Thanks to you for the added abilities! Audio animatronics; have an manual on and off switch . The only way I know how to turn these two off is by wearing them out, so unfortunately that puts them into the living Human category. Stardust; first let me welcome you to the Forum! It’s always nice to have a diversity of opinions on the forum and it’s always great to have females opinions chiming in on park matters. Yes the Instrument music box is fully functioning using both drums. cymbals and wind pips, although I believe that they were using external speakers to play the medley. There were so many guests their and it was very loud in that area but they had the sound turned up and I could still here the drums and the cymbal playing over the audio. I notice you are currently in Oxford, Oh, I proposed to my wife there at one of the parks by the museum, oxford is so beautiful. Also my son used to go to hockey summer camp there and loved it. I hope your are having an memorable time at Oxford too (and not just for the party reputation that Miami has).

Firehawk Construction Is Well Under Way!
Avatar replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
You know it’s about 6 hours for me to get to GL, that is why I have never been there and because I would rather go to CP which is closer. So I am really excited about Firehawk coming to Kings Island!! But…to be honest I am getting more excited about the entertainment coming back to the park and about the changes happing to this site in the process. I was really hoping that the park was going to make an announcement in regards to the upcoming new shows and all the other changes happening for next year. So if Kings Island and PKICentral really wants to get me completely excited and all jazzed up…Tell Me More!!!! -
^LOL; I haft to admit your description was funny, but please show some couthie for the OP.

I am noticing some of the new features and loving it! Spell check, Spoiler box, members profile dropbox above members Avatar and tons more, I can’t what to see the new skin you have planned for us. I also noticed that you guys have switched to the just released 2.2 board, as always you guys are on the cutting edge when it comes time for improvements. Thanks to the Admin’s and all the MOD for their continued hard work.

Firehawk Construction Is Well Under Way!

Great pictures Ryan! As always you know exactly what members want to see and have the contacts to get it accomplished. Thanks!!! Funny I have never seen any speed limit signs inside the park and that’s probably why Maureen was driving. -
Thanks guys; but most managers and owners I know follow the same philosophy that I am teaching my six year old now. Treat others as you would want them to treat you. That is basic respect training 101. If you find yourself dealing with someone that has not learned that (in any area of your life’s travels), my I suggest respecting yourself and continue on down the road.

I would lose serious sleep if I knew one of my employees missed such an important event in their lives, because they thought that it would show me their dedication to my business. In fact if I knew that an employee had a major event celebrating an act in their life, I would insist that in no way that they are to work.

You mean they make that stuff in the winter, then sell it in the summer? How do they know how much to make?
-
Yeah I saw that picture last night too. When guests take pictures, they like standing in that area because the name of the park is clearly visible. In my opinion it will be hard for groups to incorporate the Kings Island sign in their pictures because it’s too low. Maybe if they put in front of that curved cutout area, then guest could stand behind it for a great picture.

BoddaH1994; thanks for the response to this thread. I believe two things make this site so successful and addicting to it’s members; First is that you the Admin’s allow the members to get involved in various aspects of this site, as in games, pictures and meet-ups. By doing that it allows this site to become a small community and just not like other coaster fanboys sites that are way too cut and dry. So good job here for being refreshingly different. Second reason; is that you the Admin’s are close to Kings Island and usually can get correct reliable information in regards to the park and at times getting inside information about what’s coming. While remaining independent from Kings Island, so I believe members and guest come here because they know that the information given from you guys will be good correct. I know because of the good working and respectful relationship that you guys have with Kings Island that you guys need to be guarded when some information dribbles out from other sources. As a very loyal member I get a little disheartened when I read factual posts or even see pictures from other web sites describing what’s coming to our beloved park, while at the same time this independent site is deleting post conveying the same factual information. I understand that the admin’s need to wait to give out certain information because the unique respectful relationship that both groups have with each other. I just hope that they appreciate the hit you guys take when trying to cover for them.

Firehawk HELICOPTER NOW PROVIDING 24-HOUR TRAUMA CARE TRANSPORT FOR ANTELOPE VALLEY. Just think a Firehawk helicopter at Kings Island would be reassuring to guest.

Most large corporations require that their management give X amount of hours for hands on volunteer work. I think this this whole country would be better off if we gave our time or followed Robert L Woodson Sr. style of volunteerism. When I do volunteer work I always enjoyed it and take pride in myself too. Cory Butcher; I did get your PM thanks.

