  1. Water Coaster is up and running with only a few delays every so often. they are still dealing with the fire alarms and make audio announcements in your room. I guess just to workout some bugaboos still in the system. Although because of this Miss Rae thinks that if there really was a fire at night that I would not be able to get her out of her room. So it’s either all three of us in the 1 queen size bed or I haft to take-up residents in the Kid Cabin in our room. So since last night I kept getting kicked out of bed and found out that the couch is not long enough to let one sleep there comfortably, I have decided that the kid cabin is the next best place for me. I have tested it and I do just barely fit, if I put my head against the headboard my feet just barley hang over the end. Don’t get me wrong here we are having some great family time and Miss Rae say’s this is her new favorite hotel. Well back to the great fun here at the Great Wolf Lodge. Note; There is so much to do here for a family that we may not get t go to all the other Holiday festivals that we originally planned.
  2. FYI; The Bear Claw Cafe' is working great, and was very busy right after the pool closed. They said they open back-up at 6:30 am so I that if you guys see anything you like from the beakery, just ley me know i'm taking orders.
  3. Hello everyone After waiting many months we have finally checked into the Great Wolf Lodge. Wow pictures absolutely doesn’t do this place justice. There is enough to do here to keep a family busy for days. Although we are really impressed with everything, there have been a few negatives too. Some of which they can not control but a few they can. I will go into more detail later about them, but one quick one was at 5:45 pm they sent everyone outside in the pouring rain with what they had on at the time. Then locked everyone out of there rooms for 10 minutes after the all clear to go back in. There are other problems too.
  4. Thats great!! I first heard this story om the radio today. I also wonder how much the paid for the labor to pick-up all that lose coins.
  5. WOW!!! Those extra pictures really show how big the lodges water park is. Were so exited about going that we decided to go one day sooner than what we had originally planned.
  6. Dude the loop is already gone and your Avatar shows that. In two weeks the only probably interesting thing over there will be Snow. If you are suggesting something else then why not go out on a limb and tell us!!! Unless your probably just guessing.
  7. I totally agree I hope for something new and exciting to replace the loop. I would love to see some great theming on and around the SOB. Now have said that I don’t think we will see much of anything that cost money until they see if the new attempts to fix the existing rough ride problems are indeed corrected. From a business standpoint it would not be too wise to throw good money at extra options with only a hope and a wish that they have fixed the other problems first.
  8. WOW....3 days after the announcement from Maureen and photos of the removal of the loop have appeared, 'Rumor Smasher' has finally made an assessment to a rumor. Man we are so fortunate to have such experts here on pkicentral to keep us up to date on the latest happings around Kings Island. Thanks 'Rumor Smasher' I don't know what we would have done with out you!!! This post was and is intended for an attempt of good natured humor .
  9. Well I have been paying attention this year and I’m very glad to see the Great Wolf Lodge open for business. I am anxious to see first hand reports coming from guest staying at the lodge, I think this is a nice addition to the Kings Island area and I believe helps the guest to have a more enjoyable experience when visiting the area. I heard a rumored report somewhere about an unofficial water slide race! I would like to see those photos and also get the official unofficial results from that race now that would be something enquiring minds would like to know. I have two questions that maybe some members may know as they have taken employment with the lodge. Does the Lodge allow water camera’s in the Water Park area? Will the Great Wolf Lodge be running normal hours during the Holidays? In specific Christmas Eve and Day? Restaurants, Water park, Animation shows and Gift shops . Thanks in advance for your response.
  10. By the way; welcome to PKIC fan of beast; sounds like we have several similarities and park preferences.
  11. I don't know for sure who started all the chatter but many members offered up thier own tid bits of information that really keep the story going. That is whats so great about the popularity of PKIcentral.
  12. Plus they would never put a closed sign in a picture of an attraction that they were trying to sell unless they were willing to take far less for it than what its really worth. That was the first thing I saw as I have seen that sign numerous times over last summer.
  13. As a family the Speed Lanes is the single biggest reason why we visit at least 2 times a month. It makes it so convent for a family. I always fell guilty if I spend too much time away from the family or have them wait while I take a ride on a medium wait line. I sincerely hope they keep the Speed Lanes as our visiting patterns are dictated by it.
