 divided by 275 = 181.81 trips up and 181.81 trips down? -

If I remember right PKI_Diana said on here that she used to be a supervisor for the Eiffel Tower, and may be you can call the parks info line, they may at least be able to steer you in the right direction. I will e-mail her to see if she knows. -
Cedar Fair buys all the Paramount parks for 1.2 billion. If this does indeed happen it should be a super huge Theme Park for 8 billion dollars.