I think it is great that the unused coats were given to those who need them the most. I think that Cedar Fair did a great thing for those folks. But I think it is SQUARE to take all the credit for themselves and not let the local parks, which was the original destination for those coats do something for their local community. Cory Butcher; I expressing this as easy as I can so that you don’t take it the wrong way. United States Corporate Charity giving is bigger than anywhere else in the world by huge margins. In fact the Citizens of the United States give more charity money than most other countries combined not counting what their tax dollars fund here and abroad. I think that maybe you have not taken the time to see how much corporations have given and is why maybe you didn’t realize how compassionate corporate America is. I am in no way saying that corporate America is perfect and that maybe they can do more, but I just don’t want us folks to seem ungrateful for their huge charitable contributions. It would be like giving a homeless person on the street $10.00, and as you walk away feeling great you hear the homeless person saying “Thanks you cheap Bast**dâ€Â.

Cedar Point community may have been following the gun control policy that the Cincinnati has just now adopted. Having the community leaders ask their local citizens to please do not shot each other.
-
That would have been nice if the local Cincinnati community reaped some of Kinks Islands donated coats.

Yes; them were the days. It always seemed that the employees really enjoyed playing their part while in their work costume. A worker working at the Tower of Terror. As has been stated several times on here Disney once said “Were just running a dressed-up carnivalâ€Â. It seems that Disney is still following that philosophy still to this day as seen in the pictures. In fact anywhere at Disney the workers are dressed to blend into the environment to give the valued guest an exceptional experience. Some places have went to an park wide uniform and it shows in a variety of ways. Only at a select few places; them still are the days!

Carowinds 2007 Brochure

That would be a great way to rejuvenate the International Street Area. Let’s be realistic though, Kings Island bean counters would never let this happen, because the potential for the guest to arrive early to catch a state of the art show at International street would spend too much money in the shops. Then they would have no excuse to start closing the park early. -
Nice trip report chef, I hope you did know that you are allowed to use all the amenities of the lodge and including the water park until 10 pm at night on the day you check out. Well I’m glad to hear that the chlorine didn’t bother toddler chef this time and also that he’s getting a little venturous in the water slides.

I agree with you about maverick going to be an awesome ride. I think a lot of coaster fanboys get to narrow minded when it comes to coasters. I like an amusement parks that offer various coaster experiences from the super high thrill to the unique milder heavily themed coasters. I think embracing all the different coaster types it allows the creators to explore and develop new unique coasters with out a narrow minded view.

Water Coaster New for SFKK
Avatar replied to Vortex's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If I had to pick between the two, I think I would pick the older version that Disney has for an outside water park and the faster HydroMagnetic Water Coaster for inside water parks . Because the HydroMagnetic is like riding a wet kiddy coaster which is great especially in the winter months and when space is limited, to give riders that extra coaster thrill. Disney’s Crush n Gusher Water Coaster had three water courses to choose from on the same platform, to me I liked feeling all the water splashing around me as I was being blasted through the up and down water course during the hot summer months. I also like that the water craft was a light water tube that I could control myself a little. The big difference to me is riders per hour when comparing the two types of water coasters systems. -
Water Coaster New for SFKK
Avatar replied to Vortex's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It is the same Water Coaster that GWL has, Disney’s Crusher n Gusher Water Coaster does not use HydroMagnetic technology to propel the water craft up the hills, Instead they use the good old fashion forward momentum and water jets to blast riders up the hills. Both have good and bad, the HydroMagnetic has seating in the craft and has a hard magnetic bottom, which makes the Water Coaster much faster. Riders usually only get wet from the water sprayed throughout the course. Verses the lighter water tube, Water Jet propeled types that use single and double water tubes that lets the water come up through the middle of the water tube. The water jets that pushes the water tubes up the hills blasts the riders as well, especially in the butt area and the back of riders heads.. The only similarities that I have noticed is that both water coasters are launched by a operator using a conveyor belt type of technologies. Riders get in their water crafts and when the operator feels it’s safe, they push a button which moves the water craft forward and into the water slide. When I stayed at the GWL last month , some of the 3 man water coaster crafts could not make it all the way up the second hill. So it seemed to me that every 15 minutes or so the riders would haft to get out of their HydroMagnetic water crafts onto a wooden deck and take the stairs down. For safety reasons the operators would not launch another water craft until the water craft previously launched has cleared the last HydroMagnetic lift hill. The problem with that is the longer the water coaster is the longer it will take to launch another water craft. So the potential of long lines is very high. -
Well if you think back to when you were young and imagine how it must be for those youngsters today, then you know that it is a big deal. Plus most guest go only once a year to Kings Island and that often is the family vacation so to those families it is also a very nice way to finish a day, things that family memories are made off. Quick test: Can you remember where your family stood to watch the fireworks at Kings Island? If your answer was yes then you can see that there is value in the fireworks as it leaves a lasting impression on of Kings Island.