  14. Thanks for catch Robbie! Yes several members expressed interest last summer about getting several of the members together and taking a long trip as an fun way to get together and to see some other parks. Reon who is very busy at school at present started to organize a list of members who may be interested in going so a thread was started called "Offical PKIC tour". From there I offered to help then the admins decided that they would like to assist in the process also, to give the trip an unique experience. I had started a web page that gave some details as to a general schedule. At this point we are currently working on the exact days that the trip will take place. After the Holidays I will devote major time to getting all the finalized details together and have an announcement made through the admins. If you would like to see some old plans feel free to have a look at the old pages. PKIC TOUR 2007
  15. careyanne11; Welcome aboard we are always glad to have new members to add to the many discussions here. Everyone here is pretty friendly so feel free to voice your opinions. If you have any questions or need some help, just ask and usually someone will be happy to assist you.
  16. Just a side note with all this new news PKIC has just smashed their most users online at one time record today at 2:06 pm with 162 viewers! Who would have thought that they would break the record in the middle of December. Congratulations PKICentral.com Staff on all your success!
  17. IMHO; I think for the removal of the loop is best because if they fixed only the structure but did not change any viewable structures of the ride, the perception of the attraction in the minds of many of the average guest would be “they just put a patch on the structure“. Therefore the old reputation would still be in the minds of the guest, Son of Beast without the loop and new trains will be something the guest can physically see and will allow the attraction to hopeful get a second chance with the guests and allow the Son of Beast to get a new favorable reputation.
  18. I agree but I don’t think we would see any vehicles around The SOB on a Sunday during the month of December. Could it be possible for them to start on a Monday morning to prep the area for the removal of the loop on a Wednesday, and then bring in a large mobile crane to lower it and to be finished by midday then be packed up and out by 4 pm. That would indeed be pretty impressive efficient work but is doable. As seen in the photo examples below. Every year in September Disney usually changes and performs maintenance on the castle and some items to be placed or removed are large heavy pieces such as the Castle Bling above the main Doors. Disney brings in a large crane and parks in the back of the castle then when guests leave for the day they raise this mobile crane and perform the necessary work at night over a span of about 8 hours. Afterwards they take down the crane to either remove it from the park or leave it at the park to hide it away so the guest won’t have ready access to it. Or be forced to see the operators of such machinery. Now the simple fact is sometimes they just need a crane to be brought in to do some simple maintenance to a hard to reach area, so they attach a cherry picker to the crane to accomplish these types of tasks. So I really think that it is possible to have a crane in and out of Kings Island in one day, I don’t think that anyone can guess as to the task that the crane was there to due at this point. Let’s keep the discussion going.
  19. Does anyone know what this cutting edge technology is and I am glad to see a large expansion at KK. Its been years since we have visited KK last and at that time half the park was closed, so we never went back.
  20. You may want to check the dates of those pictures and then check when the SOB rumors started by a few photos by Shman, before you start to accuse others of what they know.
  21. It looks looks like we're getting an early Christmas present.
  22. So to take The Beast idea a little further; they could by pass the loop with the track but have The Beast hanging from the loop and acting like he is destroying it. As the riders approach they swerve the looped section just in time to avoid the scary and noisy Beast.
  23. Hopefully we can take this tread out of the rumors forum and into the Paramount Kings Island forum! Or at least start a new one.
  24. Actually instead of another airtime hill I would like to see something different maybe a giant Beast that acts like its going to get the riders and some sound effects to go with it. Kind of like Animal Kingdom has the Yeti doing. After the Italian Job Stunt Track audio fiasco, The Beast audio would probably be out though.
  25. CORRECTION NOTE; Ronny has informed me that one of the facts of my last above post is incorrect. So I am making the correction note to retract my earlier statement and to make the necessary corrections. In the post above I refer to Ronny as to being a beaver and I must have been mistaken as the picture is a little deceiving. I have been informed that the Ronny was posing as the cute little otter. Also he wanted me to pass along that the camera adds at least 10 pounds to the subjects being photographed. I am sorry if I have offended anyone or caused any pain and suffering from my statements above. Sincerely; Avatar
